MJ Heraghty Bar

After a 25 year gap, I finally made it back to Heraghty's a few weeks ago. The Guinness is the best pint I've ever had, anywhere in the world, outside of Ireland! A great Glasgow pub institution. Cannot wait to go back soon!

Best pint of Guinness in the south side. You need sharp elbows to get a seat but when you do it’s great. And they have Scottish football on tv which is good for a laugh

I have been away from Glasgow for 24 years ,initially living on the Isle of Coll and then Barra and after finding the Hebridean islands a little inbred I left for pastures new in Somerset after meeting a sexy farmers daughter....I returned to visit my sister last week for a few days and we nipped into this traditional Southside pub frequented by Irish decendants. I was impressed by the barman's t-shirt , it being an anti fascist statement of St Pauli football club in Germany. I also am a St. Pauli fan, and I immediately complimented his apparel. Surprisingly, he was rude ,obnoxious, and quite dismissive and turned his back on me, making me wait a minute or two for my Guinness . He said something like, " it makes no difference to me...." What a horrible little man . Me and my sister had a fun afternoon with most of the regulars, and we didn't let it bother us much but I have to mention it . May I also say how sorry I was to hear about Danny .R.I.P.

Perfect 'old man' pub that has updated with modern times. Beautiful traditionally furnished bar. Luxiouriously decorated women's toilet that they eventually were added during the 2000's. No food but you can bring in takeaway pakora from Shahed's next door. Dress code - RFC tops at your own peril! 😂

Great vibes in here! Although they sell the ‘Extra Cold’ Guinness here rather than the regular, which lets it down a little bit. But the pub is so lovely and the staff really friendly. Lovely to see a long-standing family pub continue to do well. I will be back again!
