If you are looking for a nice place to buy an upmarket gift or a Cape Town souvenir, then this is the place. Also a great street to walk down.

Every time we visit Cape Town we visit this store. It has beautiful & diverse craftsmen's items. Very worth the visit. If you get as lucky as us, you'll have a genuinely nice SA lady help you, named Mary Anne - makes the experience even more special.

The owner, Karen has responded and addressed this review in a proactive and professional manner. I have changed my review accordingly due to this response. Thank you. I recently visited a shop in Kalk Bay and was excited about purchasing several items I had picked out. After discussing my selections with my mother-in-law over lunch, I returned to the store, only to find a sign saying "back in 5 minutes." We waited for 10 minutes, then left for 20 more, assuming the shop would reopen soon. However, when we returned, it was still closed. A women selling flowers outside pointed out the shop attendant in an alley with her boyfriend, and when she finally came in through a side door, she rudely refused to open the shop for another 5 minutes. When I finally made my purchase, spending a considerable amount of money, the shop attendant was rude and dismissive throughout the transaction. Despite the shop offering amazing products, the rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff has left a bad taste in my mouth. I cannot recommend this shop and won’t be returning. If the sigh had said out for lunch or a longer time it would have been fine - but it said 5 minutes.

This was my favorite little shop in the area! I found so many items I wanted to buy as gifts for others and myself! Not typical tourist items but curated, beautiful items to remember your time in Cape Town. Must visit!

Superbly curated store. Crafts, soaps, prints and clothes.

Had a very attentive assistant. Helped us buy gifts for my son's friend in South Korea.

I am honestly still shocked by what happened in this store today. I was shopping for a kitchen tea and had already placed a glass item at the pay counter, planning to add more items before paying. While simply browsing, the security guard watched me constantly — even staring at the tiny Yorkie puppy I was holding. Then, out of nowhere, he stopped me in the middle of the shop, accused me of taking a glass dish, and told me to show him both my hands as if I would be hiding a glass item under a small dog. Meanwhile, the item he was referring to was sitting visibly at the till, exactly where I placed it to be rung up. The humiliation of being treated like a thief for doing absolutely nothing wrong was unbelievable. Customers carry items around a shop while they browse — this is completely normal. But being followed, watched, and then confronted like that was disturbing and deeply unprofessional. I was so disgusted and embarrassed by the accusation that I left everything I intended to buy and walked out. No customer should ever be treated this way. I won’t be returning, and I would advise others to be aware of how management allows their security to behave.

My girlfriend and I visited your store to purchase a wedding gift for a family member. We selected three items with a total value exceeding R1500 and placed them at the cashier while we continued browsing for an additional item. While we were still in the store, a security guard approached my girlfriend and insisted on searching her, claiming he had seen a bowl removed from the shelf. This item had already been placed at the cashier as part of our intended purchase. The situation was unnecessarily embarrassing and humiliating. When I addressed the guard’s conduct and explained that it was inappropriate to accuse customers without first verifying the facts, he became argumentative and questioned whether he was wrong for searching us. This behaviour is unprofessional and reflects poorly on your store. As a result of this experience, we will no longer support your store and will advise our friends and family to do the same. I strongly urge management to address this matter and improve staff training, as interactions like this can drive customers away.
