This shop is simply a must go place. The owner is extremely kind and acknowledged about all the world of Mezcal, we end up trying some sample and we decided wich Mezcal was more our taste to bring back home. Forget about the other shop that they sell only one brend, come here and get the best options in the market, with a really spectacular selection!!

Discovering artisanal mezcal for the first time, I found Mismezcales’ selection outstanding—rich, diverse, and full of character. Yet the seller’s condescending tone was off-putting: when I mentioned “smoky” as a flavor, I was told this applied only to commercial mezcals, while here only artisanal, author-driven spirits were offered. Still, the guided tasting of five mezcals was captivating, with some I truly enjoyed. An impressive shop, though it could be more welcoming to newcomers exploring mezcal.

Extremely nice lady who helped us buy 4 bottles of Mezcal, gave us small tastings to understand flavour profiles. She was very knowledgeable and made the buying process fun! The restaurants around the area had also recommended this shop to us - was a great shout!

Great selection but unpleasant and somewhat condescending staff that tries perpetually to sell the most expensive blends…Oaxaca is a tourist destination, let’s not look down on paying customers 👀

The best section of truly artisanal mezcal in the City. Friendly service. THE place to buy bottles in Oaxaca unless you are at a palenque buying directly from a producer.

This is a specialty Mezcal store. Here you will find several truly artisanal and high-end brands that can be difficult to come by outside of Oaxaca. I don't have a good comparison on price to other stores in Mexico, but it seemed fair and is way below what I would pay in my hometown of NYC. They don't have a massive selection but just enough. If you are looking for a particular type of wild agave like Cuise, Tobasiche, etc you will likely find one or two different brands of that variety here.
