We spent ages deciding on where to stay in Rio and were so pleased we chose this hotel as our stay was perfect.|We had a beautiful big, comfortable room facing Copacabana beach. The room was spotlessly clean with a very large comfortable bed and everything needed was provided. The sun rise which we watched from our room was spectacular. We found all the staff in the hotel amazing and that made our stay. The people on the front desk were so helpful and so were the restaurant staff and porters. All the porters greeted us with smiles when we went in and out and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, what a selection of everything including loads of lovey fresh fruit, nuts and seeds. There was also hot food. |This is an extremely well run and managed hotel and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we return to Rio which is the most beautiful city we’ve been to and despite warnings we felt safe there.|One tip for getting around easily is use Uber, compared to at home they are unbelievably cheap.

Very impressive hotel, comfortable and safe. Staff super helpful from taking in luggage to booking taxis to restaurants and giving advice on the locale. Breakfast buffet was excellent, fresh fruit, juices and tasty bread. View from pool incredible and the bar there was a great way to end the night (as we weren’t out partying). We had a partial view of the beach, which was just amazing. Super location in a good area of Copacabana, easy beach access with a reserved area for the hotel.||A thoroughly great stay in Rio, would totally recommend.

As a first-time visitor to Rio, I was glad that we chose Miramar as our hotel. It is ideally located around the midpoint of Copacabana Beach. We had a deluxe ocean-view room with fantastic views of the beach. All the staff was friendly, attentive and efficient, especially the concierge.||The complimentary buffet breakfast was fantastic and had a wide variety of options. I especially enjoyed the detox juice, the local fruits such as papaya, guava and mango, and the variety of bread. The service in the restaurant was excellent.||We were also treated to complimentary chocolates in our room which was a nice touch.||If you like to drink something hot before bed, please note that there is no kettle in the room and there is a cost to use the coffee maker. As a result, we had to order tea and hot chocolate from room service most nights. I found their service to be excellent as our orders were always delivered promptly.

Stayed for 3 nights with a friend during a week in Rio, this was one of the best hotel experiences I have had. The rooms are cleaned daily and the rooftop pool and bar being attached to the sauna is great, the breakfast was the best I had in Brazil. I also left my beats headphones in the room and came back 2 days later to find that they had been handed in and kept safe. The staff really went the extra mile, Thank you to Caleb for being a great host to us also

The hotel and staff were terrific! We were welcomed and treated like royalty from the time our car arrived at the hotel. A welcome glass of champagne was a great way to end a long day of travel. The restaurant, food, and service were top notch. I would highly recommend the hotel.

When I think about Rio, one of the first things that come into my mind is my stay in Miramar hotel. I loved that we chose this hotel because the staff was amazing. I loved how they were always willing to help if we had any questions. Also the hotel was super clean! after a long day, I loved going back to a clean room and the free desserts they’d leave on the counter lol. To top it off it’s on the copacabana strip!! So close to restaurants, grocery store, convenient store, atm, all the stores you need basically. ||If I were to go back to copacabana ide go back to this hotel in a heart beat. ||P.S Nicolas was our favorite

Hands down, the nastiest hotel we have ever experienced. It is incomprehensible that this is a 5-star hotel. The hotel staff and in particular the managers, were arrogant, nasty, and low class. The most noteworthy was the night manager, Mr. Joao Ferraz. He refused to give us the room we had paid for, blamed us for his error, and called the police on us for lying on the couch in the lobby, at 3 am, while we waited for him to get us a room. When we checked out, also at 3 am to catch an early flight, he delayed us by, again calling the police, saying we owed $100 for the minibar, which was a complete fabrication. How a purported 5-star hotel hires, trains, and maintain staff that behaves this way is beyond belief. The hospitality industry is usually where we meet a county's best and friendliest people. Miramar by Windsor is a terrible reflection on Brazil. Only book this hotel if you are a masochist.

I am pleasantly surprised to have loved this hotel! They let me dine before the 10:30 am breakfast closed when I arrived off a red eye from NYC via São Paulo, and I was able to access my room early too. The pool up top is a gem, and the steam room gets really hot. Location along Copacabana Beach is perfect such that I could walk that beach as well as meander over to Ipanema. There is a supermarket around the corner. Due to a cloudy afternoon I did not avail myself of the beach chairs and towels though was glad to have had that option. 4th floor side street room was quiet. Nice stone work in the bathroom, and the shampoo, soap, lotion, and conditioner were great. Obrigada!

Yelp
My friend and I had a wonderful few nights at this hotel. The level of service was unmatched. Daniela at the front desk was amazing and made sure we had a lovely stay from start to finish. The views from our room were absolutely stunning, I will never forget watching that sunrise over the ocean.

Yelp
We were very happy with this quite affordable beachfront hotel on Copacabana. Service was excellent from the front desk to doormen to restaurant servers. The breakfast buffet was of good quality and the rooftop pool area - amazing views, small pool, and bar - terrific as well. We weren't intending to stay on Copacabana, but limited hotel rooms in Ipanema made us look here. The Miramar by Windsor is on the far side of Copacabana, closer to Ipanema (only a short Uber or nice walk) and Arpoador. We loved the oceanfront corner room with spectacular Rio views, 24 hour surf sounds, and sunlight on two sides. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This is an amazing luxury hotel in the perfect location. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and up to date. The view from our room of Copacabana was amazing. Drinking caipirinhas in the pool while viewing the beachside was incredible. The restaurants located on the ground floor and the rooftop are excellent. Next we are in Rio we will be staying here again.

Yelp
Our travel agent booked this hotel for our 3 night stay in Rio. LOCATION: More towards the southern end of Copacabana Beach, as oceanfront as you can get. ATMOSPHERE: The city hotel rises about 15 levels high. The lobby is small and includes the reception desk which also handles concierge needs, a tiny bar that was never occupied and the main restaurant. On the rooftop is a small rectangular pool with a two-level bar that sports gorgeous views of Copacabana Beach & Sugarloaf Mountain. A tiny gym included some treadmills, one or two weight machines and a sauna. SERVICE: José David checked us in, gave great info on included daily breakfast, WiFi, etc. Other staff were helpful with restaurant recommendations and currency exchange, though some weren't too smiley. I forgot the name of the male associate who checked us out, but he was very professional and prompt. Hostess greeting at the breakfast buffet was always smiley and welcoming. Bellman service was top notch. ROOM: Our view was ocean front, though there are no balconies, only pop-open windows. The room was very clean and quiet, a/c & free WiFi were strong and the king bed comfy. Pillows were a little flat. Free bottled water was given upon request. A mini bar was available but I didn't see a price list. The flat TV had one English language program which was CNN. A small safe was available and easy to operate. BATHROOM: Loved it! The shower water pressure was strong, as were the toilet, bidet and sink. The hot water took a while to come on for a 6:30am shower one day but was problem free otherwise. Bath amenities were subtly fragranced. A powerful hair dryer was available. My only complaint we're about the towels, which were so new and fluffy that they never dried us or itself nicely. I could at times smell a strong bleach odor coming from the tap water. Though we used it to shower and brush our teeth, we drank from the bottle. BREAKFAST BUFFET: Wow, what a spread! From breads, cheeses, fruits and cereals, to an omelette station, waffles and pancakes. Food quality was good as was the service. Located in the restaurant on the lobby level. ROOFTOP BAR: Gorgeous views yet dead slow. If this place were in Anywhere, USA it'd be full of vivacious youngens. Oh well, better for us! Drink prices were fair. TIPS: Uber is widely available in Rio and insanely affordable compared to the US. Rides at any time of day to popular attractions ranged from $5 to $7. Take advantage! Need drop-off laundromat service? Check out Lavanderia Mordomia, two blocks south of the hotel on a side street (R. Francisco Sá). Affordable and our clothes came back clean, neatly folded and in great shape. Late night dinner? Head to El Born, a few blocks north on a safe side street. We had a great meal. Open till 1am. A pharmacy and drug store are located on the same block west of the hotel along Av. Nosa Sra. de Copacabana. I needed emergency OTC medication and got it fulfilled. Try to pay with cash. My credit card got compromised while in Rio and I'm not sure where it happened, so this tip appears on all my reviews where I paid with it. OVERALL: Nice accommodations, good location.

Yelp
This hotel is within walking distance to the beach but the area surrounding the hotel isn't particularly nice. Our room was fine and the room and bedding didn't smell. The bathroom is a decent size with good shower pressure. The lobby is pretty small with a restaurant behind the reception. We had dinner there. The service was very good at the restaurant but the food was just okay. Complimentary breakfast is okay with eggs made to order. Everything about the hotel was just okay and nothing really stood out.

Yelp
We were welcomed with a glass of champagne at the front desk - gotta love it. The room was clean and spacious with a desk area, fridge, and most importantly, the bathroom had a bidet feature. YES!!! All hotels really need to have this and I just love how Brazil GETS it. We had a king room on the 9th floor. It was clean and well appointed. Our room looked over the side street in front of the hotel with a partial view of Copacabana beach to the right. The hotel also has a decent gym and a beautiful rooftop infinity pool. The views of the ocean and beach from the pool level are gorgeous! Location is excellent with shopping and restaurants within walking distance. It is right across the street from the beach/ocean. We had the buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant in the morning and it was delightful. There was more champagne at the breakfast bar and a large variety of hot and cold items including fresh fruits and pastries. There is a cooked to order omelette station as well. Overall nice stay and would definitely return.

Yelp
Stay away! Nickel and dime you...AC never worked, TV cable was out the entire stay, excuses upon excuses.....saw a guest robbed on street and hotel staff did nothing. Was on a contract so I didn't pay them for the room otherwise I would have walked. Manager never available to speak to "always busy" what a crock. I will never stay at this establishment nor will my Company or fiends. Period! Over billed upon checkout front desk act stupid and just expect you to pay it. Never again!!!!!

Yelp
Had a hard time trying to decide where to stay in Rio: Ipanema or Copacabana? Well with this hotel, the choice is Copacabana, but Ipanema is a short 5-10 mins walk. So you get both! We were there just a couple of weeks ago. It is winter in Rio so we were not able to play in the water (too cold for us). But it got warm to high 70s and low 80s so we were able to enjoy the sun on the beach a couple of days (hotel provides towels, chairs, umbrella free). It was foggy and cloudy the other times but no matter. As for the hotel, we really enjoyed our stay here. The roof is of course the highlight. With pool, restaurant, lounge and AMAZING views of Copacabana beach and mountains afar. Behind you can see a favela, beautifully situated on a hill. We had an ocean view king room and thought it was worth it. Room was super quiet. Everything was great, no complaints. Breakfast buffet was included, and it was also very good. Lots of choices. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Miramar. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My wife & I chose Rio De Janeiro for our honeymoon spot. MiraMar by Windsor was our hotel and really thankful we chose this spot!! First of all, the service is outstanding here, every employee is willing to go the extra mile to help you with whatever you want plus they speak English here so it's a big plus (Portuguese is the main language). Our room was spacious and had a side view with a Mini bar, two closets, king bed and spacious bathroom as well. The best thing was the rooftop which had a breathtaking view, awesome pool, and again excellent service. They're open 24/7 with wifi access everywhere in the hotel. They want to Help and they help with taxis, spots to go to, & tours. Last thing is the amazing breakfast. Fruits, pancakes, waffles. Fresh omelette ready to be made & also crepes (big fan of crepes). The tours were awesome as well, just ask the front desk and they will show you the tours they have, and the prices are alright compared to American dollars! Overall experience: awesome!!

Yelp
Terrible experience. Overpriced, fees added at every turn, they don't allow you to have friends in your room. They charged extra to have 2 people sleep in a double room...when it has two beds. Staff is rude, disrespectful and don't know how to run a hotel

Yelp
We arrived late in Rio that's why we decided to checkout the restaurant at the hotel we were staying at. That was an excellent choice! Everything was just perfect. The waiters are all very attentive. We both went for the lobster and a chardonnay recommended by the waiter. That was very wise. The wine was an excellent combination with that dish. I can highly recommend this place. No doubts, if I'll ever come back to Rio I would definitely go there again.

Yelp
Clean, tidy and good size rooms. Newly renovated. They upgraded us to a King bed which was a blessing, though the view from the room wasn't great. Concierge was very helpful! Breakfast is also lovely. Staff are friendly and good amenities. Though, the pool is very small. The area isn't the best but easy to walk everywhere.

Yelp
Very friendly staffs. Clean and roomy. They allowed me to check out at 4:00pm due to the last minute change of my flight. Beautiful rooftop swimming pool in town. Highly recommended.

Yelp
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, and it's only night 1! To start, we were politely and pleasantly greeted right when we arrived. And they served us each a glass of champagne! The breakfast is amazing. Seriously one of the best spreads I've ever had. Omelettes, bacon, eggs - you name it. It's buffet style but wonderful service too. The rooms are very nice as well. Very classic yet modern style with lovely, spacious bathrooms. Also a great view on the side of the beach. I'm really glad we chose this hotel!

Yelp
Didnt stay at the hotel, but had dinner at the restaurant. Not highly recommended. Limited choice.

Yelp
We chose a room with a view of the ocean, not a side view, the room is large with a king bed, desk. 2 closets, mini bar, double sink bathroom with shower/tub. Great breakfast included with price of room. Lots of fruit, made to order omelets, pancakes, etc. The staff is very attentive and most everyone speaks some English. The location of the hotel is perfect, directly across from Copacabana beach where the hotel has chairs and umbrellas for you to use at no cost. They even bring you little fruit cups and bottled water at no charge while you're on the beach. The pool area is small and the service there is a little slow but the view is gorgeous! We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. Very classy hotel. Also free wifi that works! Will have to say the Ipanema beach and area is much trendier, better restaurants, shopping and cooler beach by far than Copa. Be sure to walk down there or take a quick cab ride.
