I don’t write many hotel reviews, but this one is worth sharing.
I accidentally booked a smoking room, and the staff moved me to a non-smoking room immediately and without complication—an early indication of how smoothly the hotel operates.
The views from both the lobby and my room were striking and became something I looked forward to each day. The lobby experience stood out in particular: subtle aromas from the decanter and a consistent jazz soundtrack that set the tone without being intrusive. It created an atmosphere that felt intentional and cinematic.
A small but meaningful convenience was the vending machine on my floor, which I used frequently while I was sick to pick up electrolytes—an understated amenity that ended up being genuinely useful.
After extending my stay online, the front desk called to remind me I had missed checkout. When I explained that I was ill, the response that followed was notable: every time I passed the front desk thereafter, staff members asked how I was feeling. It felt natural and attentive, not procedural.
When my condition worsened to the point that I needed medical care, the woman at the information desk handled everything with calm efficiency—locating an English-speaking clinic, calling a taxi, walking me down to it, and explaining the destination to the driver. When you’re unwell and traveling alone, that level of support matters.
I’ve stayed at many five-star hotels, and this was the most comfortable comforter I’ve experienced. I spent a considerable amount of time in bed due to my illness, and the quality of rest made a tangible difference.
The room is compact, but extremely well considered for a solo traveler and equipped with everything I needed: a refrigerator that actually keeps items cold, a trouser press, a humidifier, complimentary pajamas, a phone charger, and thoughtful details throughout. They even mailed a postcard to the U.S. for me at no charge.
For the price, this is the best hotel I’ve stayed in. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience warranted one.
