This is really good for the budget conscious traveler. It is located a short walk from the train station near a convenience store, shops, and a very nice restaurant area. We slept on comfortable futon beds. The room had a Japanese style toilet and a sink without hot water (other options are apparently available including in-room western toilet). You can get hot water from a common-area sink. There is a western-style toilet located downstairs. There is also a common onsen style bath that can be locked for privacy. I didn’t try it, but my wife said the soaking bath was great. We paid 800 yen each for a Japanese breakfast, which was delicious and very filling. We stayed two nights, and the breakfasts were different. The owner, Ken, speaks excellent English (he lived in Canada for a while), and he was very helpful in our visit to the area. They also had English newspapers and guidebooks in the lounge area. If you eat at one of Ken’s recommended restaurants and let them know, you’ll get your first drink free. (At the restaurant we went to, they just asked us where we were staying.) If you go out and plan to return during the day, I recommend that you take your key with you as they may have stepped away for a short while.
