The 28 Best Hotels in Buenos Aires for Foodies, Tango Enthusiasts, and Architecture Lovers | Condé Nast Traveler

"On a jacaranda‑lined block in swanky Recoleta, this 13‑story stay hides refined surprises behind an opaque‑glass exterior and a massive front door crafted from French oak wine barrels. Inside, a sleek lobby and lounge in metal, glass, wood, and exposed concrete draw a smartly dressed mix of locals and visitors. Recoleta’s posh cafe society is on full display nearby—iconic La Biela, Plaza San Martín de Tours with its centuries‑old rubber trees—and you shouldn’t miss the remarkable Recoleta Cemetery just up the road." - Celeste Moure

Mio Buenos Aires — Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Why book? A modern refuge where rustic, wine-themed aesthetics and wellness meet in posh Recoleta. Set the scene Set in a jacaranda-lined block in swanky Recoleta, this 13-story hotel with an opaque-glass exterior and massive front door crafted from French oak wine barrels hints at refined surprises that await inside. The sleek lobby and lounge are composed of metal, glass, wood, and exposed concrete and the crowd is a smartly dressed mix of locals in Louis Vuitton and vintage YSL, Latin American couples with well-groomed children, and Gen-Xers in skinny jeans and Stan Lee sneakers. The backstory Winegrower César Catena’s hotel in Buenos Aires occupies some of the country’s priciest real estate, a few blocks from Evita Perón’s final resting place. All rooms have balconies that overlook swanky apartments owned by Argentina’s most patrician families. The rooms The lobby’s modern rustic aesthetic continues within the guest rooms, with its frosted glass doors, metal fixtures and wooden bathtubs hand-carved by Argentine artist Mario Dasso from Calden trees of the Pampas. Every room has an entirely unique textural and varnished work of art you can soak in after a day exploring the city. Elsewhere in the rooms, a mix of concrete and dark-wood walls, silk curtains, and mini bar with Nespresso machines. Food and drink In good weather, breakfast is served in the open-air Patio, with its lush tropical plants and waterfall feature decorated with a giant metal butterfly. But the real draw at Mio is the Verdot Wine Bar, which showcases the best wines from Argentina’s Cuyo and Patagonia region, which pair perfectly with charcuterie and cheese plates. The spa As the name might suggest, 8 th Spa is situated in the hotel’s eighth floor, a tranquil oasis of dimmed lighting, walls and ceiling covered in black stone sourced from the Andean city of San Luis, and a relaxation area at the edge of the small but inviting indoor pool. Signature treatments include a Malbec grape-seed scrub, a Patagonian stone massage, and a chocolate body wrap. The neighborhood/area Recoleta is the city’s poshest enclave, a place where ladies and gents dressed in their vintage designer threads still meet for coffee at iconic cafes like La Biela, and youngsters hang out with friends at the park, Plaza San Martin de Tours, with its rubber trees planted in the late 18 th century. Don’t miss a visit to Recoleta Cemetery, an outdoor maze of small passageways where gorgeous statues and mausoleums in various architectural styles house the remains of Argentina’s prominent figures and very wealthy families. Another worthy place to visit is the Cultural Center housed in a 1732 building (one of the oldest in the city). There’s always something interesting to see and do, from a photography or textile exhibit, hands-on art class, or perhaps a lecture by a visiting artist. The service The staff is attentive and professional." - Celeste Moure

The hotel is very well located. Firstly, it's right next to a cemetery, a park with a metal flower, an art museum, and surrounded by all sorts of restaurants and shops. The clock tower, famous palaces, and a very famous library are all within walking distance, and the Congress Building and Palazzo Barollo are also within reach. Our room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the service excellent. The breakfast was decent, and you can order from the menu. The Rufino restaurant is delicious with a good wine selection. Our room was on the terrace floor, a wonderful opportunity to relax with a glass of wine. On the day of our departure, we visited the spa because it was raining and we were too cold to walk around, and there were a few hours left before our flight. We were greeted rather unkindly, told we could only take a shower. But since there weren't many people around, we managed to arrange to spend a couple of hours by the pool. I'm probably downgrading the service for this - for a five-star hotel that's a bit rude.

We stayed three nights in this hotel. The service was outstanding - we felt like the front desk staff in particular were actively watching for ways to be helpful. The room was large and quiet. Breakfast was a delicious buffet with fresh fruits, pastries and cheeses as well as eggs made to order. We were pleasantly surprised by the use of the small spa facilities which were a nice break on a cold rainy day. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was so great and centrally located. Walking distance from fun restaurants and bars, the cemetery, and really great shopping! The wine bar in the hotel lobby was excellent and the empanadas were soooooo yummy!

I loved this hotel, stayed for 5 days in October 2025 following a work conference. Comfortable bed, excellent service by everyone at the hotel from reception to housekeeping, and the best breakfast I’ve had anywhere. Thank you so much for making my first visit to Buenos Aires so perfect!

Just back from a week spent immersed in Buenos Aires. We definitely made the right decision in booking Mio Buenos Aires. The location was fantastic, on beautiful Av. Pres. Manuel Quintana. A short 2 block walk to the park fronting Recoleta Cemetery offered an idyllic place to sit on a bench and people and dog watch! On Saturday and Sunday, there was a fair of vendors lining the many sidewalks! The service at Mio was top notch. Melina and Luz were lovely to us, as were all of the staff from the doormen, to the other associates at the desk, to the housekeeping staff. One night, we decided to order a pizza and Luz was instrumental in getting the order placed for delivery! Our room was a suite with all the space and amenities we could need. The bed was luxurious and comfortable, the wooden bathtub was AWESOME! (Something about wood keeping the water warm for a long time maybe?!?) And the sauna and views from our sixth floor balcony were magnificent. If there was anything we needed, we simply asked and it was fulfilled! An absolutely lovely boutique hotel with true professionals staffing it. When we go back to B.A., we will most certainly stay there again!
