Mizpah, New Delhi, India - Explore & Book

"Mizpah, nestling in the exclusive Safdarjung Enclave in the south of New Delhi, is a delightful and intriguing marriage of two seemingly disparate cultures – Australian and Indian. Owners Shaun and Caroline have been inspired by their Antipodean hideaway, Mizpah Cottage near Melbourne, to create a little oasis of calm in one of the world’s most dizzying cities, suffusing their Aussie aesthetic with local Delhi influences – and it’s an understated triumph. With only four rooms, the feel here is more of a family home rather than a traditional hotel or B&B. Anglo-Indian touches flow throughout – colonial-era stylings married with bright, modern décor. Here some comfy rattan chairs under gently whirling ceiling fans, there whitewashed walls with pastel and floral fabrics, everywhere dark woods and block prints. Spice colours and local flora sit happily alongside swathes of cool blue intended to evoke Southern skyscapes. There’s also a little café area, where you can take breakfast before a busy day of exploring, or recharge with some local tea and homemade cake in the afternoon, before it transforms into a chic eatery by night. All in all, it’s a haven amid the chaos or the perfect starting point for your passage to the rest of India. Highs The location is perfect: conveniently placed for airport access, and just outside the centre of New Delhi; most of the city’s top attractions are never more than a 20-minute taxi ride awayTop quality service – the hotel can provide personal guided tours through unexplored New Delhi, arrange for a pedicure, rustle up a quick snack or even have the local tailor come round to measure you up for kaftansA great value findA real home from home vibe, a welcome antidote to the busyness of Delhi Lows There’s no pool to cool off in the stifling summer monthsChildren are more than welcome but there isn’t much in the way of activities to keep them distractedLimited street car parking availableOnly 4 rooms so book ahead!" - Handpicked by our hotel experts

Mezpah is more than just a place to rest your head – it’s a little sanctuary in New Delhi. Caroline (the owner) and her team went above and beyond to make our five-night stay incredibly special. I was travelling alone with my 5- and 7-year-old children, and they made everything feel effortless. The guesthouse is in a trendy suburb with great shops, restaurants, and beauty spas just a five-minute walk away. On nights when we stayed in, the onsite food was a hit with my two and made evenings wonderfully easy after busy days exploring. The communal areas and rooms are impeccably decorated, offering a calm, beautiful retreat from Delhi’s bustle. I also loved that you can shop some of the gorgeous textiles and décor onsite – I left with quite a few treasures (those napkins!). There were so many thoughtful, personal touches – staff remembering our names and exact breakfast preferences, handwritten notes, and even an escorted trip to the vibrant Friday night market for an authentic local experience. They checked tuk tuk fares for me, helped arrange transport, and suggested activities that were always spot-on. I paid to use the pool at The Claridges one day and received nowhere near the level of service that Mizpah delivered. If you want a boutique guesthouse in Delhi, this is the place I’d recommend for a truly unique experience.

We loved our 3 night stay at Mizpah. It is located in a very quiet and safe area. The property itself is beautiful and you can see the effort they put in daily to make it feel like home. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and our host Caroline was very accomodating to our needs. The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely small balcony. The room had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and very fresh. Mizpah excels in doing the little things, from organising a welcome drink even though we arrived at 5am, a welcome flower lieu at our first breakfast and a wonderful nightly dinner. Would highly recommended!

The villa is centrally located within a narrow district, close to a school and residential areas, but it does not offer a good views only other residential buildings. It features four beautifully decorated rooms that create a lovely ambiance, complemented by good service. However, please note that the rooms do not include a kettle or refrigerator. The lighting is intentionally dim and romantic, which may not suit those who prefer brighter illumination. The villa does provide filtered water and is equipped with a Philips air purifier for your comfort. The bathroom flush make strong sound that stay for long periods. Stuff are nice. Ac and heater are fitted in each room.

We stayed for two short stints while "doing The Golden Triangle" in Dec 24 and Jan 25. We stayed in the Rose Room and enjoyed the space it offered. The hotel is charming. Our bed was comfortable and the shower was good (though expect 15 minute reheats in any non international hotel in India - from our experience). The staff were universally pleasant and extremely helpful. The food was great. We mainly enjoyed their breakfasts as we were out and about most evenings. I think Mizpah gives great value and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Lovely little boutique hotel Staff were very friendly, Caroline was kind and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would happily recommend a stay here - the location is thankfully a little out of the hussle and bussle of cental Delhi and they came and met us from the airport in the early hours.

A wonderful place to stay in. A truly special home away from home. The staff, the accommodation, and the attention to detail all added to a wonderful stay experience. ||Whether you are travelling alone or with family, staying here makes the whole experience of being in India even more special.

I wish I could give Mizpah 10 stars! Caroline and her amazing staff have created the perfect sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Delhi. It’s located in a beautiful, leafy neighborhood and is designed to perfection. The staff here are the absolute kindest and the food is SO good! We are sad to leave but I’m grateful to have found the perfect place to land after traveling such a long distance.
