Our vist to Kavarna Misto was well planned, we scoped out cafe selections within walking distance to Prague Castle, but it was the coffee selections that put this on my radar as a Yelper in Praha for the first time. Also notable was their inclusion on the Taste of Prague Food Tour blog Best Spots for Coffee in this fair city. So, we were in.
Not opening until 1000 on Sunday, Misto is an easy train ride up from Praha 1, and while we were waiting for the cafe to open we took a stroll around the quiet, picturesque neighborhood that includes some large national Ambassador homes...
...anyway, it seems that if you prefer not to wait for a cuppa and breakfast on a weekend morning, you should get there early, this place was packed just ten minutes after opening and there quite a wait about an hour later on our way out. We were served quickly, and the Sunday breakfast selections were simple and tasty. Scrambled eggs with a mound of fresh chives and good toast, and a simple eggs benedict were enjoyed.
We enjoyed their filter coffee offerings so much we brought a bag of a whole bean Columbia selection home to the States and am thoroughly enjoying it this morning in my kitchen, Aeropress of course.
Oh, before I forget...yeah, this place convinced me to have a slice of Pistachio-Pomegranate cake for breakfast, as a second course. I did not regret this choice. Because, vacation. Also, walking eight miles a day to see this magnificent city. Thank you Misto!
