Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Premier (Tokyo, Tokyo) 9 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Tokyo has one of the most dramatic modern city skylines in the world. The brightly lit skyscrapers, shopping malls and neon advertising hoardings are separated by crisscrossing busy roads, which at night come alive with thousands of car lights — take it all in from the Mitsui Garden hotel, one of the only tall buildings in Ginza." - Tablet Hotels

I don’t write many hotel reviews, but this one is worth sharing. I accidentally booked a smoking room, and the staff moved me to a non-smoking room immediately and without complication—an early indication of how smoothly the hotel operates. The views from both the lobby and my room were striking and became something I looked forward to each day. The lobby experience stood out in particular: subtle aromas from the decanter and a consistent jazz soundtrack that set the tone without being intrusive. It created an atmosphere that felt intentional and cinematic. A small but meaningful convenience was the vending machine on my floor, which I used frequently while I was sick to pick up electrolytes—an understated amenity that ended up being genuinely useful. After extending my stay online, the front desk called to remind me I had missed checkout. When I explained that I was ill, the response that followed was notable: every time I passed the front desk thereafter, staff members asked how I was feeling. It felt natural and attentive, not procedural. When my condition worsened to the point that I needed medical care, the woman at the information desk handled everything with calm efficiency—locating an English-speaking clinic, calling a taxi, walking me down to it, and explaining the destination to the driver. When you’re unwell and traveling alone, that level of support matters. I’ve stayed at many five-star hotels, and this was the most comfortable comforter I’ve experienced. I spent a considerable amount of time in bed due to my illness, and the quality of rest made a tangible difference. The room is compact, but extremely well considered for a solo traveler and equipped with everything I needed: a refrigerator that actually keeps items cold, a trouser press, a humidifier, complimentary pajamas, a phone charger, and thoughtful details throughout. They even mailed a postcard to the U.S. for me at no charge. For the price, this is the best hotel I’ve stayed in. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience warranted one.

The view from our room was fabulous, and the staff were very nice. The location was okay, but not on the direct train line from the main Tokyo station. However, the carpets in the hallways and in the room looked quite unclean and everything smelled of cigarette smoke (we were on a non-smoking floor). The room itself, aside from the carpet, was smaller than I was expecting for the level of hotel. Yes - I have stayed in Tokyo before so am aware of the room sizes. I think this is a good business hotel and certainly adequate for 1 person - but perhaps not ideal for couples.

I checked in on Jan 02 and I would like to show appreciation to Mr. Aoi Kawabe (rooms department) at the front desk helping me to deal with Agoda and secured a two bed bedroom for my stay. Agoda had technical issues and did not reflect the correct booking in the hotel system, Mr. Kawabe helped me the whole hour to contact Agoda team for support and even offered me bottle of water while I was waiting. His service was amazing and warm! Thank you very much! He definitely deserves a compliment!

My overall stay was very comfortable. I felt recognised and valued as a guest despite not holding any membership. The staff speaks English well and the service was impeccable. I felt warmly welcomed every day by the reception and they were approachable if you require any assistance. The location was rather good, within walking distance to Ginza itself and in between JR Shimbashi station and Higashi-Ginza station. The room was comfortable and compact. I stayed by myself so the space was sufficient but if you are staying as a pair, you may have to share and occupy the space strategically. Would consider returning or exploring other Mitsui Garden hotels after this remarkable experience.

I’d stay here again because it’s affordable. The standard rooms are very small but good for 1 person. The deluxe rooms are better. I stayed 8 or 9 nights with a 3 day checkout on the middle to go to Kyoto and they kept my big suitcase for me (it was waiting for me inside my room when I checked back in). They are service oriented. The downside is that it’s on the southeast edge of Ginza so you’ll walk everywhere and the nearest metros are all 8-10 min walks away. There’s a convenience store downstairs and breakfast is quite good. Taxis sit outside for those with a budget.

I stayed here for two days. overall 5 stars. Reasons: the location! It’s literally right next to Donki, the 24 hours tax free store! I waited in the hotel room until my wife called and then I went down to help carry stuff lol it’s so much better than waited in the store haha! The staff also very friendly and the room size is a standard Japan size which is little bit smaller than US. But that is normal in Japan. However, this bathroom size is much bigger compared to other Tokyo hotels I stayed. It has shower also bathtub and didn’t feel crowded with two people in it. G line is about 5-8 mins walk, not bad at all. I’ll stay here again next time I visit Tokyo!

Stayed here for 3 nights (£781) on arrival into Tokyo.|Taxi from the airport was 8000Y (£40ish) so we thought worth it after a long flight.|Hotel nice & clean, no complaints. |Room had 2 double beds & was bigger than I expected. Nice hot powerful shower & a comfy but small bath.|20th floor so no noise.|Beds were hard but comfortable (& jet lag means you can probably sleep on anything regardless)|We stayed here to be away from the main tourist areas & handy for a visit to the fish market (something we really wanted to do). 20min gentle walk?|Subway was also handy for Asakusa (once we got the hang of it…).|Only had the breakfast at the hotel once & it was ok for hotel breakfast, not much else available nearby unfortunately.|Would stay here again if I wanted to stay in Ginza, but not if I wanted to see more on the other side of Tokyo

We had a lovely stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Premier. The rooms are modern and the size is perfect. I don’t know why people keep complaining about the room size in the reviews? What are they expecting, a studio apartment? The bathroom is lovely and the shower is really nice. The shower gel in the bathroom smells lovely. There is a bath tub in there too. The staff are friendly, polite and keep everything clean. Towels and slippers are replaced daily. The bed sheets are changed daily too and the beds are really comfortable. The staff also leave two small bottles of water in the fridge every day, tea and coffee making things in your room which is nice. The breakfast is lovely. There is chicken, pork dimsums, pancakes, sushi, fruit, salad, pastries, pancakes, yogurt, a range of juices and teas etc. It would be nice to have some tempura dishes but other than that I really enjoyed it. The hotel is a 6-minute walk from Shimbashi Station (where we mostly travelled from for days out), 12-minute walk from Ginza Station and 20-minute walk from Tokyo Station. The views are amazing from the hotel! :)

Yelp
This was a decent hotel in Ginza. Nothing special aside from the view of the city at night. Our room was pretty clean and comfy. I did like their bathroom stuff. The hotel staff were very nice and friendly as well.

Yelp
I would stay here again. The room was decent space and the view was spectacular. The room and bathroom was clean, staff are also nice.

Yelp
The staff was friendly upon check-in and complimentary beverages are included inside your room. The nearest station is about a nine minute walk and Ginza is a very popular area for shopping so the station is always packed night and day. The room size is cozy, slightly larger compared to a typical hotel in Japan and the view is decent. I stayed on the 22nd floor, the lobby is on the 16th floor and you can see the Tokyo Tower from the bathroom. I thought the room was decent until I looked into the bathroom closely. There was mold all along the tiles in the shower and underneath the shower chair. The mattress feels thin and is hard so it is uncomfortable. The control for the TV is very delayed. You can Chromecast to the TV, but ours stopped working on the same day and I was instructed to contact the front desk. For the price of the Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Premier, the rooms are not as nice as I had expected, but an expensive area does not necessarily mean that the hotel would be nice. It was one of the more expensive hotels that was booked during my trip and it was the smallest, and dirtiest one.

Yelp
Absolutely excellent service Picking a hotel in a foreign land that you've never visited is daunting. We researched as best we could from home and went with the highest rated in our budget, and boy did we luck out! Americans, be forewarned; the hotel rooms in Tokyo are SMALL! However, Japanese are masters of efficiently using available space. After settling in we quickly got over our "size shock" because we did indeed have the space needed. I have to give special mention to the team at the concierge desk. We approached them 3 separate times during our stay for various needs. The level of courtesy and efficiency is, quite frankly, astounding! Unfortunately I did not get her name, but there is a shorter woman, who I'm guessing in her 50's, that was exceptional. It felt like our mom was taking care of us. I wanted to take her home with us. Such a delight! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g1066444-d1082914-r539505751-Mitsui_Garden_Hotel_Ginza_Premier-Chuo_Tokyo_Tokyo_Prefecture_Kanto.html#

Yelp
We booked this hotel because it is conveniently located next to the Shimbashi Station and Ginza Station. I like the fact that everything is walking-distance. All the other tourist attractions are a couple train rides away. There's a Kobe Beef Restaurant literally next to the hotel. Also, if you go to the Ginza station, you will find Manneken -- aka "best-tasting waffles" and the alley next to it serves the best pork jerkies. These places are a must go! The hotel staff were very accommodating. They also have an Information Center for tourists and they are more than helpful in guiding you through your desired destinations. Everyone speaks English which is a huge plus to us.

Yelp
Stayed here for 5 days. The hotel is at the edge of the Ginza district. Great location. The hotel is 16--23 floor of the building with reception at 16th floor. Great view from all the floors. The rooms are small even by Japanese standards. The bathrooms are clean and good size. The linen is good quality. The rooms have free internet, but the speed is very slow. You get what you pay for. The front desk service is terrible. I had requested early check in and they refused to give it to me. My check out took 25 minutes for paying a room and getting out, just not good enough. 'The breakfast buffet is good but with a limited selection. There are many nearby hotels that are excellent so no need to settle for mediocre

Yelp
I've stayed at this hotel twice for a total of 8 nights and it's always been a pleasant experience. The hotel is located in Ginza which is well known for shopping but it is also a 10-15 minute walk from the outer fish market and many good sushi restaurants as well as Tokyo main station. The immediate area around the hotel is pretty quiet and commercial with a natural lawsons convenience store located on the first floor. If you're expecting a super bustling part of Tokyo(like Shibuya) you will probably want to stay elsewhere. If you want to get souvenirs to take back home there is a don quijote across the street. The staff is super friendly and speak English well so no problem there. One of the best parts of the lobby is the view, especially towards Tokyo tower. The rooms are small but that's Japan for you ‍. Beds are comfortable but the pillows are really weird. The bottom pillow seems to be filled with beans or something and isn't really comfortable. I was able to make it work by using the bottom pillow just for supporting the top pillow. AC works really well and kept the room freezing cold for optimal sleeping. Bathrooms are great. Shower water pressure is high and water temperature is very consistent. Toilets have bidets which have a learning curve but are very nice. During our stay we weathered through a 5.7 earthquake and the strongest typhoon in 50 years. The building was rock solid! Overall this hotel is really solid and I would stay here again if I wanted to be in the Ginza area.

Yelp
I had a great experience in Tokyo! Not only the city is great but also I am so happy that I found this hotel! It is in a best location in one of my most popular spots in Tokyo which is called Ginza! Great restaurants, malls, designer stores and etc... the price is very reasonable and they have great service! Their breakfast bar is pretty good too but it is not included. You have to pay for it but it's still worth it!

Yelp
Stayed there for 4 nights. Airport limo bus stops at this hotel so it is very convenient to/from Narita airport and the hotel. You can purchase an airport limo bus ticket to Narita airport at the hotel. The hotel room we stayed was not spacious but it was very clean. The housekeeping staff did a great job and very organized. The hotel staff was also friendly. The location of the hotel is very convenient to subway/metro stations and restaurants. I can see myself staying at this hotel agaIn.

Yelp
Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Premier is one of many hotels offers by this hotel group. The hotel is within walking distance from the Shimbashi train station which is only one or two stops from the Tokyo train station on the JR Yamanote line and located in the heart of the Ginza District and believe me the Ginza district is where you want to be. The hotel is very stylish, with its dark and moody lighting in the evening and light and bright in the day. The lobby has big windows giving people a lovely view of the bay and the Tokyo Tower! The accommodations here are amazing not anywhere close to your average hotel and being in the Ginza District is a bonus. I highly recommend you consider this hotel, but at the very least make sure you stay in the Ginza District which is amazing on its own with the high end shopping district, the best restaurants, bars and plenty to see it is the number one rated area in Tokyo. I would say this hotel is a little more expense than other options it's about ¥37,000 ($305.10) per night, but the amenities here are many so don't confuse this with a business hotel. The staff is very polite and professional and work hard to ensure every guest is having the best experience possible. I found my room to be very comfortable, maybe they aren't the biggest rooms around but there is plenty of room for one or two people and much larger than a lot of the hotel's you'll find in Tokyo. The room was very well furnished with high quality furniture, beds, linens and a selection of comfortable pillow options. The bathroom was plenty large and the shower and tub were separate and huge. My room had a full view over looking the city that was absolutely breathtaking I was on the 24th floor and going to bed with the city of Tokyo fully lit and waking up with the sun rising over this beautiful city is something I'll never forget. I had breakfast each morning in the restaurant, the table settings were beautiful and the selection would satisfy anyone, it offered a great selection of traditional Japanese breakfast items combined with a touch of western selections for those that must have their bacon, eggs and toast and all for ¥2500 ($20.62) including all beverages and remember the gratitude is always built in no tipping allowed. I will definitely stay here on my next trip, the area is super safe I walked around the entire Ginza District well after midnight alone and never fell anything but completely safe. I hope you get to experience it someday.

Yelp
Was here on April 2017 and booked the corner room with the bathtub view. My first hotel experience in Japan after staying in a few Airbnbs. Room was smaller than I was used to and honestly barely could fit 1 or 2 luggages opened. Great staff and great views of the Tokyo Tower.

Yelp
Loved our stay here. Room on the small side (welcome to Tokyo), but worked ok. High quality linen and overall decor in the room. Bathroom was great, good size and I really appreciated the combination of bath tub and separate shower. However, considering this is a bit higher priced hotel, I was disappointed that shampoo/conditioner was the hotel brand and not e.g. Shiseido which has been the case in cheaper hotels. Perfect location and close to subway stations as well as the whole Ginza district. Would absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
For about $150 per night on major travel sites, this hotel is a bargain. You get a new modern room, with separate shower and bathtub in the bathroom, view of the city - starting at minimum of the 16th floor. Access to the Ginza shopping area with a Lawson and Family Mart adjacent for all your needs. The staff is very helpful in guiding you to anywhere you want to go. Maid is awesome, and breakfast is good but pricey option - so try once and go elsewhere another morning.

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel for most of this week. The rooms are small, of course, and suffer from too many rude guests smoking in non-smoking areas. The bar stinks of cigarette smoke, but has okay bar food, etc. The restaurant / breakfast buffet is - in a single word ... A W F U L Definitely the worst food I've had in Japan - and, maybe, the worst food I've had in Asia (China, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc.). Service is passable, but certainly not remarkable in any sense of the word. All of the above said - location ... location ... location. It's proximity is great.

Yelp
I went on a Japan vacation with my best friend. Our first stop was Tokyo, and we stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel for 3 nights. The rooms are smaller than what you'd be used to in the states, but then again, everyone's smaller. A very clean and modern interior. The location is great- close to the Shimbashi station, and a 10 minute walk from the Fish market!

Yelp
The Mitsui Garden Hotel is affordable, the rooms are spacious for Asian standards, and the futuristic toilets heat your toosh (among other options that I'm too shy to delve into). The hotel begins on floor 16, affording every guest a spectacular view of the skyline from their room. The staff speaks a passable amount of English and they were patient and helpful throughout the stay. There are two full service restaurants and bars with diverse menus and live music. My one major complaint is that the pillows are absolutely dreadful. Two are paper thin. The other two rocks with pillow cases on them are filled with some sort of beads. When I requested more of the 'soft' pillows, the front desk sent 1 additional rock pillow. I was devastated. But in hindsight, maybe it's just part of the cultural emersion. Perhaps the japanese prefer this sleep method of torture. And who am I to complain? It got me out of bed bright and early to explore the city! Nonetheless, sans the pillow incident, the Mitsui Garden Premier Hotel was the definition of affordable luxury and a place I would happily return to. Check out my blog for a full Japan itinerary of where to stay and what to do! www.chelseagilson.blogspot.com

Yelp
not sure what the bad review is all about, but this hotel was awesome! granted it's a bit pricey, but then again, everything in ginza is expensive; it was about $220/night. but we knew we wanted to be in the area, be in a high-rise with panoramic views, and it has to be modern. this place fits the bill! service was excellent; concierge helped with anything and everything we threw at them. the area is safe, never felt weird wandering into the hotel late into the night. the rooms all start at the 17th floor, so every room has amazing views! we opted to not pay more for the room with the tub near the window as we read it just fogs up the window. so our room has an amazing large window and we slept right next to it. compared with japanese standards, the room was large enough for our needs (2 large suitcases and a duffle bag) for our 10 night stay. the bed was super comfortable and the pillows worked for my picky neck! bathroom amenities were high-end and the shower had good pressure. laundry service is crazy expensive, but so convenient. free wifi and good service throughout the hotel. the hotel is also really conveniently located between two train stations, so no matter which line you end up needing to take through ginza, you have a lot of options. the restaurant was good, we ate there our first night, and the dessert even included some gold foil, mmm decadent! :) i would totally stay here again, if our budget allowed. it's definitely a high-end hotel.

Yelp
Took the Narita express limousine coach 3600 yen. Dropped off next to hotel. Small rooms by USA standards. But good location in Ginza. Tokyo marathon was on. Night life was abundant with Magic bars and excellent sushi restaurants. Run down the main strip to the palace and get a good work out. Easy to get back to Narita on limo bus.

Yelp
The hotel has an amazing view from the lobby and (at least from our) room. Staff was really friendly, location is superb and cleaniness, furnishing and facilities of the room were really good. The room size was of course small (Tokyo style), but overall definitely a recommendation.
