Yelp
Ok if you know anything about my Yelps you'll know that I am a sushi fiend! I cant tell you how many kinds of mackerel, tuna, and salmon I've eaten. I've tried the misos and the not-sos, as well as any kind of roll you can think of.... and when I hear of an All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE for the noobs) I have to try it out.
I found this on the Yelp and ventured a look at some of my fellow Elites reviews, most with a 4 or 5 rating, so I thought well it's closer than Sushi Moon (which is under new management), and it's not as crowded as Midori's AYCE. It was a little longer drive there, but in the end it was well worth the extra 3 mies and 5 minutes (we hit a lot of green lights).
The menu is not CRAZY extensive, but it has enough to satisfy your cravings for the specialties as well as some tasty rolls and the higher priced items, ie Uni. The menu actually looked a lot like Nami Sushi before they rid themselves of their AYCE menu to become more of an upscale sushi bar. Miyako had about 12 rolls and all the basic sushi, as well as some appetizers. And for $24.95 I think I ate my monies worth.
But please read their rules, they are very strict on it, much like Midori in Sherman Oaks, they're sticklers on leaving the rice to make a sashimi plate and ordering in a timely manner. There was a DB (douche bag) sitting next to us who order a ton of sushi and just at the fish, he was with a DB friend who, when told that they had to finish the rice too, got frustrated and asked "Can't I just order all you can eat sashimi!?"... I rolled my eyes back and thought, I guess you can't read cause you were sitting right in front of the only rules posted on the bar... le sigh*
We left promptly afterwards in fear that the DB would lash out at the waitress, good thing the chef had a 14" knife.
Overall very good quality sushi and a friendly bunch of people.
NOTE: Be sure to go to the "AYCE Sushi" side because it's joined together with a chinese restaurant, with only a door to split them.
Enjoy!
