Miss Worcester Diner is most definitely a favorite with the locals. When we arrived there was one dirty booth available and we grabbed it! Unfortunately, we did not alert the staff that we were 'new customers' and they were waiting for us to leave so they could clean off the table! Oops. Be sure to let staff know you are looking to be seated! Once we got that sorted out, our drink order was taken and quickly brought.
Seriously this tiny diner was absolutely mobbed the entire time we were there on a Saturday late morning. No one was 'stressed'. Staff and customers are laid back and rolling with the flow but the staff never stop moving. It did take a while for the waiter to come take our order, but that was fine because the menu is extensive for such a small establishment. They have an entire stuffed French Toast menu all to itself! There are lots of flavors you can add to your coffee, a huge selection of omelets, kids menus, house made hash, breakfast specials and a lunch menu of sandwiches and burgers.
Booths seat four adults. There are counter seats that run the length of the diner. If you leave a space between you and your neighbor at the counter staff will ask you to move over. They need every seat. As it was very busy our meal did take some time to arrive. While we waited, we looked around the diner. It seems guests leave stickers behind. All over everything. Ceiling, wall, window. Reading and looking at them all kept us entertained and made for lively discussion. That and playing peek-a-boo with the toddler at the next table.
Food quality is good and the items well prepared. It's your standard breakfast fare: eggs, breakfast potatoes, toast. They do it well. Our limited interaction with staff showed them to all be very nice and friendly. If you need the rest room, ask for the key. It's outside, around the back. A small, clean, well stocked, 'one for all' restroom.
Although the parking lot is small (we luckily got the one spot left) it seems enough to keep the diner full! Park so as to make room for as many cars possible. No on-street parking and I didn't see any public parking lot nearby. BTW, there is a bus stop right by the entrance to the diner, which is off the parking lot. We thought it was a line to get in, but it's just folks waiting for public transport.
