We decided to visit the old city of Trogir on recommendation of our local guide from Split.
It is off season in December so the pier was full of yachts preparing for the next season.
Some of the yachts were dazzling!
We decided to have lunch in front of these beautiful boats at the Mirkec.
It was another magnificent sunny winters day. Along the promenade the locals drank coffee and chatted.
We were after something more serious. A bottle of wine and a tasty lunch.
To our pleasure Mirkec delivered authentic flavoured Italian dishes, among the best I have had outside of Italy itself. A definite must if you like pasta. We tried the tagliatelle as a take away after we had scampi soup and local pasta with beef and mushrooms. All magnificent.
We managed again to find a wonderful Croatian Chardonnay.
Our waiter, Andrija, could not have been more friendly and accomodating. The longer we stay in Croatia the more we become intoxicated by its people, culture and abundance of naturals beauty.
Of course then there is the history of Trogir….
