Mirisawetiya stupa

Visited Mirisawetiya and felt truly blessed. The calm and serene environment brings so much peace to the heart. A sacred and beautiful place in Anuradhapura.

This is an incredible place I traveled to, and it left a lasting impression on me. The large stupa was built by King Dutugamunu, one of the greatest kings in Sri Lankan history. The atmosphere around the stupa is very calm and peaceful, making it a perfect place for worship and reflection. If you are a Buddhist, visiting and worshiping here is a must, as it connects you deeply with the faith and history of our country. I truly recommend visiting this sacred site, not only for its religious value but also to witness the incredible heritage of Sri Lanka. Standing here, you can feel both the power of history and the peace of spirituality. 🙏✨

Usually it's not crowded as other places unless it's a poys day, Blessed place.

Built by King Dutugemunu after defeating King Elara. 20 ha in size this complex has been renovated from time to time. Much folklore surrounds this stupa.

Fantastic temple. Free parking on the upside and also free entry. You’ll of course have to cover shoulders and knees and take the shoes and caps of. Better to visit early as the bear foot thing kinda gets hot mid day. The locals are so lovely and you may be asked for some pictures. There’s also lots of monkeys
