Hidden speakeasy-style restaurants and bars in Singapore to uncover - SilverKris

"A narrow, low-key sake bar with a modern Japanese aesthetic and limited counter seating that attracts serious sake aficionados and after-work patrons. The proprietor curates an extensive selection of high-quality sakes from across Japan, and guests are encouraged to tell the expert behind the bar their preferences and accept recommendations; the izakaya-style food menu includes comforting dishes like oden, generously stuffed cabbage rolls and crispy chicken karaage to pair with the pours." - Rachel Eva Lim

V cool atmosphere. Every dish was excellent. Sashimi were really fresh. The chicken liver dish was pretty unique, don’t see that often. Entrance is a cut little door, everyone had to bend to get in.

Absolutely amazing place. The fish is incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared — you can really taste the quality. Every dish was crafted with care and paired perfectly with their excellent selection of sake. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are very attentive. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food, especially fresh seafood and Japanese sake!

Lovely dinner experience! What a cosy izakaya spot with fantastic music and vibes. It was amazing watching the team in action from our seats - they knew what they were doing, delivered taste to perfection for almost every dish! Definitely worth a mid week treat. I’ll be back to try more dishes soon.

Reservation for 3 at 7:30 on a Monday night. Place was full but had a couple of empty seats after 8:30. Reservation is a must! Ordered the omakase, each dish was a delight and it was always different every time I ate there. As always the decor, lights and music of the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Watching the chefs doing their work was always nice to watch. Music was a little loud for me as we were trying to have a conversation.

What's to say besides, that was great. Food was amazing, drinks were amazing. Small place without a pretentious atmosphere. Great 80s music. Definitely go if u have the time and money. Make sure to reserve.

The food was excellent, we tried the oysters, which were incredibly fresh and full of umami flavour. The oden was also delicious and comforting, with a rich, savoury broth. On top of that, the staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended!

One of my favorites restaurants in Singapore. An Izakaya-style restaurant with a very special intimate atmosphere (especially after they dim the light). The staff is incredibly nice and delivers quality food every night. Trust the boss to couple your food with delicious Saké or get some Highballs. Recommend the sashimi, oysters and the Chicken meatball.

A very cozy and buddy-style izakaya with a slightly hidden entrance, but not too hard to find once you’re close. Loved the warm, welcoming vibe. The tuna egg yolk maki was a standout – especially with the surprise complimentary uni and ikura topping (so good!). The crab cream croquettes were rich and comforting, and the minced meat patty with egg yolk (wish I remembered the name!) was another favourite – juicy and satisfying. Tried the chicken liver sashimi – definitely an acquired taste with its distinct, almost metallic flavour. Liver lovers would appreciate it more. The grilled stingray fin made for a great nibble with drinks – light and chewy in a good way.
