Mitch's Flowers

So underwhelmed, and so overpriced. I’m pretty reasonable in general, but my experience here left me not wanting to return. My husband and I each got one another an arrangement for Valentine’s Day. The Mitch’s arrangement (on the left) cost $220.00, while the Fresh Market arrangement (on the right) cost $60.00! I’m flabbergasted as to how Mitch’s can justify this price. I really wanted to support a local florist, but sadly, it’s just not worth the cost. So disappointed, and embarrassed. 😳😢

I wanted to share my experience with the customer service at this florist. I called them needing a bouquet on the same day and provided my budget, occasion, and recipient details, trusting their creative expertise. The flowers I received were exactly what I had envisioned - fresh, high quality, and uniquely selected to create a living work of art! Their arrangements are next level and sure to impress. The smile they put on my son’s girlfriend’s face was worth a million bucks!

Quality, Value, Responsiveness I’m so thrilled with the arrangement I ordered from Mitch’s. I need something modern, modest and fast (next day delivery). For being on the low cost end of arrangements I could have delivered, the end product provided so much wow-factor, Mitch’s has become my local florist of choice. They were super easy to work with, exceeded my expectations, and provided great value when everything seems to be costing more. Five stars!

I was so pleased with how my bouquet turned out. I spoke with several florists while I was in the planning stages for my wedding. I only wanted a bouquet and every other florist I spoke with had a floral minimum of $1000 or more. I reached out to Mitch’s because I found a bouquet they did for another wedding that had the exact look I was going for. Not only were they able to accommodate my request but they exceeded my expectations. Everyone at the wedding complimented how gorgeous and unique the arrangement was. They photographed so beautifully. I am so happy with the result and would recommend them to any bride in New Orleans looking for an elegant, affordable bouquet. Monique and the Mitch’s team did a beautiful job on our rehearsal dinner table scape. Monique listened to and perfectly executed my vision based on some example photos I shared. All of our guests raved about how beautiful and intimate the setting was! Cost wise, I found Mitch’s to be fairly reasonable and they were highly recommended to me by my wedding florist, Leaf+Petal who was out of budget for our rehearsal dinner. For reference, the table scape for this 20ft dining table with all of the candles was around $700 including labor, delivery and a late night pickup fee. Overall, highly recommend Monique and Mitch's!

I walked into this florist after spending some time with a few other businesses. I was interested in obtaining a modest bouquet for my wife for our wedding day. Several other florists acted as if building a bouquet same day was a ludicrous proposition and recommended I go to the grocery store. Coming into Mitch's I was helped immediately with warmth and friendliness. I was able to communicate what I wanted and they were able to translate my request immediately into a stunning minimal bouquet. If I lived local, Mitch's would be my go to florist from here on out.

We found ourselves hundreds of miles away from NOLA with a last minute need for flowers. Off to Google I went to find florists near Tulane. I called Mitch’s on a Saturday just after opening to ask them to make a presentation bouquet for a student’s special event. Mitch’s was closing at 2:00 so they couldn’t deliver but they could make the bouquet. It must have been a busy NOLA weekend. Two other florists were maxed and couldn’t even take our order. We picked up the bouquet. I discussed color, flower type and greens with the staff member who took my order but I left a lot to their discretion saying only that it should be elegant. The bouquet was outstandingly gorgeous. The roses where huge and complimented with a variety of other interesting blooms and greens. It was everything I hoped for. Well done Mitch’s and thank you.

While the flowers are nice, the prices are egregious and appalling. I will definitely not be going back.

I love that I was easily able to place a same day order by phone with Mitch's Flowers. My family member was celebrating her birthday while in New Orleans they were referred to me by the hotel front desk. It took only 10 minutes to place the order by phone. I recieved an email confirmation once my payment was processed and an delivery confirmation once it was delivered. I was super impressed that my order was delivered by 1pm when I expected it to arrive by no later than 4pm. My only complaint would be not being able to see picture of the finally product. The manager asked me how much I wanted to spend which was an $100. She said it would be an mixed arrangement but after seeing the finally product I would have paid more for some more color to be added. Also, the shop does not have balloons so I was bummed I could not add that to my order.

It would be impossible for me to love this flower shop more than I do. Monique and her team of geniuses have turned floral arranging into an art form, and they are masters of this trade. If you are looking for elevated floral design, this is your place. Insanely beautiful orchids (in my opinion, their specialty) are styled beautifully and matched with gorgeous containers. Arrangements are creative yet clean and sophisticated. Mitch's has done flowers for my wedding, Easter table, Christmas mantle, fall/Halloween, friends' birthdays, sympathy, and everything in between. Their in-shop collection of planters and containers is fabulous, but if you'd like to bring in your own special piece, they will fill it and surprise you with a jaw-dropping work of art. It has become my guilty pleasure and I am delighted to recommend them.

I used Mitch's for some orchids that Shari V likes. She routinely gets them, but I decided to get them for her as a gift. The women who worked at Mitches were very nice. I am not familiar with Orchids or florists in general but they walked me through everything. I called ahead of time and they suggested bringing the bowl/vase in. Some background here: Shari V reuses the same bowl for these orchids. Anyway, I bring the bowl in and they tell me the orchids will be ready in an hour. Pretty easy. Also, this was the day before Valentines day so I know they were busy filling lots of other orders. I kept hearing the phone ring with new last minute orders. They told me how many orchids they could get in the bowl and how much it would cost. They added lots of other things to make it look nice. To me, it looks like moss covering the base of the bowl. Shari V loved the orchids I had Mitch's pick out. Turned out great.

This place is so rude, you will purchase a bouquet for an absurd price and receive a medium sized bouquet. The staff is rude and eager to get you off the phone as if you are bothering them, I suggest you call Nola Flora instead they are extremely kind and beautiful flowers.

Mitch's is still my "go-to" flower shop. One caveat: they close really early every day. Be sure you ask when they close, when ordering. O/W, great service & products. Rick

I needed a floral arrangement quickly, called Mitch's based on a recommendation and decided on an orchid instead. It is absolutely gorgeous. Just stunning.

I paid $275 for an arrangement that I thought would be jaw dropping (due to the cost) I asked them to send me a photo now I know why they didn't - the arrangement was disappointingly small and most of the flowers have died. I'm just really upset knowing I paid almost $300 for a product, i was refused a photo and then my friend who received them told me everything had died. Not cool.

Thank you for such a beautiful flower bouquet for my daughter's graduation! I was flying in to town late at night and needed flowers next day early for graduation at Tulane. When I arrived at the hotel, it was delivered to the front desk and it was gorgeous! I called the store to describe the vibe of the bouquet I wanted and they went above and beyond to make this happen. When I went to graduation ceremony, everyone asked me where I got the flowers from since it is hard to order flowers when you are flying in from out of town. I would recommend Mitch's flowers for any events! They care for each customer's need and you can count on them. Thanks again!

I ordered a large floral at $250 to place in front of the podium at our annual conference. What we received was a medium size table centerpiece. I called asking for a better option, transferred to manager and received ZERO help (Rude to boot!) I let the Marriott know to never re get to this florist again!

I found Mitch's Flowers on the internet. The reviews were great and the pictures of the store were fabulous. My daughter loved the peace lily. It was large and shiny green. Could not have been prettier.

Love Mitch's Flowers! Over the last year I've had to send more flowers locally than ever and Mitch has delivered the freshest and most beautiful bouquets! Service has been fun and creative!

As usual, needed something special at the last minute. Their web-site included instructions to email them with a call-back number. Within an hour I received a call, she took my order and later that afternoon delivered a magnificent array of beautiful, fresh, and amazing flowers. Prompt, polite, efficient, talented and a pleasure to deal with. If they can do that in these troubled times, I can only imagine their service in normal times. My new, favorite florist.

Great place to find plants and floral related gifts. I can't believe I've never noticed this shop. The staff was so kind and offered to help me many times. The pricing is slightly higher than other shops but the quality and uniqueness of the gifts is what you are paying for.

I called Mitch's and placed a flower order over the phone which was not delivered AND I was charged for the bouquet. When I never heard from the recipient, I followed up a week later and they said "the order got lost" (?) and they would deliver it later that day and call me to confirm delivery. They did NOT call me that day, I had to call back a third time to confirm that my bouquet was delivered to the recipient 9 days later. No discount, no offer to make up for it.

Decided pretty much to get married in NOLA last minute. I called Mitches and over the phone described what I wanted for me, the bride, and my sister maid of honor. The flowers were delivered to our hotel exactly the time I asked and were beautiful. They were exactly what I wanted and we got so many compliments on them. Thank you so much '!! I was thrilled with the flowers and service!!

I'm gonna just bypass the fact that they have beautiful flowers and plants and cut to chase of what sets them apart. This flower place is a freakin EXPERIENCE. In a beautiful former indigo plant on Magazine you are pretty much walking into Sugarbakers from Designing Women. Three women who talk and gossip nonstop. Very friendly, open and super helpful. You wanna just go bring em lunch everyday and hang out. I had heard about their recent appearance on John Stossel about the proposed flower licensing in Louisiana, but it was quite by coincidence that we actually needed to get flowers to congratulate a friend and this was on the way. They were wonderful, warm and it made me want to live in this neighborhood to have an excuse to came by more often. It just so happens we did find a place a few blocks away the following day. I can't wait to get back and know them all better.

My mother always said, "Don't do yourself wrong," and she was right. "A nickel is only pretty if it's polished against a quarter... you get what you pay for." Mitch's Flowers is top-notch, and can do no wrong. We passed through on recommendation from a friend, and, boy, was our friend right! Go! Now! Buy flowers and plants! Mitch's Flowers made our life happier. Isn't that what florists are supposed to do? I give them a solid 5-stars!!! Check them out ... you will, too.

Not what used to be. Sad, I was a loyal customer. order a 150-175.00 arrangement, delivered to my wife. Looked more like a 30.00 bouquet from a gas station. Make sure you place your order with the manager...., if you are in the market for a gamble.

Wanting to order flowers for my fiancee's birthday, I tried my usual place in NOLA, but they were closed for family reasons. This left me in a bind, so I called various places on her actual birthday... I saw that Mitch's was right by where I wanted to have the flowers delivered, and ordered the flowers from them. Boy, was that a mistake. 1. The flowers showed up the day AFTER they were supposed to -- and therefore she had no flowers for her birthday. 2. When I called to inquire how this happened, the owner of Mitch's (a rude, unpleasant woman with no sense of human relations) was very defensive, AND THEN SHE CALLED MY FIANCEE AND TOLD HER I HADN'T PLACED THE ORDER UNTIL THE DAY OF HER BIRTHDAY, with no other information to convey to my fiancee-- clearly just to try to paint me as a chump, I figure. 3. They have hidden "delivery fees" that they will not mention to you when you place the order. A $75 flower order turned into almost $100 on the actual credit card statement. It will be a cold, cold day in Hell before I ever order from this place again. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM MITCH'S.

Last week, I received three flower arrangements in celebration of my graduation. One week later, two are dead, but my flowers from Mitch's Flowers are still looking pretty damn good! Mitch's Flowers offers BEAUTIFUL flowers and stellar service. The staff at Mitch's Flowers communicated with my grandma in New York (I assure you that this was no easy task; their phone call probably lasted most of the day) to ensure that I would receive the flowers on my graduation day. A staff member called me on the day of delivery to ask when I would be home to receive my flowers AND managed to deliver my flowers during the one single hour that I was available. Beautiful flowers. Stellar service. Long distance communication. What more could you ask for? I look forward to both sending and receiving flowers from Mitch's in the future.

For my birthday I received the most beautiful flower arrangement, it was breath taking. I decided to look online for my future deliveries to special people in my life. Her style, her arrangements are scaled beyond 10, just magnificent.

Mitch's is the absolute best!! So glad you are Uptown, too!! The last minute arrangement I called for in the morning, for a PM get-together was absolutely beautiful!! Not worth the price. Beware if you order over the phone. I sent flowers to my sister and she sent me a picture - they were worth less than half the price I was charged even with delivery fees. I called to get the name of the flower shop they use to avoid using something like 1-800-flowers but I'm not sure I was better off - really disappointed as they were so nice on the phone. I think it's just deceptive business

My husband called Monique to order flowers for my birthday. What I found was SO much more than the usually delivery arrangement. Monique came over to our home and consulted with my husband on what she thought would work, took some of my vases back to her store, filled them with incredible arrangements, delivered them back to my house and displayed them beautiful in my home. I was floored when I walked into my house. She did an incredibly beautiful job using orchids, hydrangeas, and calla lilies to create the most gorgeous arrangements... I could not have been more pleased or delighted with the quality of work Monique put in to my husband's order and I couldn't have been more grateful to my wonderful husband for hiring her. I highly recommend this store. If you love flowers and all the beauty they add to a space and the joy they can give to people, there is no way you could be disappointed with Monique and her business.

Ordered my best friend flowers for Valentine's Day with a general idea of which flowers I wanted included and I could not be happier. The arrangement was delivered on time and looked great. They did not use carnations as fillers, which a lot of florists do (and I do not like it!). I will definitely be using them again.

I ordered a $100 arrangement that was delivered on time. That's the only good thing I have to say about this floral shop. I didn't get what I paid for. I described what I wanted including colors and etc. the flowers arrived while I was there visiting and I was embarrassed!! Looked like a shabby funeral arrangement. Zero of the pink colors I asked for! 4 old tired lavender gladiolas, 4 white hydrangeas. The rest of the arrangement was old stock filler flowers! So disappointed. Actually left them at the hospital!!! Take your business somewhere else!!!! BTW is worked in a floral shop for 5 years.

My mom sent me flowers from Mitch's and they are GORGEOUS!!! I love that they come in a very attractive square glass vase that I can easily reuse. My mom told Mitch's to please send me a cheery bunch of flowers and they did indeed!!

Honestly, one of the best flower shops I've ever been to. I've been getting flowers from Monique for about four years now. For everything from girlfriends, thank you's, to things for special events, she can do it all. She is always welcoming with a warm smile and very pleasant to deal with. I think the flowers are the freshest and highest quality. I've often gotten them for people and seen them last twice as long as other places.

Went to see About flowers for my wedding guy couldn't have been less interested. Rude. Obviously has enough of a following from regulars to blow off new business. Plus place reeked of cigarette smoke!!

I was trapped at home for a long recuperation and was sent the most beautiful arrangement. Over the course of a few days the bouquet wilted and I had to discard many of the flowers. I contacted Mitch's and the next day I received a lovely replacement arrangement that I'm sure to enjoy! I am so appreciative of the professionalism and courteous manner in which this was handled. I'll be enjoying the unique, colorful, fragrant arrangement and recommending Mitch's to anyone who asks about a fantastic local florist. Thank you so much for the cheer while I get back on my feet!!

This is by far the best florist in New Orleans. They use unique flowers and fillers and the colors of their arrangements are so vibrant. They are great about taking phone orders and my family who lives out of state says they are easy to work with too. They get busy so best to plan ahead. The shop is really cute too.

Would never use. Called to order flowers and they said "will not deliver to west bank but will deliver to english turn and that we were 28 miles away. " Googled the distance and we are 12.2 miles from the store. First of all discriminating from the west bank but will take money from English Turn. And Charging a premium when we are closer than metairie. Very disappointed when trying to support local business!!!!

I love Mitch's Flowers. They have been delivering flowers to my store, once a week, for several months now and they always seem to out do the other. The arrangements are beautiful, and the delivery guy couldn't be nicer.

Today is my 8th Anniversary. I decided a great arrangement of flowers where in order for this momentous occasion! I usually use another vendor for all my flower needs, but they've seemed to have lost the value of a customer and over the years have gotten more rude. So, on a suggestion from my awesome hair stylist, I went to Mitch's. It's a quaint shop in the 4000 block of Magazine. The lady who helped me used to own her own floral place a few years back. She was knowledgable and very polite. It's was a refreshing change!! I got a dozen cinnamon colored roses, 10 red roses and some snap dragons. The bunch looked awesome! Every rose had a perfect, firm bud. It's hard to get a good rose these days, but these were Perfect!!! I'm so happy with the arrangement and the service! The price wasn't bad either! You all now have a new customer and I do like my fresh cut flowers!

I placed an order for a sunflower arrangement on 5/2 with Monique, the owner, to be picked up on 5/9. It was supposed to be a mother's day present to be given to her at her office across the street from Mitch's. I called just now, 10am on 5/9, and asked when I could pick up my arrangement. The assistant put me on hold for 2 minutes and came back on and said that Monique couldn't find any sunflowers because of the weather in California right now (interesting because fresh market has them as of last night). I responded with "Well she wasn't going to call me and let me know?!" Monique's assistant replies "well she sort of totally forgot...". I replied "Awesome, thanks." and hung up. I can't remark on the work she normally does, but I can't believe that not only did she not have the decency to get on the phone and apologize herself, but also didn't offer me any other options to rectify the situation. Off to Fresh Market I go, I guess. Thanks for nothin, Mitch's.

We had the most wonderful experience working with Denys at Mitch's Flowers for our wedding. After meeting with six other florists, we lucked out in being referred to Mitch's Flowers by our venue. Denys listened to my thoughts, looked at my inspiration pictures, and kept my budget in mind as she put together a wonderful proposal and reworked it as we went along and color changes were made. At the end of the day, when I walked into the venue I was SO pleasantly surprised by what they'd put together. They'd created the perfect frame for our ceremony, and the flower arrangements on the tables were absolutely perfect for the setting. My bouquet was a beautiful arrangement of colors and textures. I couldn't have been happier. Denys was very communicative, which is important especially for an out of town bride, but also knew exactly what to do with the space. I felt at ease with her team and am glad to have put my trust in them for this special day.

My mother recently passed away, I was looking for a florist in the uptown area in the phone book. I picked Mitch's. The owner personally assisted me in selecting floral sprays. I picked out several to refer to family and friends near and far in a price range that was reasonable. They prepared quite a few sprays for my mother's funeral. They were all so very beautiful. The sprays were full and not skimpy. The flowers were fresh. My family members were very pleased. I highly recommend them.

The girls at Mitch's Flowers are so funny. I went in and sat down to order flowers and we became fast friends. The are witty and smart and make incredible flower arrangements and are were willing to work within my budget. My flowers were delivered within the time frame requested and everyone just raved over them. Thank you!

nice but overpriced. i got a very 'cute' vase of flowers from mitch's, and by 'cute' i mean TINY. the flowers were nice, though the buds didn't open, and for $60 i would've expected a bigger arrangement. the vase was the size of a large cup, about 4.5 inches high. i've gotten flowers for my mother plenty of times so i know how much they cost. i'm not cheap but i'm not a fool with money either. i believe in getting what you pay for and this was overpriced. i will not be using them in the future.
