"Escape the hordes of tourists and head east of the city center to Poblenou, a quiet, leafy, residential neighborhood that boasts a number of excellent under-the-radar restaurants. Among them is this gem just off the Rambla del Poblenou—a warm, brick-walled space known for its stellar seafood-laden rices and fideuà (both are similar to paella, but the rices are a bit soupier, while fideuà is made with noodles). Chef Hug Pla Cortes serves up huge steaming pans of the stuff—sharing is compulsory—and his signature Vulcanus black smoked rice, teeming with prawns, mussels, and mushrooms, is a must-order. There’s also a lengthy list of tapas. The menu conveniently outlines which dishes are gluten- or dairy-free, vegetarian, and child-friendly."
Very average Spanish/ Catalan cuisine. Service and ambiente was good but most basic tapas like bravas and pan con tomate was below average. Fresh fish filet was good, steak tartar was OK and the duck looked nice but was quiet challenging to chew. Wine was good. This place has potential but below average compares to other place in Poblenou.

Our hosts recommended this gem, and it quickly became one of our favorite restaurants in Poblenou. During our trip to Barcelona, we dined here twice, and both visits were exceptional. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere inviting, and the service genuinely warm and professional. The standout dish? The squid. Not only was it incredibly fresh, but it was also seasoned to perfection—easily the best I’ve ever had. If you’re in the area, this spot is an absolute must-visit!

Wonderful meal with the family on our last night of vacation. Authentic resto away from the tourist traps. Ambience was great and the food was amazing. Highly recommended if you are looking for a trustworthy dining experience that locals enjoy for a special night out.

Such an amazing culinary experience at Minyam. We ordered a jamón croqueta and a bomba as a starter. So tasty, homemade, fresh and crunchy. Tasting the jamón from the first bite and the bomba was incredible.
Then we proceeded to share a seafood paella.. so best paella I’ve had in 12 days travelling through Spain. It was filled with seafood (mussels, calamari, shrimps …) and vegetables (aubergine, mushrooms, broccoli..), incredibly delicious. Great service, great atmosphere and the staff were very attentive to our needs. Overall top notch experience. Might just come back today or tomorrow before I leave Barcelona.

Nice atmosphere, great food, lovely service. Not like any other tapas bar (and therefore a bit more expensive than average). Every dish is very well curated in all detail. The waiters are friendly and well prepared on food and wine. We had some tapas for starters, and it would have been enough but then we saw how beautiful the main course looked then we decided to go for it.
Absolutely to try: tuna tartare. one of the best I ever had. A bit spicy, with mango.
The stewed meat with smashed potatoes was a surprise. I’ll go back to try the rice, that looked fantastic from other tables.

Lovely service, oysters and seafood. I enjoyed their burrata, tuna and wine thank you! They close during the siesta period and tables can be booked online. The tuna dish could have had more vegetables on the side but they do ask you how you like the tuna cooked 👌. The burrata came with delish picked onions and sundried tomatoes. Nice decor, comfortable seating and friendly waiting staff. Toilets are large and baby changing friendly which is rare to see in many Barcelona restaurants (not that I saw any children during my visit)

The place simply A M A Z I N G! They have all typical Spanish dishes (tapas and rice which is a MUST) and the ambience is super nice.
The service beyond espectacular. We had the pleasure to meet Fabio, Cam and Dani, who gave us the best attention ever.
We tried the patatas bravas, zamburiñas, arroz vulcanus, burrata, entrecot and lubina. All super good, a little but expensive comparing to the average but it was worth it 100%.
A small note I will add is that the fish had a lot bones, so eating it was complicated but tasty.
Overall, very very very good!

The food here is absolutely delicious and the staff are amazing- so friendly and welcoming. We first ordered the oysters with cava deal and the oysters were so fresh, it was a delicious combination to start with. Next we ordered the huevos estrellados, calamares, ceviche Minyam and Abanico de cerdo with chimichurri sauce and each dish was absolutely delicious! We have already came back here twice and ordered all the same as it was so enjoyable.

The rice is outrageous

Yelp
A coworker brought me here for lunch and we had the vegetable paella. It was an unholy slop of rice, mushy vegetables, and some weird oily grossness holding it all together. Also, strangely, a small wedge of fresh arugula (rocket) tossed on only one part of the paella.
After a few scoops, I started feeling ill. For being a vegetable dish, it was so, so heavy.
Maybe there are better things on the menu, but I wasn't impressed in my only visit.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by a friend and we are very happy that we checked it out and that we were able to get in (it was packed on a Wednesday night). The tapas options we tried were excellent but the "vulcanus" rice dish was quite unique and absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful and the overall vibe was very enjoyable (a great Catalan experience).
