Quite possibly the best accommodation where I have ever stayed. The room where my fiance and I stayed was sparking clean, and the folks who run the show are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Minnie Street Inn is clearly a labor of love, and it shows! Pro tip: They offer rooms with a private bathroom OR you can opt for a shared bathroom for a lower price, in case you're on a tighter budget. (We went for the private bathroom though!) I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Fairbanks, and will probably stay here every time I visit.

We stayed in a lovely suite in this Inn, which is a former bed and breakfast. The master suite was elegantly decorated and very comfortable. The suite included a jacuzzi and washer/dryer (although use of the washer/dryer were at a rather high additional cost). Rollaway bed was provided, also at additional cost. Even with the additional costs, the price was one of the better ones for our travels in Alaska, especially for the amount of space. The location was quiet and central to Fairbanks. The owners no longer operate the inn themselves. The current manager got the job done but wasn't very customer service oriented in personality. Overall a great place to stay, especially if you need the extra room and kitchen for small children.

Sensational! Friendly and helpful owners, outstanding design for a B & B and at a great price (breakfast is no longer included and the prices have been more than adequately adjusted). Our room was very large and comfortable and everything that one needed, including unlimited access to the full kitchen that too was fully equipped, was provided. The location is especially good; less than 1/2 mile to the center of downtown Fairbanks, 10 minutes or so to drive to the University of Alaska. We would consider this B&B a "first choice" for lodging in Fairbanks.

The Minnie Street Inn is perfection when it comes to premium lodging in Fairbanks. I recently stayed here and found everything comfortable clean and very welcoming. I was surprised at how nice it it was decorated and equippeded. I made Thanksgiving dinner for my USAF daughter since she won't be home for 2018 holidays and the pansy suite worked out so well. Thank you for your hospitality and consideration. I strongly recommend the Minnie Street Inn, for overnight accommodations in Fairbanks.

Before moving to Fairbanks I went to take a look in the b&b because they rent out furnished apartments as well and I thought that would be a good option to get me started since I was moving from the lower 48. I met the owner, he took me up to show the place and we were making friendly conversation. While I was looking around the owner asks me about my wife. I said I have a husband. Suddenly the atmosphere changes and he says he wants me to see his wife to go over the specifics. He introduces me to her and says "...he and his boyfriend or whatever they call it nowadays...husband...". Then he says that because of my situation they have to discuss the price I would have to pay and see if they want me to rent the apartment. They'd be in touch. Obviously they haven't. Clearly they are not comfortable with gay people in their b&b or apartments. They probably think it's bad for business. My guess is they never heard of equal opportunity housing and other anti discriminatory laws. So if you are gay, have any friends or family or colleagues that are, please stay far away from this place so that they will learn the hard way that you simply can not discriminate anymore in today's society without having to face consequences. Support LGBT rights and book elsewhere. All other people i met in Fairbanks were actually very open and friendly so plenty of alternative, humane options available.

MSI was easy to book last minute and provided a space where I could sleepy soundly. My greatest challenges were getting there (no shuttle service), noise (other guests, creaking/groaning space, persistent host & housekeeping "visit" during important phone calls), and visibly unclean bathroom (dust, hair, grim). I'd still recommend giving it a try because hospitality toward foreigners can be pretty rare up here.

Friendly place with accomodating staff. It feels like staying at your aunt's warm, cozy house with a kitchen fully available and plenty of books to read. I stayed here a year ago and accidentally left my expensive winter boots behind. 12 months later I came back and they had them stored away with other "long term lost items" and it just reminded me of the small town feels that sometimes you need that far north.

We had a great stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was very spacious. We also loved having a hot tub in the room! Thank you!

Yelp
I would definitely stay here again. I picked this place because of the central location, but don't be fooled into thinking you can really walk anywhere in Fairbanks, especially in winter. Everything is quite spread out. My dad and I stayed in the nannyberry room, which had two twin beds and a private bathroom. There was obviously a lot of thought put into everything they provided- there's an outlet with USB ports, many hooks for all your gear, 2 (!) luggage racks, a fridge, sound machine, and an actual alarm clock. You can control the heat within your room, and there's a fan to help circulate. There's also an oscillating fan in the closet. They ask you to take your shoes off outside the room, they can certainly get dirty! I loved the quality of the linens and the thick towels, along with bathrobes. The hosts were fine about us arriving after midnight and left a key and great directions for us. Service could have been a bit more friendly but every question we asked was answered. The one thing missing is displaying or communicating the WiFi password to you. Lots of free parking and definitely a great price.

Yelp
So glad that our plans to come to Alaska in July fell through. When we could come to Alaska, we had to find another place to stay. Thank GOD we found the Minnie Street Inn. This place is over the top. Very very clean, very friend people. You could eat off the floors! Love this place, will definitely be using the Minnie Street Inn. On our next trip to Alaska. I HIGHLY recommend this place I promise you will not regret it!

Yelp
LOCATION : This B&B is located in a neighborhood across the river from downtown (downtown is still easily accessible), which was quiet, convenient and appeared safe (single female traveler and I never felt uncomfortable walking around). A negative is that it directly across the street from a Chevron gas station (not the greatest view from window or patio). INTERIOR : The rooms, public spaces and dining room are all well appointed and clean. Bedding and towels were high quality and themed to each room (which is a nice touch that makes B&Bs in general so nice). I chose a room with a shared bathroom (I'm a female and would be sharing with a man) and was pleased to find this area well tended and clean. PROPRIETORS : Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable not only about local Fairbanks attractions, dining and happenings, but also were able to provide tips for my travels further afield which made those experiences much more enriching! The Inn exudes family comfort and I was honored to meet some of the owner's children during my stay. Warm and welcoming is the feeling you will get during your entire stay.

Yelp
Myself, my one year old, and his father were looking into staying at this bed and breakfast the manager had talked to me on the phone an told me the rates and I asked him if there were rooms available for us and he said yes. So we show up to book a room and the same man who was so polite on the phone turned rude and said they were choosy about who stayed there and turned us away with the two reasons of us having a child and the fact that we were from Alaska . He was very prying and asked some very odd personal questions. I'm frustrated by this, and will never recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
First of all this is not a bed and breakfast. They discontinued providing food a few years ago and presumably lowered the price although we didn't see any evidence of that. Our room and bathroom on the first floor were large and nicely furnished. Be sure to request a room with a private bath or you'll be sharing a bathroom with strangers. A very large common kitchen is nicely equipped. There were however some problems that we found. The bathtub was not cleaned since we found hairs in it before our first use. Also management was AWOL for most of our stay. When we tried to check in we had to call the manager on his desk phone, following printed and posted instructions, indicating this is their routine. Finally, they have a no shoes policy. They request that you leave your shoes at the front door and place them in a small closet. Unfortunately, they don't vacuum or clean the front hall area, resulting in our having to walk in the dirt and sand in our socks or bare feet. This area should be cleaned at least daily if they expect us to take our shoes off.

Yelp
Not true to their word! I called to reserve a room for 5 weeks and was given a quote. I gave them my credit card number and 3 days later Marnie called to tell me her husband made a mistake and it would be over $1500 more than they quoted. It looks like a nice place, but the proprietors are not trustworthy. I will look elsewhere.
