Beautiful historic bridge with great views of both the medieval city and the Rhine. You can take a water taxi and see more of the city. Safe to walk on the bridge while cars are driving due to the sidewalk on either end of the bridge.

Lovely bridge to cross with river Rhine below. It is so different to see people floating here with their waterproof swim bags. It looked awesome in the blazing summer heat.

We came to visit Basel from Germany for one day. The city is very beautiful, but driving around is quite problematic. There are so many cyclists everywhere, and it creates a lot of stress. Everything in Basel felt expensive to us. I had heard before that Switzerland is expensive, and it’s true. Healthy food is only available in markets and such. Restaurants are extremely expensive and open very late. We were there on a Friday and walked a lot just to find a Turkish restaurant. When we got there, they told us that dinner is served at 5 PM and asked us to come back then. The person also said that most places in Basel are like this. We ended up just having a coffee and leaving. So honestly, we wandered around all day hungry. Later, we had a beef sausage at a market — we paid 8 francs for it. It tasted so bad. Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with the food, and everything was extremely expensive.

The middle Rhine River bridge, connects the old and new town area, was built from 1903 to 1905, to replace the old and original wooden bridge. Not just because it's historical landmark value, but in the middle of the bridge, there's a little sign with several faces and lines of words, which states " Basel commemorates the people who were accused, persecuted, tortured, and killed for witchcraft in earlier centuries". And they also want to remind everyone that it's very important to always appreciate different opinions.

Mittlere Brucke is also known as Middle Bridge. This historical bridge was originally built in 12th century with wooden pillars on Rhine River. In 19th century it was rebuilt with granite. When another two bridges were made on two sides of this one, it was called Middle Bridge. It divides Old Town from Kleinbasel, the industrial side. It is worth taking a leisure walk on this picturesque bridge. It's a great place for photo opportunity. There is also a jetty nearby from where one can take boat rides. Worth visiting...

Schön Brücke in Basel-Stadt. Great Place to walk and feel the city. Was lucky to see a parade during Eurovision in which tradition germanic folk groups were performing.

This is a stunning view of the Rhine and surrounding city from this bridge. Really nice to walk across and take it all in.

11/10 Always a delight to walk or run here, I’ve been there several times a day and admire the beauty around, specially during the sunrise and sunset. It’s a must visit to take in the beauty and it’s a landmark of the city that is engraved in the souvenirs. Next to the bridge there are several coffee place to hang out. In summer you can also swim or just sit around the beach and on stairs.
