On the Grid : Miradouro da Vitória

"If you are passionate about photography, or if you just want to glimpse the amazing scenic views, this is a place not to be missed. Feel the pace of the city from above. Take in the architecture of Ribeira, watch the river flow from afar accompanied by its bridges and wine lodges on the other side. You can see it all from here." - Ana Bárbara & Armindo Araújo

It’s a view point. To get there there are narrow streets and stairs. Not so much shadow but a tree is here. Nice place to visit and have a look where you were before in the city.

Lovely view, but dirty and not kept. The beautiful building remains a ruin which should be deeply embarrassing for the city.

Miradouro da Vitória offers a beautiful panoramic view of Porto. Just next to the viewpoint, there’s a historical church that was once attacked with a cannonball. After renovations, a replica of the cannonball was placed on the building as a tribute, adding a unique historical touch to the visit.

Well worth the 1hr+ wait. Lunch was excellent, packed with flavour. The owner (chef) took time to speak with every customer and was very happy to explain his dishes. Service was very welcoming and attentive - all the staff were happy and smiling. Great value. Whenever I return to Porto, I will take lunch here.

This is a scenic viewpoint located on the former site of the Vitória Battery, a 17th-century military fortification that was once part of Porto’s defensive walls. In 1997, the space was opened to the public and transformed into a freely accessible viewpoint. From here, visitors can enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Porto and the Douro River. It's a relatively quiet spot, ideal for peacefully taking in the landscape — especially around sunset, when the soft light and city lights create a romantic atmosphere. Note: Be aware that someone may persistently ask for money in this area.

Nice view of the river and the church! But a bit rubbish on the ground (I would guess from the tourists). Caution: They sell handmade jewelry there. It looks nice but leaves your finger green at the end of the day. Even though the seller told me it doesn’t. Talking from experience.

Awesome Miraduro right before descending from upper Porto down into the promenade. Can see the river, point Luis, and all of the major port wine facilities, caves, and tasting rooms on the south side of the river. Perfect location for one last sweeping view of the river and town
