Moae Campsite

Moae is perfect if you know what you're getting and you understand the purpose. Quite simply, it genuinely feels like and is an open deserty space in which a couple of rooms and a toilet-shower block were thrown up (of good quality too). In our case, we parked our camper up under a tree, and enjoyed the absolute peace, solitude, and vibes of a quiet southern African night in the wild. The guys running the place are excellent too. Our first night at the campsite in Kasane came with the vehicle booking and things still feel busy, but this place was our second night and spiritually it felt like the true start of our adventure. Just be aware, there are lots of signs for the place of coming from the Maun end. We came from the Kasane end and there were no signs and no roads leading to it from the point we thought it was on the map. We had actually given up until fortuitously I looked sideways at the right time and saw the last sign before the camp for those coming from the other direction.

Moae is an amazing campsite set in the savanna grasslands on the Chobe Forest Reserve, the area is super wild and the game is amazing. Super friendly staff and great facilities. Definitely a must stay location in that area. This is also a great stop over location on the way to Savuti or Khwai from Kasane or Kazangula.

I had an absolutely awesome experience at Moae campsite. The staff on site was incredibly friendly and helpful - lighting our evening fire when we were off on a game drive, and so eager to help in any way that they could. Elephants walking past the camp in the mornings and evenings were a highlight! Cannot recommend this campsite more highly.

We stayed at Moae in October 2022 with 4 persons. We spent a beautiful night in a remote and quit campsite. Facilities were basic, but better than on other campsites in Chope NP or Moremi GR. Animals could be seen along the ways to and from the camp, including giraffe, hyena, but not inside the camp (which was good for us). Service was very kind and helpful, online booking was easily possible! We can definitely recommend this camp on the way towards Chobe NP (e.g., Savuti)!

Il n'y a absolument rien dans le camping, juste une douche et un toilette pas très clean. Vaut mieux y aller sans réservation pour que ce soit moins cher
