Miroku Nara by THE SHARE HOTELS (Nara, Nara Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Share Hotels are the Japanese boutique-hotel brand we always wished for — connected to tradition, sure, but unafraid to experiment with the forms and concepts of 21st-century hospitality. Their hotel in Nara, the ancient capital of Japan, is rather more on the historically-informed side than, say, their Tokyo outposts, but that’s just as it should be. Miroku Nara by The Share Hotels is the work of an all-star team of young and hip architects, designers, and art and music curators, and the hotel’s ceramics, textiles, and cuisine are no less thoughtfully conceived. Nara may be rooted particularly deeply in the past, but this is the city at its most modern." - Tablet Hotels

Modern stylish hotel. Room was spacious with panoramic view. Cozy comfortable matres and soft pillow.Very hospitality staff. In every moment try to help you. You may see Nara deers from cafe terrace. Convenient and quiet location. Not too many tourists. Grocery and a lot of deers near.Paid parking about 700 yens per weekday.I couldn't eat Japanese breakfast. It was too conceptual and unusual. But western breakfast is ok. I recommend you not to pay for hotel breakfast. Because of its unpalatable and at a high price for this place. Handy laundry. One washing costs 600 yens.

Super recommended the Japanese style suite!!! Huge, super comfortable, gorgeous interior... The position is also very comfortable, just a short walk from Nara park going upwards. Though, it's is a bit steep, so be mindful of that. Also very close to the busiest streets of Nara where we went to plenty of good restaurants (recommended Hirasu, trust me) The lady was also very nice and I like that they have a sort of restaurant themselves that is very accessible. If I ever find myself again In Nara, trust that this is where I'll go again.

I would say that this is one of the best hotels I have been to. Clean and modern. In honor of my birthday I received a coupon for a drink. In the morning there were no deer and the terrace was closed, which made me a little sad, but in the evening of a previous day it was open and the deer were nearby.

Location is great, but smoking area is right outside the entrance. You need to walk through everyone’s smoke to leave. The lady at reception was very rude. I wanted to extend my checkout by an hour and when I told her the price was high she just laughed in my face. I told her I didn’t think the situation was funny, and she just kept laughing. Very strange behaviour from a hospitality service

I would strongly advise against booking this hotel. If you encounter any issues or require assistance, expect to be ignored. I attempted to cancel my reservation more than 24 hours before arrival, but received no response to multiple messages. This is far below the standard of customer service Japan is known for and certainly not what travelers should expect. To make matters worse, the hotel canceled my reservation themselves, charged the full amount, and as a result, Booking.com did not allow me to leave a review. A clever tactic on the hotel's part, but it only highlights their lack of transparency, poor customer service, and questionable business ethics. Extremely disappointing experience.

The room was so comfortable and beautiful, I am glad to stay here. The staff were nice but it would be even better with a few more smiles 😊 There is a grassland just next to the hotel where u can see deer 🦌, so good 👍

I would say at this point I’m an experienced traveller, but furthermore, as a designer and someone that’s been in the service industry for most of my life, I can critique fairly. This is my opinion on a particular room and not so much the hotel as a whole. I booked a superior room. At almost 54,000 yen a night. We got room 002 in the basement. A dark dingy room with a terrible layout and design. The beds are positioned in front of the toilets and bathroom. Two doors side by side at the foot of the bed. One is the toilet, one is the bathroom with sink. If you use the toilet, you have to leave that room to go into the bathroom to wash your hands. I understand the concept of separate toilets but usually there is a sink inside or else the whole bathroom is in a room with the toilet being in a separated part. Here you enter and leave toilet to bathroom crossing in front of the bed. Next there is the horrendous air conditioning vent that makes so much noise, it’s like a freight train above your head as you sleep. The room is damp and feels like you are in a hole. The beds are bad… hard, uncomfortable. There is a TV…. Around the corner on a wall that you would never use because it’s in an awkward place where there is a table with two chairs. You would never sit there and watch TV… from bed maybe but instead you get to watch your roommate use the bathroom for entertainment. There are jugs for water in the fridge but you have to go out of your room to get it. Why they place empty water jugs in the fridge without at least giving you them full is beyond me. As for the rest of the hotel. It’s beautifully designed and we enjoyed the cafe on the main floor. The views of the deer are fun and add a serene quality. Check out is 10:00am which is an hour earlier than most hotels. This means you have to check out while at or before breakfast and have them keep your bags. Having said that good luck trying to get breakfast. We went up at 9:00am to try and grab some and they said it was sold out. Not sure how that happens. It was practically empty. At check in, which in our case was done by an actual person, no one mentioned you needed to make a reservation or warned us about how breakfast works. Terrible customer service Overall, I find this hotel far too expensive for what it is and would warn you to check which room you book. It’s more of a hostel than a proper hotel.

Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. We booked a double queen room, but aside from the name, there’s not much “queen” about it. The room felt very cramped and uncomfortable — a narrow corridor, no closets, and no proper space to store luggage. Our suitcases blocked the walkway and even made it hard to open the door properly. Although the hotel seems relatively new, the walls already show signs of wear — white spots on the dark grey walls were very noticeable and gave the room a neglected feel. In the bathroom, there was only one hook for towels — not ideal when staying with my son. We had to hang our towels one over the other, which isn’t very hygienic or convenient. Spending three days in such a tight space was definitely a challenge. The location is perfect! On the very edge between city and forest, but in a short walking distance from the main shopping area.
