This hotel is amazing!!! 10/10 would recommended to family and friends. The staff are lovely and welcoming (carried our bags up to the third floor). Our room has a tv, aircon, nicely made beds and a new bathroom. The communal pool is lovely and in a great spot - the trees host hundreds of birds at night!! The history and pictures around the hotel are so interesting and insightful. Would stay here again:))

We stayed at Mizingani Hotel during our time in Stone Town and absolutely loved it. The hotel’s architecture, both inside and out, reflects traditional Omani-Arabic design, which we found incredibly beautiful and atmospheric. One of the highlights for me was the pool, spacious, refreshing, and perfect for both morning and evening swims. Clean beach towels were always readily available, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was hands down the best we had during our entire stay in Zanzibar. The buffet was generous, offering a wide variety of fresh fruits, pastries, and traditional dishes. Enjoying it on the terrace with a stunning view made it even more special. What truly stood out, though, was the staff. They were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout our stay. On our last day in Zanzibar, even though we weren’t staying at the hotel, they kindly allowed us to store our luggage there, which we really appreciated. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Stone Town!

This hotel is stunning. What used to be accommodations for visiting royalty wives and friends has been converted into a charming hotel. The ocean view room we had was huge and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was massive with a large choice of foods. It would be good if someone lit the burners under the bain marie to keep the hot food warm but it was still delicious. The hotel is a great location for walking to stone town markets etc and had plenty of eating options all around. The rooftop restaurant was great as well. They guys at the front deask were always helpful and had great advice.

Good location right on the seafront. The views from the hotel restaurant balcony are excellent, a great place to watch the sun go down over the busy harbour, people playing on the beach and the nearby night market at the Forodhani Gardens.||The rooms have a lot of charm and character. The ones we stayed in had good aircon and recently renovated bathrooms.||Good place to stay if you are exploring Stone Town.

Rooms are spacious, well decorated and had a great shower. Service in the lobby was great, however the restaurant was poor, we sat down, had to get our own menus, had to go up to order, took almost an hour for a pizza despite the restaurant not being very busy. Then at the end it was difficult to sort and add up the total. Location is very good right near the sea. One concern is the proximity to the Mosque, it was so loud at 4am but this will be the same for all hotels nearby!

Heritage building, could not get better. Located right on the beachfront - have to cross the road though. Good food. Friendly service. The rooftops are nice for quiet relaxing. Lovely pool. The breakfast spread is excellent. The rooms facing the pool are great. The rooms are of different sizes so need to choose appropriately. Note that liquor is not served here.

Overall really nice! We booked a sea view suite which was very big and clean. Bathroom was a bit dated though but still fine. Location is amazing, right in the center of town

My expectations when staying in Stonestown are very low. You usually pay a lot for a dusty and loud room filled with issues. Having been disappointed in other places before, I decided to get an offer at Mizingani bracing myself for the worse. What a surprise when I arrived and was received with great service, an stunning decoration, and a comfortable room. The place is absolutely beautiful. It looks like out of a book. My room had a beautiful ocean view, one of the prettiest baths and the strongest HOT shower. Everything was working perfectly, and their pool are has trees that gets filled with birds in the evening, making it truly magical. The staff was extremely helpful. The boys at the reception helped with booking tours, taxis, and making last minute changes for my friend and I. I loved it so much that I booked an extra night and to my surprise, they upgraded me to an even more impressive room. Their rooftop restaurant is also great and has a beautiful sunset view. I’m only surprised it’s so quiet. It was just me there for over an hour, which made it a great place for reflection, but I almost feel bad not to share it with others. Next time I come to Stonestown, this will be my choice, and I’ll recommend it to anyone visiting.
