I stayed here with my son in late October 2025. Everything in Roppongi is pretty much within walking distance but there is not much directly around the hotel. If you walk a block down going towards the subway station you start to see convenience stores and some restaurants. We stayed here because we wanted to be close to things but not in the chaos of Shibuya. I felt completely safe walking around alone on the sidewalks for the most part. There was a section, later at night that had a buch of men who were attempting to solicit people to come to their bar but nothing truly intimidating. If you have large luggage, it is better to take an Uber or taxi to the hotel. The subway station is about a 10-15 minute walk, and while pretty flat, will feel like a slog; and good luck trying to find the elevator in the subway station. Check in was fine although there was no one that spoke any English at the desk, we managed, but it is something to note. I was shown how to use an electronic check-in computer by one of the front desk clerks. You have to use your key card to use the elevator, and again to gain access to your floor. I had booked the room as part of a vacation package, and this was listed under one of the five-star hotels. The lobby is appointed elegantly, but it is small. If one group decided to sit on the couches there was no place for anyone else to be. The room itself was slightly over 300 feet. It was compact, but manageable. All of the extra amenities like toothpaste, razors, soap were kept in a sort of "amenities condiment bar" in the lobby for guest to take up to their room when needed. You have to place your key card in the slot by the door to turn on the lights. Unbeknownst to me, there was also a button under the slot that indicated whether or not you wanted housekeeping. When we arrived, ours was turned to "no housekeeping." I was completely unaware of it. On our third day there, we received a notice from the hotel that they needed to clean the room, and they explained about the button. It would have been nice to have been told about this upon arrival; I had assumed our rooms had not been cleaned because of reduced cleaning days. The lighting for the bathroom sink was pretty dark; there is no way that someone applying makeup could make use of the existing light. The bathtub/shower room is typical for Japan and was fine. The only drawback is that you cannot access the front door if someone is showering unless you want to see them naked. This was a big inconvenience for me and my son. When I first sat on the bed, I noticed a large round hole in the wall (see picture). This was a bit scary at first, but we figured out that it was to accommodate the wires for the lamp. There was a hole on the other side of the beds also, the table on my side was not and could not be pushed all the way back to hide it, so it just looks extremely tacky. The stay was fine, the bed was not that inviting, and the pillows were flatter than pancakes. By the end of our stay, I was in desperate need of a massage. The hotel has great walking views of Tokyo Tower and is within walking distance of Teamlabs. We did not have much interaction with the staff due to the language barrier. Overall, the stay was fine, but it was definitely not five-star worthy.
