Trek for Treats to 11 of the World’s Most Unique Candy Stores

"Across the highway from Jim’s Apple Farm in southern Minnesota’s Scott County is a sprawling bright yellow retail store. The golden dome at one end can be seen from miles up the road like a sunrise on the horizon.  This seasonal, family-owned business has been operating here nearly 40 years. From mid-May to November, visitors can find local, regional, and imported sweets and treats of all kinds: candied fruits, chocolate bars, fresh baked goods, frozen items, gummies, jelly beans, sodas of every flavor (including Moxie, Cheerwine, and Faygo’s Rock N’ Rye), and even a few toys. While you shop, you can also admire the ceilings painted in a wild, whimsical dreamscape of food and pop culture impressions. Don’t forget to read the oversized billboard on the way out of the gravel parking lot: It’s usually posted with some quippy pun or sarcastic reflection on the times." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Google
This place is crazy cool. Almost always packed with people, but there's good reason for that. They have a lot of staff to process transactions efficiently. They have every variety of almost every snack, treat, or baked good. You smell their fresh baked goods as soon as you walk in.

Google
This is a great spot to: Get candy, Nerd out, Get drinks, Take a break, Get pie, Look at art, Get puzzles, Pick up gifts, Get souvenirs, Take family photos, And much much more. There are great restrooms here. So many atms. And so much parking. Come for fun leave to come back

Google
Cool experience, so much candy and pop, it's crazy. Be prepared to be shoulder to shoulder. It is cash only and watch the checkouts as they don't always pay attention while ringing things up, especially clearance products. They have some cheese and a cool selection of brats and bison burgers.

Google
First time visit. So much to see. Very crowded! Large assortment of candies, chips, and pops/sodas from all over the world. Freshly picked apples, baked pies, apple crisp, and fudge. Candy cigs, pop rocks, rock candy, and more. Wide assortment of jarred items, snack meats, cheese, fresh chicken and duck eggs. And lots to see overhead - free eye candy so to speak! Special note: Cash and Checks Only. No debit or credit cards. ATMs on site. Will return for sure!

Google
Found this store by surprise. The location is quite interesting, you drive a boring highway then suddenly you see a very inviting store! Awesome experience to have seen such a vast variety of treats! Definitely coming back!

Google
I absolutely love the candy store. I come every year with my family. It’s one of our favorite places to come. Not only do they have candy. They have a lot of homemade goods in general including food and gift like items such as candles and soaps. they have awesome designs of different characters painted all over the walls and ceilings. I highly recommend coming here.

Google
Crazy selection of every candy type you have ever heard of and 100 more you've never heard of. Fresh baked pies every day. Interesting fun themes throughout the store. Great fun for kids. Lots of fun drinks for kids and honey and baking mixes and.... To much to list. Reasonable parking. Super busy, lots of people on Sunday. Homemade chocolates are OK but not the very best. Checkout could be better, watch the cashier. After I got home I checked the receipt and realized I was overcharged by $5. O well.

Google
Amazing place. So many candies, but not just candy. They have fresh apples, pumpkin's and more. As well as preserves, jerkies, and fresh baked pies. And the decor is amazing. Well worth the stop, just plan your time. We went on a Saturday and it was packed.

Yelp
This place is the largest candy shop in Minnesota. I was super impressed. They have everything I bought some freeze dried apples and freshly ground local coffee. Trying to be good and not eat sugar. This is a must see for those that love sweets Service was great and friendly The ambiance in 100 stars... I was so shocked on how cool this place it

Yelp
I've driven past this place for years but never came inside until yesterday! It's so much cooler than I expected. Way more than just candy- lots of homemade bakery items, chips, dips, sauces, and tons of imported international food. I found some cool gifts for my family and the decor is really something. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time, including the cashiers, who told me they were all high!
google avatar

Yelp
They have amazing pumpkins, squash, and well CANDY!!!!! If you like candy this is the place to go. They have everything. Candy from all reaches of the globe. The family who owns it also owns the apple orchard up the road. They have been in business in the valley for a long time. I always bring friends and always have a caramel apple. The staff is great and the lines move quickly. Make sure to check out the bathrooms =) I will be back!

Yelp
This is a must stop if you are a Minnesotan or anywhere in the Midwest! People come from near and far to behold the wonder that is our Largest Candy Store! Every soda (pop in this state) flavor you can think of, apples, pies, fudge, name a candy they don't have, syrups, soups , cheese, meats, and a walk down the nostalgia candy isle will do your heart good. We go at least once a year and it never disappoints

Yelp
They aren't kidding when they tell you it's the state's largest candy store. It's arguably probably the largest candy store I've ever been in period. We stopped here during our vacation from Los Angeles to the Mall of America. I remember reading someone else's review that said to not kid yourself by passing up a basket/cart when you come in, because you're just gonna have to go back and grab one. Accurate. Overall, we probably spent about an hour here and stocked up on a variety of candies, some foreign chips, and a couple sodas. Being that it was our last day in Minnesota before heading home, I'm pretty bummed we couldn't get a pie or some cheese curds. Definitely wish they had pie by the slice here! The decor in each room is pretty cool with different themes. The room at the very end with the space theme had some fun hidden gems in the decor, mainly I was excited to see the Planet Express ship on the ceiling. Definitely ended up spending more here than I expected to and had to use one of their ATMs, since they are cash only. Fun places and I'm sure a welcome pitstop of you were road tripping. Some things were pricey, but that's to be expected. Glad we took the time to drive out here during our trip!

Yelp
This is such a neat place. They have just about any candy you could ever imagine. They also have tons of chips and all kinds of bottled soda. They have lots of different foods as well. Noodles, pasta sauces, pizza sauces, pickles, olives, salsas, cookie and muffin mixes, cocktail mixes, trinkets and souvenirs. Literally thousands of puzzles. The inside has super fun decor that kids and adults will love. They have such a wide variety of things, in a range of prices. It can get busy but they do have 10 or more registers. Take note that they only accept cash or check.
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
Me and my family stopped here while on vacation in October 2023. They have a wide variety of candy. They even had some old fashion candy. They have an animatronic band that plays music every 5 minutes and plenty of displays of characters from cartoons and movies throughout the store. They do not accept credit or debit cards but they do have an ATM on station. They also had pumpkins when we went.
google avatar

Hayley B.

Yelp
We come here once a year. Very busy every weekday we have ever gone. I would advizagainst going on a weekend unless you love the hustle and bustle of crowds. But too many people make it hard to navigate the rows and rows of candy, and even harder to see! They redecorate often...love the new Harry potter theme and the Minion Pez....don't forget cash or check only! Prices are better than these little candy shops popping up in the Twin Cites metro where I live. Just don't buy any of the candies you can easily buy back home, and you'll leave a happy camper. I also love their fruit pies and fresh apples.
google avatar

Kristina K.

Yelp
Looking for treats and a large variety? I love stopping here! There is so much to look at and a large variety of taffy, soda, sour candy, and so much more it's mind-blowing The checkout process is fast! They only take cash but have an ATM.
google avatar

Yelp
OK I dont care how old you are..... this place will amaze the young and if you are older like us you will go back in time. we lost an hour here on our road trip. only bought a few things as gifts(not much on sugary stuff any more, but worth a stop I can assure you. even the out side is cool !!!

Yelp

Yelp
On a Fall Saturday afternoon, this place is overwhelming. I still love it. I find it odd that when you walk in, there is so much NOT candy. So many pickles and salsas and soup mixes! Not my thing. APPLES! I remember when they offered slice samples, but that's another thing Covid ruined. I bought a pie. For $14 I thought it would be better than a budget grocery store but nowhere near a farmer's market pie. It was SO GOOD. The pie might be the best deal at this tourist stop. I admired lots and lots of chips. I think you could find some very unique snack products here. A lot of it seems overpriced. I admired lots and lots of candy, most of which was overpriced. Your elders will appreciate the nostalgia. (Candy cigarettes? Beech Gum? My mom cant have either of those things anymore but they make her smile) Your young kids will appreciate the quantity, but may also take way too long picking out...things available at Target. Some of the things being sold could easily be found in stores in the Twin Cities, but maybe you don't have independent stores like that in your town. They have Zoltar.

Yelp
I hadn't been there in years, took a family road trip and it was worth the 60 mile drive both ways!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is massive!! We made a stop here in 2020 when visiting my sister who lives in Minnesota. My kids still bring it up. It's fun and can be overwhelming. So much to look at and choose from. A definite stop if you're in the area!

Yelp
This place is a hoot! Awesome sauce! Wow! Yeah, I read other reviews about the crowds and so on but my visit earlier this week on a early afternoon weekday was pleasant with maybe 50-60 people inside shopping. The selection in this store is impressive to say the least. Inventory control must be a headache because they have so many local, national and international brands offered. When they say they have the largest soda selection I believe it. Just the number of root beer brands offered here blew my mind. And it's not just candy but many other foods to make you and the kids happy. For example, I counted 10 different varieties of fresh apples in paper bags for sale here. Beyond the candies and sweets, drinks and fresh fruits and other foods what about the interior decor? All of the incredible ceiling decorations including the rising and falling hot air balloons and the large free standing super hero figures are ripe for photo opportunities. What about the Candy Band whose members play a fun song every 5 minutes? Then you go into their restroom and you see all of the fine art reproductions on the walls. The transition in decor from Minnesota's Largest Candy Store to The Louvre is funny and noticeable. During my 20 minutes here, I noticed several employees restocking the shelves and available for assistance if needed. This was a fun stop and I agree it's hard to leave without buying something. I bought some rocky road fudge, a pecan log and buttered popcorn taffy. It was a fun visit. Remember this is a cash or local check operation only. No credit cards. Also they close for the winter. This year they close Nov. 28 and reopen Mother's Day weekend.

Yelp
Wowzers!!! Found this place on Atlas Obscura and recently visited! At first we weren't sure if it would be worth the drive...visiting the MSP area with the fam...so it was about a 40 min drive...let me just say...so worth it!!!! Place is definitely hard to miss....it's a huge bright yellow building that sticks out in the middle of all the Apple orchards/farms/general greenery in the area. Lots of parking and lots of things! They only accept cash or checks and have a few ATM's inside...so be sure to plan accordingly. They have ample gravel lot parking...also mentioning this because rocks in your toes can be an issue with sandals. We had so much fun checking out all the things outside before we even walked into the door...so be sure to check those out...3D photo art, world's largest jigsaw puzzle, so much randomness! They have a lot of fun displays inside with various themes and of course you guessed it...lots of candies from all over the world! In addition they have the worlds largest soda selection, we bought some fun root beer flavors and brands! They also sell fresh and frozen pies/baked goods; strange shaped/unique dry pastas, and puzzles! Really had a nice visit here with the family!

Yelp
The biggest trick is getting out of here without buying anything, especially with kids in tow. Lots of candy to choose from, they definitely live up to their namesake. If you don't have a sweet tooth craving to kick, they also have baking mixes, assorted snacks, baked goods, fresh produce (depending on the season) etc. to take a look at as well. The inside has been recently renovated and includes a neat collection of super hero and Disney themed items your kids will fall in love with. We go here every now and then to live the experience or if I am looking for a hard to find candy (here's looking at you Chick-o-sticks) but it reminds me of how Mall of America is, some people love it and some people hate it because of the crowds and such. Oh well, to each their own.
google avatar

Holly F.

Yelp
Such a neat experience! We definitely spent a solid hour walking around and taking it all in. Surprised by the amount of people there too! The parking lot filled up by the time we left. As a note there are no Covid procedures or policies in place anymore (as of July 2021). I didn't see any signs, masks, or markings on the floor. But it is definitely a place for both kids and adults to feel the excitement of 'being a kid in a candy store' the whole time you're there. Their displays are outstanding and were my favorite part. There's just so much to look at and it's easy to miss the little details. Word of advice- when you first walk in the door, look UP!
google avatar

Alik W.

Yelp
I will normally tell you that roadside kitsch is not worth a trip just to see it. This one, it might be the exception. W don't take a road trip to southwest MN without stopping here. Plan at least an hour. It's just a sensory overload of candy and a few other foods, weird soda flavors (blue cheese anyone? At least they have like 100 kinds of ginger beer), photo ops, and a little bit of fresh fruit just for window dressing. Don't miss a trip to the bathrooms, which have decor that's just a hoot. And stand by the honey section to pick up some dad jokes from the animatronic bear. (My kids will verify that these are truly bad jokes.) Now, with all that good clean fun for kids and grown ups alike , fair warning: you aren't getting out of here without buying something. I don't care if you're Ebenezer Scrooge himself, they have something you want, even if it's the macaroni and cheese candy canes for your least favorite employee. Also: CASH ONLY CASH ONLY CASH ONLY BRING CASH. Sure, there's an ATM in there. You know you don't want that fee.
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
Kinda awesome. Variety was impressive and we've been to a couple of these "largest candy store" attractions. It's not just a dump of basics. Organized well into categories and they have a ton of local/small business stuff (salsa, sauces, etc). We were super conservative but still managed over $100 ‍. Prices weren't great but you can't argue with the selection. Don't lie to yourself, get a cart.
google avatar

M H.

Yelp
Sweet, sweet baby Jesus!!! This really is the biggest candy store I've ever seen. We just came out after 2.5 hours of looking and $87 of shopping. Give yourself time. Oh, and don't be foolish, grab a basket at the front door because know matter what promises you make make before you park, they'll become long forgotten within the fist 10 minutes. There's just so many amazing yummy treats and gifts! Have fun and enjoy!
google avatar

Katherine G.

Yelp
Incredible selection of international candy! Try the Japanese Green Tea chocolates! Spent $112 here, and have not regretted it!
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
The title of this place says it all. It's huge here with more selections that you can think of. Plus there is so much to see when it comes to the decorations. They have full size statues of tons and tons of superheroes!!!!! The whole justice league, avengers, Batman and more!!!! There are lots of animated character murals and statues as well. Then you get to the back area where they have a full size tardis from doctor who and huge ship models hanging from the rotating ceiling. I loved seeing the borg cube and sphere. Oh ya I forgot to talk about the actually food in this location lol. Just come down and see it for yourself. Ask questions because the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I can't wait to go back

Yelp
What? Could this be? A giant candy store located right along Highway 169? You mean this, the largest candy store in Minnesota? Whoa...I better pull over immediately! Lol. Yes, I love candy. So...while driving along my summer road trip I came across this, the official - Minnesota's Largest Candy Store. I had to check this place out. What a bold, right in your face name. To say it drew my attention would be an understatement! Here it was in late afternoon, and I randomly discovered this MLCS. I quickly pulled into the parking lot and even before I went inside, I was already snapping photos of the entrance sign and along the grounds outside the building. I give this store massive credit. They know how to attract attention. The store is painted bright yellow with all sorts of colors. It really stands out. The building is like one giant storage unit in what appeared to house all the candy in the entire world! The whole setup was very clever. Just before entering inside, a song started playing in my head... "come with me, and you'll be, in a world of pure imagination!" Hehehe...alright I'm going a little over the top! But seriously, I felt like my inner child was coming out. Yes, I'm now 43 and a grown adult but this candy store felt like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory all over again. Maybe not as magical as the movie, but still for me...such a pleasant surprise. Now finally entering...I absolutely grabbed a shopping wagon...no, not a shopping basket, but a wagon! I was going all out, give me the big cart! Funny, before I even started shopping, I think I just wandered through the isles taking pictures. It's like, this place had everything! It's just hilarious, all the other customers were shopping for their favorite candies and all I'm busy doing is taking photos up and down the rows with my selfie-stick! I believe I spent a good 30 minutes simply exploring before finally loading up my cart. Btw...just a heads up because I was surprised by this...they only accept cash. Good thing I did have money with me but normally if I were in a local store, I'd never be carrying around the amount of cash I actually had with me while here in Jordan, Minnesota. Oh, and...yes they have an ATM just in case. I will say...prices for the candies were a little elevated. I mean, I guess you're paying for the convenience and for the availability of all these candies that remind you of your childhood, and so a chance to purchase stuff that normally you'd never find anymore at a grocery store, gas station or a place like Walmart...you have to pay up to get your hands on these old-fashioned items. One other thing...inside it's setup like a giant warehouse or say like a Costco where they appear to sell things wholesale, but you can purchase every item individually. Near the front register area were all sorts of drinks and refreshments. Then when heading towards the middle and back sections...it's basically isle after isle after isle... I took my time looking over all the candies. I knew in my head I'd spend around $100...that was sort of my budget. I think, had they let me pay with credit card, I wouldn't have been so self-conscious about the prices. Here was just a sampling of the items I placed in my shopping cart... - chocolate chip cookie dough popcorn, English toffee popcorn, gummy bears cereal (absolutely no nutritional value added!), giant gummy turkey legs, Tell City Honey BBQ pretzels, cookie dough taffy, those old fashioned "mega" candy buttons, all sorts of flavored lollipops, jellybeans, Pez candies, candy cigarettes, some international chocolates I had never heard of, unique cotton candy flavors...and...I think that was about it, lol. So...after spending 30 minutes walking around I used another 45 minutes shopping. Finally, I must mention the charming little mementos and statues situated outside the candy store entranceway... - The World's Largest Jigsaw Puzzle - "Guinness Book of World Records has certified this puzzle, measuring 22 feet, 6 inches long and 6 feet, 3 inches high to be the World's Largest Jigsaw Puzzle". This was great for a photo. - Actually, this is inside...for bathrooms - they also have Minnesota's Largest Porta Potties! Wow...although I never went inside to use them, I would say that they're probably well maintained. I can't remember though if they have real bathrooms. But they do have these giant porta potties, lol. - A giant sized map of the neighborhood of Jordan, Minnesota...a town I didn't know existed. - A Jelly Belly statue - sitting on a bench good for another fun picture. - The official sign stating..."Minnesota's Largest Candy Store". It's situated off to the right-hand side of the parking lot. Imo, this sign is sort of a rite of passage announcing that you have arrived at this landmark attraction. Well. I've said all I could say. One last thing, the store is conveniently located only 40 miles from Minneapolis! Alight, this is Minnesota's Largest Candy Store.

Yelp
What kind of establishment doesn't take any sort of debit or credit card? Simply ridiculous, we are living in the 21st century...
google avatar

Phillip C.

Yelp
Highly impressed by the freshness of the candy. You can tell the candy, items, and sections of the establishment are well kept. I didn't see any items expired or dusty. You can dive deep into the characters and culture of the store or dive deep into the items they have on the shelves. This place also has amazing apples, as its origin is an apple orchard. Warm baked goods are offered that are beautiful. Wonderful place to see your favorite kid characters. Life size super hero's that are fill with amazing detail. The staff are helpful and willing to help no matter what task they're involved in. I had an amazing experience and can't wait to come back when the season opens again.

Yelp
First and foremost, this would most certainly be a 5-star review were it not for the fact that this store does not accept debit/credit. I had to utilize an ATM inside the store (there are many throughout, you won't have to hunt it down), which set me back a $2.95 fee + $2.50 "out of network" fee from my own bank. Talk about a YIKES. In this day and age, it's just a rude choice on the company's part to do that to its consumers. So sorry-not-sorry for losing a star there. Otherwise, this is the perfect tourist trap. Easy to locate on the road considering it's a giant yellow domed structure. There's a lot more going on inside than selling candy. I certainly did not expect to see so many frankly incredible pop culture statues and amazing ceiling art. They have a nautical themed section, a Disney's Frozen section, a superheroes (both Marvel and DC) section, a section with hot air balloons and an animatronic vegetable band, a Harry Potter section, and a space (Star Trek, Star Wars, etc.) section. I particularly geeked out over the U.S.S. Enterprise and Borg cube suspended from the ceiling. I snapped a lot of fun photos, which almost distracted me from shopping, LOL. They also have a few penny press machines and fortune telling machines, a giant gumball machine (the machine is giant, not the gumballs, to clarify, haha). Your kids will definitely be pointing and going "whoa!" if you have them and bring them along. =) There is a good variety of candy available here, including Japanese and Mexican candies. Prices are upper mid-range, but still felt fair considering some of the more obscure treats, but I wouldn't buy regular run-of-the-mill candy bars that you could find at Walmart here. Additional sweets include fresh baked pies, fudge, and cookies galore, plus lots of mixes for baked goods like muffins, pancakes, and bread, plus cocoa powders. They also sell non-sweets like pasta, chips, cheese, sauces, etc. The soda section is solid too, I was able to find Ale-8-1 (normally only sold in Kentucky and Cracker Barrels) even in the orange crème variety, which is one of my favorite beverages. Most of the bottled drinks are not sold cold. Randomly, this place also boasts a huge selection of puzzles (I'm guessing wintertime in Minnesota gets a little boring). Considering the time of year we were visiting, they were also selling a large variety of pumpkins/squash for a reasonable price outside. You don't have to bring them inside to check-out, just inform the cashier how many and what you'll be taking; it's an honor system. Restrooms are available toward the front where the cashiers are. You can grab a hand cart or a small push cart on your way in to make it easier to shop. I know that if I lived in this area, I would most likely make a weekly trip to pick up something new to try out each week. It would take awhile to try it all, that's for sure!
google avatar

Drew M.

Yelp
A really neat experience. If you ever drive past, you will not miss it. HUGE PLACE right off the highway. You could spend anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour here. I would recommend trying to come on a week day as it is unbelievably packed on weekends. There are so many aisles for all kinds of weird flavored candy. Don't expect coming for chocolates, however, because there aren't many selections- more of a place for sugary candies. We ended up getting the peach Kit Kat's and a chocolate chip cream soda. I don't know how else to explain them besides saying they tasted like a literal peach Kit Kat and chocolate soda.
google avatar

Charlotte D.

Yelp
Do what you can to avoid weekend days in September. It had been a good 10 years since my last visit to this store, and all the things I remembered were still there along with SO much more! I went on the last Saturday in September and that was my biggest mistake. The entire experience was just one queue after another.... It's hard to absorb everything in one trip, and honestly the crowds made it hard to see or get to a lot. The staff are most definitely doing everything they can to keep things moving while keeping a good attitude. Even with the insane crowd, it was a fun trip.
google avatar

Jairo F.

Yelp
Anytime they are open, it's well worth the visit. Well organized, clean, and a great place for the kids. Food is great and so is their service.
google avatar

Rebecca Z.

Yelp
There are many different types of candies in prices. They also have cheese and fresh baked goods to. They also have a bunch of places we can take pictures. The service is fantastic The room is filled of happiness and joy, and there's even one of the parts to put one of the parts of the thing is they play music. They do not take checks or debit cards. Only cash but they have an ATM there for you in case you need ATM .

Yelp
Over all the biggest I've ever been to and the prices are pretty fair on most things. Definitely a good way to get your kids to act good.

Yelp
This is well worth the drive!! It's almost a cultural experience - they have candy from ALL over the world!! Plan to spend a good amount of time there - roam through all the isles and try not to get lost! I mean, really, can you go wrong here: A. It's humongous. B. It's full of candy and other tasty drinks/things. C. The people are friendly! D. They are always adding new things. E. The yellow building and the very LARGE sign is definitely a picture worthy stop. F. Did I mention the amount of candy?! G. They have themed rooms! Pro tip: Cash or check only! Be prepared!!

Yelp
It's a fun stop if you are driving by. I think most of it is overpriced. While they literally have every candy, most U can purchase cheaper at Target. Some candies are unique and hard to find unless u get on line. They also have pasta, cake mixes, sodas in all kinds of crazy flavors. There is also a bakery with pies at $14 each. Be sure to plan over an hour to shop and be sure to look up at the ceiling for great superhero and disney art. Someone is getting rich by only taking cash and using an ATM to get cash with a high fee. No cards accepted except the ATM machine.

Yelp
Until this summer/autumn though I'd driven by the place countless times I finally made several stops at this huge, whimsical and overflowing place. Easily identifiable from 169 as a random assortment of yellow colored structures apparently assembled over time. Along the sidewalk is a large collection of stuff for the impulse buyer. Also the management often seems to host events/tents in their parking lot. A long line frequently snakes around the outside of the building though it moves relatively fast given the chance for conversation and things designed to catch the eye. Once inside the variety of goods is to me staggering. What I am sure is the world's largest assortment of pops/sodas fills shelves and coolers. Added is an impressive amount of jellies/preserves, sauces/salsas of all manner, homemade pies fresh from the oven, apples of bewildering variety, delicious fudge that is made into a wide range of flavors, and scattered throughout an array of jigsaw puzzles. These account for a sampling of what is for sale. Oh, and did I mention that candy from around the world may be had. Truly it would appear that if you can't find it here you might not be trying hard enough. Row after row, shelf after shelf chock full of a dizzying assortment of sweets. The store seems crowded but not oppressively so. A random collection of figures, machines and the like are displayed everywhere one looks. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and eager to please in my experience. Multiple visits may be in order because at least I found it easy to overlook sections or offerings. Don't be alarmed by what may appear to be long checkout lines. On the occasion of my visits they seemed to move along well, maybe due in part to their practice of not taking credit cards. For a person that doesn't have a pronounced sweet tooth, I always come back with some items that I really don't need but were tasty indeed.

Yelp
Don't underestimate the size of this store! I loved wandering around and shopping and could easily have spent more time here. They have small gifts and tons of puzzles for sale too so if you're interested in getting a puzzle make sure you're keeping tabs on all the ones you're passing!

Yelp
Woweeee was I in for a treat! I used to work at a candy store at MOA, and customers would always come in asking if I've ever been to Minnesota's Largest Candy Store so of course I had to stop by when I was driving towards Mankato. Outside looks like a big barn, and there were people directing traffic into the gravel lot, but I didn't realize how big it was inside! Not only were there a wide selection of local and international candies, there were also a wide selection of local and international snacks such as cookies and biscuits, specialty sodas of all flavors and brands, pastas, sauces, cheese curds, novelty candies items, popcorn, and so much more! Each section of the store also had different themes with ceilings painted and figures and models of disney, DC and marvel characters, Star Wars, and even a Dr. Who telephone booth. I was in awe... I thought it was just a tourist trap but I found myself enjoying the experience. We spent at least a solid hour and a half or so in there when I expected to be there for only 20 minutes. Only downside is that the place is cash and check only, but there were ATMs scattered everywhere. Probably one of the most, if not the most, fun store I have ever been too. Such a surprise for a store way out in Jordan!

Yelp
BRING CASH. They do not take cards! They have an ATM available if need be. This place is so much fun. They have more than just candy. They have hundreds of puzzles throughout the store (in fact, they literally have a library of puzzles that you can pull out of a wall!), they have fresh baked pies and other goods, pasta kits, all kinds of different sauces for cooking, jams and jellies, spreads, popcorn, dessert kits, chips and other salty snacks, jerky, tons of beverages, toys, gifts, and much more I can't think of! There is something here for everyone. There is so much to look at from their products to the amazing art displayed inside. It's quite the wonderland. So many photo opportunities and memories to be had with your friends and family.

Yelp
I've been buying their pies lately they are awesome. But recently I stopped and got rhubarb pie and a blueberry pie which are my top favorite. I was a little disappointed about the crust on the blueberry pie was a little bit overdone I can't imagine the baker would it ignored that or he did not see it. It was hard to cut into the pie because it was so over baked but the rest of it tasted like a million dollars. I hope Robert will see this I have not seen him in there the last few years when I've been there but anyway. One of my favorite places to go.

Yelp
Awesome selection of candy, chips, soda. We got some candy from Japan and Mexico. As we drove home trying stuff. My nephew (8) said I will try anything in this car people want to share. So fun, must stop if you are in the area.

Yelp
Super fun place to take the family, but they they're not open year round, so I hope you make time to go before the season ends! Aside from huge candy selection, fresh made pies and fun pop culture decor!

Yelp
This place is super fun. In all the times we've brought the kids up to Minnesota, we've never stopped here. I didn't even know it existed until recently. So while my husband & I were in town, we popped in. Picked up quite a few tasty goodies to bring home. We'll definitely stop in again when we are back with the kids. Tons of selections from other countries, lots of pop flavors. And the world's largest port-a-potties (have no fear, the door to the men's & ladies' rooms just look like port-a-potty doors -- but they are actual factual restrooms).

Yelp
Wow!!! I love roadside attractions and this is no exception. Yea it is a little more expensive but it was very cool. My daughter was having candy fits. The selection of nostalgic candy and root beers were fabulous. No they dont take credit cards but who cares. Brought back good memories.

Yelp
While we absolutely love this place and try to make it once a year, just a couple tips they only take cash so make sure you come with a lot because you are going to go hog wild. Keep an eye on that cashier's counting skills we were short changed once. And don't get the apple bread it's pure dough inside.

Yelp
Ridiculously fun stop off the highway. Loved the rarer Japanese candies and the vintage taffy. Clearly a sugar lovers paradise. Everyone takes pictures here. Massive root beer selection. Loved all the jigsaw puzzles for sale. Fresh strudel and pies....oh my! I didn't find any sugar free but that doesn't mean they don't sell it. I would have loved fresh chocolates but didn't see those. Pass on the fresh caramel apples near the check out as the caramel was way too hard. Ignore the people complaining about the gravel lot. It's clearly not a retail plaza ....it's more like a pumpkin patch destination and very apparent.

Yelp
I think I can guarantee that I will never go to this store again. I've driven by so many times, but this is the first time I drove by that they were open! Initially, we had trouble even getting in. People pull in and can't figure out what to do, despite someone standing there directing traffic. Then, we turn down the gravel parking area, and got stuck! The gravel is too large and far too deep. (You can't really even out or fill potholes with this large rock.) So, we got stuck. Just like getting stuck in a mud puddle, except when you help push it out, you get rocks flung at you, instead of mud! I'm not sure which is worse. We found a safe place to park and went inside. The walk is kind of long, but reasonable, and there is a sign half way to the store to stop and take a photo of. We got inside, and they really do have a large selection of candy! It's also fairly expensive, but not as much as you would expect for a novelty store. We found quite a few wonderful treats, such as peanut butter malt balls, cotton candy (in a plastic tub, not any fresh), and "candy sticks" which is what the old fashioned candy cigarettes are now called. We also got sodas. They had a surprisingly small selection, considering their sign stating "World's Largest Soda Selection" or something along those lines. (I am not even sure they are the largest in Minnesota...) It was very crowded inside, but set up well to accommodate the large groups of people. But there were so many children! And children are loud! I know this is common sense, but it was extremely loud in there. Of course, the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend may be one of their busiest times! Check out went quickly. Even though it was busy, they had plenty of cashiers working, so that was nice. Overall, I feel like it is not worth the hassle of getting in there to buy the candy. If the location were better, and/or they pave the parking lot, I may change my mind and go back for some imported chocolates! Or local, hand made ones.

Yelp
This place is very attractive to the eye! I loved the selection and the large iron man in the middle really released plenty of dopamine in my body! Definitely recommend- the very pretty pretzels that have a lot of sprinkles on were cardboard tasting but I'm sure I just got the runt of the batch so no worries!!!

Yelp
When my sister first mentioned taking us to visit this place, we weren't too excited about it. But once we showed up, we were impressed with the fun atmosphere and the large assortment of candies and items from around the US and world. We ended up buying some licorice, larvettes, wine gums, different pez dispensers that the kids got to choose, sour haribos, ... can't remember what else. The aisles are a little too narrow for my personal taste (especially with all the other visitors/tourists), but doable. I'd recommend searching online for the types of candies you might like to see/buy, then walk through the shop to see if you can find it. Or it might be fun to have a little scavenger hunt page for smaller kids to find those candies. Or just leave the kids at home and go yourself to browse.
