A fabulous museum for minerals. The collection is amazing and is totally free to visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The museum is neat and clean. I visited here on Friday and there were less people in the building . The museum consists of 3 floors and top 2 floors are stunning with the exhibits. This is a house for every geologist.

The inside it's stunning. They have a cafe so it's pretty convenient. At the left side of the entrance there's a gift shop with really cool things, including raw minerals, necklaces, pendants, and everything you could think of. Good assistance.

Really interesting, and when we went there was a fabulous exhibition of work by Omar Franco. Some information in English - not all the video installations had translation which was a shame.

A great and free of charge museum in the center of Belo Horizonte. The museum is very modern, offering different multimedia options and a good overview about the activities in the mining industry in Minas Gerais. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This could of been a 4 star but staff closes the 3rd floor quite early (almost 20 min early). Nice minerals and metals but they need to respect the hours of opening. Disappointing to see that the staff in this museum (Unlike many others) do not respect hours of operations. However, it is free.

The museum and the interactions are so good, you can touch a Cristal and a meteorite ! The gold mine elevator is awesome, but they say anything about Opala

Another beautiful museum around Praça da Liberdade. This one has selection of minerals from Brazil and other countries. The floors are gorgeous. They have a cafe on the main floor and the exhibits are on the second and third floors. They also have local arts and crafts for sale at the museum store.
