To the point. I have tried 3 pastries.
Bostock ,Cinnamon bun and Chocolate loaf.
Non of them was even good.
Bostock was with raspberries baked into frangipan. Clearly done with very old brioche, I could taste that stale flavor.... not had a touch of vanilla at all.
Cinnamon bun was gummy and dry, tasted of other flavors and baked salty stuff that was clearly residue from oven. If you make brioche based goods, make sure the oven is used for vienoserie only.
Chocolate loaf ..... dry and with taste of burned chocolate. No pleasant experience at all to be eating charcoal on your bread.
It looks like the production is made in separate location and with and in equipment used by restaurant.....
I was expecting something amazing after reading about that place, but clearly as in most cases the Chef has lack in basic and classic pastry and techniques, not mentioning the use of equipment that has been tainted.
As per your reply- no transaction is visible as your new employee of 2 days couldn’t find the chocolate loaf in the system cause it’s a new item( she charged something else for 1 PLN less. So the total was 32 PLN ) I was there before noon and whilst I was waiting for my flat white, one of the owners/managers (tall man in glasses) walked in with 2 bags of fruit.
