We cannot recommend Miyajima Guest House highly enough! The island is very expensive so this was a great value-for-money find, and one of our best authentic experiences of Japan. Delicious vegetarian curry and rice and soup for dinner and a simple cereal/ bread breakfast included in the price were VERY appreciated. Ryokan-style family room with our own balcony and fantastic view, and a cute little "onsen" (must be expensive for them to run given no hot springs nearby?). Communal bathrooms and kitchen, all immaculately clean and generous provisions. Laundry, bike hire, commin room with TV.
The staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for us. We were invited to join in a local community craft workshop making traditional fire prevention charms and we felt very welcome.
This lovely little business deserves your patronage and if you like relaxed, communal, friendly travel experiences, it will not dissapoint!
