Minnesota Nice Cafe

We had MN Nice cater our wedding in November 2024. Our food was WONDERFUL! We had pork roast, beef roast, with roasted baby red potatoes, glazed carrots, and a side salad. The meat was extremely flavorful and tender, and their herbes de provence sauce is incredible. We had a variety of cupcakes, the caramel cheesecake cupcakes were a huge hit! We got so many great compliments on the food from our guests. We worked with Danielle, and she is fantastic. She was so easy to work with and was very organized. For our couples cake, she made a turtle cheesecake that was to die for!! I highly recommend MN Nice for any catering needs that you may have.

Very popular restaurant, there were several people waiting for seats but our wait was only 10 minutes or so. Wild rice omelet was very tasty. Hash browns were crisp and buttery. Rye toast was true rye and flavorful. Eggs over medium were perfect. Sourdough toast yummy. The restaurant is nicely decorated inside.

Always a must stop when I’m in Bemidji. The wild rice pancakes are absolutely delicious - and filling! There may be a wait on weekends, but it’s worth it!

Have eaten here several times on our way to MI. I love the Irish Benedict with their in house made corned beef and my husband had the special that day. This place never disappoints. The staff have been working there for years and work like a well oiled machine. Service is always with a smile, orders come out quickly and hot. The portions are large and the coffee is good. What more can a person ask for.

In the midst of dealing with grief from losing a loved one, I needed a little quiet time. I also needed to eat. I'm not from MN, so I wanted to find a local gem. I did! Atmosphere was upbeat but quiet. Coffe was hot and fresh and my Irish benedict was on point. I like my hollandaise with a little more lemon pop to it, however it was still very good. The corned beef was homemade and cooked/seasoned perfectly. Really just great all the way around. Thanks to the staff there for just being so nice. ETA: My waitress was Annie. Very kind and attentive. Has a genuine smile.

Was a nice little Cafe and the good was delicious. Our server was outstanding and fast. Even though there was a lot of customers, our wait time was short. Food came out in a decent amount of time and was nice and hot!

Incredible, made-from-scratch eats. Everything from the coffee to the cakes to the eggs were put together with the love of a mother. Didn’t have room to give the Hummingbird cake a try, good chance of my eyes rolling back in my head followed by a solid blackout so I couldn’t take the risk. Id recommend bringing a strong family member and a stretcher along because the portions are quite hearty. I pert near left in a body bag, but that won’t stop me from coming back! Also, great story about how the owner fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning and operating a popular cafe. Love to see and live the American Dream while it’s in action!

The service was good and it’s a nice restaurant, but the food was lacking. The potatoes were unevenly cooked, some were hard, some were soft and they were dripping in a bitter tasting oil. The eggs were undercooked for how I ordered them. The cost is also higher than at other local restaurants and you get less food. It’s not the worst but other restaurants are better in my opinion.

This place gets BUSY, so busy. Be prepared to wait a bit if you go at the high traffic time. That's a good sign right? Good service, good food, it is worth the wait.

We had already made plans to eat breakfast here the day after a wedding we were attending and imagine our surprise when we learned they were the caterer! The food at the wedding was really good so we were looking forward to breakfast the next day. The service at the restaurant was great, our server was very friendly and the restaurant is spotlessly clean! We had the veggie omelet, eggs Benedict, wild rice omelet and a breakfast sandwich - all the food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious.

I came here not WONCE, but TWYCE! My buddies joined me. First time, went for the the special, chicken fried steak. That was so good I am serious I went back the second time and was bummed it wasn't there even though I was excited to see Annie who was our waitress and the reason we came back. She is awesome, but don't challenge her to a roller blade contest she will beat you. I didn't challenge her because I know I will get embarrassed. The second time I was bummed about the whole chicken fried steak thing so my boy Gavin, the waiter, he's the man, super cool, super chill, the ultimate dude, told me to ball out with the Ruben. Think I missed an e in Reuben. He even brought me the 1000 island dressing to dip it into. I don't usually like Rebens, but I like this one. Also had to get it because my boy told me to. I'm a dog for that. This place is awesome.

I have gone for breakfast twice now on trips to Minnesota. They have breakfast dialed in. Crisp hashbrowns, tasty sausage with eggs and a hot carafe of coffee. I may also have a pancake. Service was attentive and quick. Ambience is that of having breakfast at a friend's house and the waitress and host make you feel right at home.

Busy place on a Sunday morning! Benches outside to wait for a few minutes, contemplating our meal to come. Tasty, hot & filling. Coffee plentiful. Friendly & helpful wait staff despite the busyness of the eatery.

The best thing about this place is the variety of breakfast dishes. The food is okay but it's hard to screw up breakfast. However, if you're planning on eating here, it's wise to call and make sure you actually talk to someone! Unless you follow them on Facebook, you'll have no idea when they close. The message on their answering machine will not mention that they are closed, but actually suggests that they are open and unable to answer the phone. When I brought this to the attention of the owner, he was very inconsiderate and non apologetic, which tells me a lot about the way the business is run. I believe he feigns interest in his customers, especially in review responses, but in reality could care less.

Each of us had different food (group of four) and three of us really enjoyed the meal. The nice rice bowl was very disappointing, though. There was little rice in it. It was mostly cabbage. The flavor was pretty bland. The pancake and French toast options were all quite good. The drinks were good as well. The service was pretty good, especially given it was quite busy.

Food was really good. All fresh and could tell it was from scratch. Coffee was fresh and you get a whole coffee pot. Service was good and cute ambiance.

The food was delicious and the strawberry shortcake was excellent! Service a little slow, but friendly. Quaint little old town restaurant.

Was craving a breakfast out on the town and was slightly disappointed with our time here. Community was great, but food was lackluster. We ordered the original pancakes and cinnamon French toast. Both were bland and didn't have any flavor! Hoping to come back again one day and have a different outcome!

Our first and last time to this joint! The two young ladies were pleasant! I ordered the caramel apple French toast.... they left the skin on their apples creating tough to chew didn't see or taste Carmel... the bread tasted like it was a few days old and stale. The very large woman waitress came over and I told her I didn't care for the stale toast or the apple skin it was hard to swallow she asked me if I wanted it remade and I declined. my husbands breakfast was lukewarm at best but he ate it... the bacon was mostly fat! the big lady brought our check and I asked her if she was going to take my breakfast off the bill since I had only a few bites she remarked No! I'm not! I then told her to go ahead and make it this time to go! I figured my husband will eat it tomorrow..... next thing we know this very large man comes over and said Im not going to remake it for you!!! I will comp your meal and he took off in a huff! how rude of both of these people! We wanted to pay for husbands meal and my drink but the man said no! Their prices are extremely high and the food was not worth it! Not sure why they're NOT MN Nice!!! We've recently relocated here and these are the first people not nice!!

Wonderful breakfast menu with tasty items The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere pleasant relaxing.

Where to start 1. Food quality: food came out 1:15 minutes after we sat down on a Friday morning 2. Food came out staggerd about an hour from start to finish we received French toast an hour before the last hot item came to the table. I don't mind if items come out hot when done but an hour from first to last item is very unprofessional. 3. Ordered potato pancakes received circular hashbrowns swimming in butter in the shape of a pancake with no batter at all. Could not eat were totally gross. 4. Ordered American fries there must have been at least a 1/2 to 3/4 cup of oil on the plate and potato's too. Could barely eat any. 5. Ordered French toast that was cold as well. 6. Food came out in varying degrees of warmth from cold eggs to right off the griddle. 7. Asked for apple sauce she said yes we have that received the equivalent of pie filling to put on potato pancakes. Asked for sour cream too never came. 8. Oh did I mention other people came after us ordered and ate and left before we got our food. 9. Told sever about all of the short comings and oopsies...no adjustment to our bill and no no apologies. She said: "I'll tell the kitchen." Who cares take care of your customers! 10. Won't be back. Very disappointing. Would give zero stars if possible

Very popular on a Saturday morning but was seated in about 10-15 min. Reasonable coffee but nice touch bringing a carafe for the table. House made corned beef hash is not to be missed. Waitress suggested wildrice-cranberry toast and was a great choice

We had a delicious brunch here today. Just came upon it while biking. Delicious food. Great service.

We were in Bamidji for a wedding and had breakfast here was wonderful food wonderful staff. Prices are reasonable portion are good I had four meat omelette and my wife had wild rice omelette, excellent

What a really great sandwich? Look no further it's here! I had the Chicken Avocado Sandwich on Cranberry wild rice bread! It is the best! The staff is very Minnesota nice! It's well worth the stop if you are in Bemidji! They are only open until 2:00. So don't miss out!!

We stopped in on a busy Saturday morning and were lucky to get a seat right away. We ordered a breakfast platter and an omelette and both were excellent. Highly recommend the wild rice omelette!

Attended a wedding in Bemidji recently and wanted a local breakfast. When I found Minnesota Nice I knew we had to find it. It is very very Minnesota Nice and a fabulous breakfast menu which I could not wait to try. My husband had the blueberry pancakes and I opted for the Paleo- Ish Skillet with Wild Rice Pancakes. I loved the spinach with wild rice, green peppers, onions, tomatoes and topped with three eggs! Deliciously fresh and great way to start a big day but Impossible to finish with the incredible wild rice pancakes. I sure wish a satellite Minnesota Nice Cafe was in my town in Nevada!!

We were told about this place by the front desk team member at our hotel. Wow- what a great recommendation! We went for lunch. My husband had the Greek burger and he said it was delicious- unique flavor combination with the feta, peppers and olives. I had the breakfast sandwich with red potatoes. Both the sandwich and potatoes were terrific! Exceptionally nice staff. Clean and appropriate Covid precautions being taken. I highly recommend this place but make sure you are hungry as the portions are big and fairly priced. Enjoy!

I was in search for a Saturday breakfast while in town for work. After looking on here at a few different places I choose to visit here. I was so glad that I made this my choice. I was looking for something a little more healthy then your normal eggs, bacon, and pancakes. I ordered the yogurt parfait that came with a pumpkin muffin and I also ordered the oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins and I added the baked apples. It was amazing and the wait staff was on point. You could tell they were focused on customer service. Thanks Minnesota Nice Cafe for such a wonderful experience!!

So I am new to town and we finally got a chance to eat here on a Sunday after Church and this place did not disappoint! The food was outstanding, the service was super great and the food came out within a good time especially with 3 kiddos. If your looking for a good Breakfast place or lunch place you gotta check this place out. I am, looking forward to my nexts visit.

We had the something Jack / Jill breakfast. The wait for the food was close to 45 minutes. Hash browns were burnt. Sausage was not good. My well done eggs were runny. I love restaurant pancakes. The ones I had were tasteless! We had high hopes but we will not return. Plus the price was plenty high for the quality of the food.

What a find!! This is a classic little family run cafe with incredible breakfast foods. You can even buy real maple syrup- this place is authentic! I had the breakfast wrap and it was seriously delicious. I won't be able to top that meal for the rest of my trip. My friend had the corned beef omelette, and said it was great. I did sample some of her pancakes and regretted not ordering some for myself. This little spot is definitely worth visiting when in Bemidji!

This is true home cooked, Minnesota fare. Nothing fancy or frilly, just good hometown meals like grandma makes. The portions are big, the prices are small the tables are clean it's perfect for all! What else can I say? The food was so good I forgot to even take a photo of my plate. Get the wild rice soup- it's one of the best I've ever had.

My wife and I sat forever waiting for a server, the couple next to us came in at the same time and their order was taken and they got their drinks and still no server,,we left..The hostess didnt seem to care when I told her why we were leaving..

This place has a great atmosphere. Great food. Great wait staff. Great host. The restaurant smells so delicious upon entering. If you go for breakfast I would suggest getting there early. It fills up. Thank you MNC for your great service. Also my wife waited over a year to have your hummingbird cake and it was amazing!! This app only allows me to give 5 stars. But I'm adding 5 more for a perfect 10. We will definitely eat here again the next time we travel from MPLS. Peace and love.

NOT Gluten Free. Menu and web advertises "Gluten Free", but after waiting and back-and-forthing with the waitress, they were unable to accommodate our Celiac son. The kitchen was unwilling to wash and use a clean pan to make our Celiac 6 yr old a "Gluten Free" pancake. Not cool. Seems they just want to be on the GF bandwagon, but not really willing to care.

Stumbled across this place when in town visiting our cabin. Unbelievable food quality. We came for breakfast and my husband had the wild rice omelet and I had the eggs Benedict. We drove 60 miles to come again the following week!

On the way home from a camping trip we wanted to stop for lunch. I found Minnesota Nice Cafe on yelp and we decided to stop. The food was amazing. I had the bacon cheese burger and the seeded bun reminded me of an everything bagel. The seasoning on the bun was perfect with the seasoning of the burger patty. My other half had the Load em up Spuds and was impressed. He liked the taco flavor with the hash browns and egg. The only drawback was the wait to get the food. It was busy, but the wait seemed a bit long for two meals. All in all I would return if in the area again.

We appreciated the accommodations made on a Sunday morning to feed our group of 22. Great food and great service. We highly recommend this great Bemidji restaurant.

Great food here too! Since I am from the South, I am always skeptical to see "biscuits and gravy"; however, this place does it right. Their patty melt was also on point. I highly recommend Minnesota Nice. The food is great, portions are large, and the prices are low!

One of my favorite places to eat in Bemidji. My favorite is the Walnut pie! Also wonderful breakfasts and lunch sandwiches.

This place was delicious with huge portions. I got the wild rice skillet with eggs over easy and added sautéed mushrooms from a different skillet. It was insanely good. It had melted cheese on top and was so creamy and delicious. I wish I could have it again weekly! My husband loved his chicken fried steak, my kids loved their blueberry pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes and French toast. Super good, large portions and decently priced. Would definitely eat there again.

Family of 4 first time here. Friendly service with a smile. We ordered breakfast and a taco salad. I had the omelet with wild rice in it, I asked if I could add mushrooms to it, baby reds and pancakes. If you're thinking this sounds like a lot, it is!! The omelet was delicious! You should order it!! The rest of my family enjoyed their meals as well! I will definitely eat here again when we are in the area!

We were in town and got high reviews so we decided we had to check this place out. We got there the place was packed we had a big group so had to wait little bit, ppl were nice. Then we got seated and finally got our order placed then we waited and waited and waited never saw our waitress no one checked on us ppl came and went we finally asked about our order. The bad part of it was we had two small children with our group that were very hungry so the wait was way to much for the 1 yr old we had to take him out side to occupy him. I am happy when we finally got our food everything was hot. Food tasted good but service ruined my review. I am very sorry.

There wild rice pancakes are to die for . Love this place. The Greek burger was the best burger I've ever had. The help is amazing.

The gravy didnt taste like anything and could probably be used to build houses and the chicken fried steak tasted like it was frozen for 2 hours and someone microwaved it it also had a rancid flavor and was expired. In the biscuts and gravy the biscut was dry and pasty and tasted like flour and salt and the service was not good.

A Bemidji icon we decided to have breakfast here when we recently visited the town. Ordered the lumberjack breakfast. It had 2 eggs over easy, baby reds, sausage and we added cranberry wild rice bread. I was very pleased with the breakfast. The potatoes were very good as was the sausage. The bread, which I was told was a must order, was very good also. The staff was friendly and the service was very good. Overall, a good place for breakfast.
