Miyazaki Kanko Hotel

Overall a 4 star experience. Old fashioned Japanese ‘modern’ hotel. Amazing location just close to the Oyodo river. Walking distance to many restaurants, cafe and bars. Hotel rooms are spacious and very clean. Just a bit outdated. Staffs are very helpful but a bit cold looking:)

The hotel is beautiful and it has great amenities (top restaurants including a high ranked steakhouse,, an amazing bakery, a gym, hot spring, laundry room and several stores including a kimono rental store. The hotel is located close to malls and the subway station. The staff are very kind and are always willing to assist even if they are not proficient in English . The breakfast buffet is also great and was included in my reservation. Visiting the steakhouse is a must , it is a tad pricey but worth the expenditure. Miyazaki is known for its beef and chicken. My only negative comment pertains to showers in the standard rooms (there are three kinds of rooms). The showers are very dated, have a weird smell and the shower heads are what you would normally find  in a bathroom from the 70s. The rooms are spacious and clean. However, if I had known the showers and tub were so old I would have upgraded to a deluxe room. Overall the hotel is great and it is well priced for its amenities.

The hotel has 2 wings and is a bit old. Quite surprising when was told only the guest in the East Wing has complimentary mineral water😅

The hotel is located next to the river in the town. Nice view. There’s a Family mart and a 7-11 nearby, walking distance. Rooms are spacious by Japanese standards We even had a coach in our room. Both the dinner and breakfast buffet were good as there was a huge selection. Very enjoyable for a tourist to try a bit of everything. Onsen was incredibly popular. So many Japanese ladies, young and old, of all shapes, enjoying the onsen. I too enjoyed the hot dip together with them.

It a bit old style but vey comfortable hotel. Room has a capsule coffee machine. Hot spring is very good with outdoor side. Breakfast has many collections, the best part is the river view.

The room was spacious, clean, and looked as though it was recently renovated. Some of the communal areas and elevator was dated and tired looking which definitely detracted from the overall first impression. We were surprised that there was no complimentary coffee or tea in the room, only green tea?! Japanese husband said it’s first time he’s seen this too. A filtered water and ice machine somewhere would have been good as the tap water is drinkable but not a pleasant flavour. For a few nights someone was smoking in their room despite it being a non-smoking floor, it was quite unpleasant as it permeated into the hall and our room, staff were alerted but don’t think anything was done about it. Overall it was good but we will probably stay somewhere more central next time.

Stayed one night, location is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants and things to do. Definitely an outdated hotel and could do with a renovation, however the room was definitely very large for Japanese standards so the was a plus!(superior queen). If self driving there is a multistory carpark right behind hotel so that’s also a plus.
