The Mitsui Garden Kanazawa enjoys a great location - an 11-min walk to either the Samurai District or to Kanazawa Castle Park, and 18 mins to the Higashi Chaya District. I stayed here 2 nights (in a Standard Twin room) and was able to walk everywhere. The hotel has a very nice decor and smells great due to their 100% essential oil ‘signature scent.’ ||The public bath on the top floor (13F) was perfect after long days of walking - there are 2 reclined seats in the onsen which are divine. There are lots of products including a shampoo & conditioner bar. I found that the change room (women’s side) got very crowded at peak times (I.e., later in the evening). Mornings and early evening were fine. There are pyjamas and slippers to borrow. You need to bring your towels up from your room. ||The only negative is if you are expecting to use the laundry. There are only 2 small laundry machines (combined wash/dry, located on 13F) so you basically need to line up in the hall to use one.||Check-out is at 11am but I paid ¥2,000 for an extra hour. There’s a small washroom that you can use on 1F after checkout, and they store luggage in a secure location behind the reception area. Front desk staff were very helpful with restaurant suggestions and reservations , booking taxis, etc.

Overall a pleasant stay. Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the hotel is centrally located making it convenient base for exploring the city. However, there were two things that could've been improved on. Firstly, I arrived early before check-in time so had to leave my suitcase at the hotel before checking in later in the afternoon. When checking in, one of the male reception staff brought out my suitcase, but never offered to help me bring it to my room (on the same trip I stayed at another hotel in another city, and my suitcase was brought up to my room without me even having to ask). Secondly (though this one isn't really the hotel's fault), I noticed that the (male) public bath was a bit dirty and saw a white foamy substance on the water's surface, which looked like soap/shampoo or hair product residue. Also, when I was done bathing and went to retrieve my slippers, someone had taken my pair of slippers. Shame that some of the other guests were so inconsiderate!

The hotel room was very comfortable. Thank you very much for giving us a nice room with a great view! The public bath was amazing, and the breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor was delicious with very kind service. Special thanks to Ota-san at the breakfast restaurant for always being so kind and attentive whenever my dad and I came to eat. Please kindly share my appreciation with him!

A wonderful time, a great location to all areas of sightseeing of Kanazawa. Relaxing as well as hospitality was awesome. The room size is really good, onsen outstanding and relaxing. The in hotel restaurant food was amazing both for taste and amount. You did not leave without feeling full. Should be a five star hotel and restaurant. We will stay with this hotel chain again in the future.

Mitsui Garden definitely exceeded our expectations. Wonderful morning buffet with tons of well made, carefully crafted japanese selection. Our experience from check in to departure was perfect. We even got upgraded to a king room, possibly because we joined as members? The rooftop onsen was heavenly. The room was spacious with a proper closet and lots of open space to open your luggage and walk around. We had street view and did not hear any street noise. Centrally located and a few short blocks away from the Omiya market. Walking distance to the castle, Geisha district and Samurai district. Take a taxi ($10 - 13) from the train station, rather than the bus or unenjoyable walkk. The service and japanese hospitality was top notch. Lots of bowing and greetings, really felt like honoured guests. There was even a dedicated elevator person to press the button and bowing as you enter, wow! Will definitely return to the Mitsui brand based on this delightful experience along. Thank you for a wonderful stay and allowing us to enjoy Kanazawa comfortably.

Very comfortable stay. Rooms are a good size and clean. Check in service was excellent and breakfast was plentiful, varied and catered to all tastes. Location was great! Only 15 minute walk to Kanazawa station. Bus stop was at the door and very close to the gardens.

Great location for seeing the best of the city. We drove in and needed to park directly in back of the hotel to check in and drop off bags. The baths were clean and pleasant with a nice view towards the castle. The staff was kind and helpful with reserving a restaurant for four of us on short notice. But being close to the big market also gave us many wonderful food choices, too. I would definitely come back here my next time in Kanazawa.

The hotel offers excellent service and has a very convenient location for getting around. Breakfast is well prepared, with both Western and Japanese options available, which was a nice touch. From what I observed in the lobby, the front desk staff were generally very friendly and helpful, with the exception of one young lady who seemed less attentive. Overall, a pleasant stay with great service and accessibility.
