Wow! What a great find! We came to Positano toward the end of tourist season (end of October) but we were lucky enough to still have warm weather without the crazy crowds that I'm sure swarm this place during summer. Anyways, we stayed at a hotel nearby (Hotel Vittoria) and were trying to find a new place to eat, as we had tried a couple nearby and many others were closed around us. The first time we came here, it was after a not so great dinner at a nearby restaurant. We needed some wine and whiskey and place to unwind, and we found Mirage restaurant. We took the elevator of Hotel Posa Posa to the fourth floor to get to Mirage Restaurant. The views were spectacular. We got seated immediately along the balcony overlooking the hillside and sea. The pricing was very normal for Positano (the same as we paid for a street view). We were so happy with our drinks that night, so we made a reservation for the following night for dinner. The place was never packed (because it was the end of the tourist season), so we had the place mostly to ourselves despite two other tables on the massive rooftop patio. The servers are very friendly. We ordered a bottle of wine and the shrimp and vegetable tempura to start. Delicious! The best seasoned tempura I've ever had. They also treated us to pizzettes (small fried dough with red sauce, cheese, and basil) - tasted exactly like a fluffy pizza. Yum!! Then we ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce and cheese on top. It was so tasty. My husband inhaled it. I ordered the risotto with shrimp and lemon. There was a ton of shrimp and just the right amount of lemon. Both dishes were absolutely, positively delicious. I'm happy our server recommended we hold off on ordering the steak to share (he suggested that the plates were large and filling and we could always order more after our pasta course). And boy oh boy, we're glad he did hold us back because we were stuffed. We finished with a delicious panna cotta with forest berry sauce. Perfect balance between sweet and tart. We loved it so much that we're going back tonight for our final meal in Positano
