22 Best Hotels in Buenos Aires

"Set in a jacaranda-lined block in swanky Recoleta, this 13-story hotel with an opaque-glass exterior and massive front door crafted from French oak wine barrels hints at refined surprises that await inside. The sleek lobby and lounge are composed of metal, glass, wood, and exposed concrete and the crowd is a smartly dressed mix of locals and visitors. Recoleta is the city’s poshest enclave, a place where ladies and gents dressed in their vintage designer threads still meet for coffee at iconic cafes like La Biela, and youngsters hang out with friends at the park, Plaza San Martin de Tours, with its rubber trees planted in the late 18th century. Don’t miss a visit to Recoleta Cemetery, an outdoor maze of small passageways where gorgeous statues and mausoleums in various architectural styles house the remains of Argentina’s prominent figures and very wealthy families." - Celeste Moure

Mio Buenos Aires — Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Why book? A modern refuge where rustic, wine-themed aesthetics and wellness meet in posh Recoleta. Set the scene Set in a jacaranda-lined block in swanky Recoleta, this 13-story hotel with an opaque-glass exterior and massive front door crafted from French oak wine barrels hints at refined surprises that await inside. The sleek lobby and lounge are composed of metal, glass, wood, and exposed concrete and the crowd is a smartly dressed mix of locals in Louis Vuitton and vintage YSL, Latin American couples with well-groomed children, and Gen-Xers in skinny jeans and Stan Lee sneakers. The backstory Winegrower César Catena’s hotel in Buenos Aires occupies some of the country’s priciest real estate, a few blocks from Evita Perón’s final resting place. All rooms have balconies that overlook swanky apartments owned by Argentina’s most patrician families. The rooms The lobby’s modern rustic aesthetic continues within the guest rooms, with its frosted glass doors, metal fixtures and wooden bathtubs hand-carved by Argentine artist Mario Dasso from Calden trees of the Pampas. Every room has an entirely unique textural and varnished work of art you can soak in after a day exploring the city. Elsewhere in the rooms, a mix of concrete and dark-wood walls, silk curtains, and mini bar with Nespresso machines. Food and drink In good weather, breakfast is served in the open-air Patio, with its lush tropical plants and waterfall feature decorated with a giant metal butterfly. But the real draw at Mio is the Verdot Wine Bar, which showcases the best wines from Argentina’s Cuyo and Patagonia region, which pair perfectly with charcuterie and cheese plates. The spa As the name might suggest, 8 th Spa is situated in the hotel’s eighth floor, a tranquil oasis of dimmed lighting, walls and ceiling covered in black stone sourced from the Andean city of San Luis, and a relaxation area at the edge of the small but inviting indoor pool. Signature treatments include a Malbec grape-seed scrub, a Patagonian stone massage, and a chocolate body wrap. The neighborhood/area Recoleta is the city’s poshest enclave, a place where ladies and gents dressed in their vintage designer threads still meet for coffee at iconic cafes like La Biela, and youngsters hang out with friends at the park, Plaza San Martin de Tours, with its rubber trees planted in the late 18 th century. Don’t miss a visit to Recoleta Cemetery, an outdoor maze of small passageways where gorgeous statues and mausoleums in various architectural styles house the remains of Argentina’s prominent figures and very wealthy families. Another worthy place to visit is the Cultural Center housed in a 1732 building (one of the oldest in the city). There’s always something interesting to see and do, from a photography or textile exhibit, hands-on art class, or perhaps a lecture by a visiting artist. The service The staff is attentive and professional." - Celeste Moure

We had a fantastic stay. The front desk/concierge staff were amazing - very kind and helpful. They also happened to be fluent in English which was a big help for us. Loved the room and the balcony. Breakfast was top notch, as was the wine bar. The hotel was kind enough to let us store some bags there while we were away for a few days in Mendoza before returning to Buenos Aires. The location is perfect, it's in a beautiful part of Recoleta and an easy walk or cab ride to all Buenos Aires has to offer.

Just back from a week spent immersed in Buenos Aires. We definitely made the right decision in booking Mio Buenos Aires. The location was fantastic, on beautiful Av. Pres. Manuel Quintana. A short 2 block walk to the park fronting Recoleta Cemetery offered an idyllic place to sit on a bench and people and dog watch! On Saturday and Sunday, there was a fair of vendors lining the many sidewalks! The service at Mio was top notch. Melina and Luz were lovely to us, as were all of the staff from the doormen, to the other associates at the desk, to the housekeeping staff. One night, we decided to order a pizza and Luz was instrumental in getting the order placed for delivery! Our room was a suite with all the space and amenities we could need. The bed was luxurious and comfortable, the wooden bathtub was AWESOME! (Something about wood keeping the water warm for a long time maybe?!?) And the sauna and views from our sixth floor balcony were magnificent. If there was anything we needed, we simply asked and it was fulfilled! An absolutely lovely boutique hotel with true professionals staffing it. When we go back to B.A., we will most certainly stay there again!

The Breakfast Ladies, Luna, Meli, Noe, and Atel are beyond wonderful! Breakfast was better here than eating out. They were accommodating and remembered our orders every morning. They even had a coloring book and crayons ready for my 5 year old. Wonderful experience and time, thank you!

Lovely hotel. Great position. Very friendly staff. Everyone was so helpful and happy to be doing their jobs. The breakfast team was exceptional especially Luna. The rooms are large with a bit of an unusual layout. A very different bath experience. Bar & restaurant were outstanding. Def worth a stay.

Mio Buenos Aires is a pleasant contemporary hotel, well-located in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Breakfast is very well done and was a highlight of our mornings. Staff are pleasant and our room was clean and generally well-appointed. The only negative in the room is the shower floods the rest of the bathroom, an inherent design issue. ||As an additional recommendation, while we think some people would appreciate the large patio of the Terrace Suite, we agree with some previous reviewers that it is quite exposed (although a screen partially blocks you from apartments across the way, the rest of the hotel can look directly down onto your patio) and does not have a good view. We didn't think it was worth the extra cost.

The staff is extremely helpful. The accommodations are very nice. The huge wood tub was so nice to relax in after a long day of walking. The breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, cheese, breads, pastries and more. The spa is tranquil and the massage delightful. It is very quiet, perfect after a long day.

The Mio is a truly outstanding hotel and we are so pleased that we chose the Mio Hotel for our stay in Buenos Aires. The room was very spacious and well appointed. The bed is firm and with feather pillows, you are set up for a great night’s sleep. All of the Staff Members were great and very helpful. Melina on the Reception Desk was extremely helpful and assisted us with so many of our questions. Eziquel, also went the extra distance is assisting us. Housekeeping did a magnificent job in servicing our room. The breakfast in the Verdot Restaurant is superb and there is a wide choice of hot and cold foods. Also the waitstaff in Verdot were excellent, with special mention for Axel, who assisted us every morning with our coffee orders. Lzuya, Zoe and Meli, were always so pleasant on a morning and assisted us with our breakfasts. The Mio is set in a great location in Recoleta, with easy walking to nearby cafes, shops and restaurants.
