This place seems to be consistently recommended by Lethbridge people across every platform. Thus, we felt a need to give the place a try on our day trip.
Tldr; probably should have taken the advice of recent reviews about understaffing and avoided the restaurant.
It wasn’t a particularly busy day for such a large restaurant, but it was a substantially long time between being seated, brought menus, brought appetizers, and brought entrees.
Food quality didn’t really make up for the long waits either. Appetizer (duck wings) was the only thing notably good (albeit sugars slightly too burnt).
The first entree (en bleu) was $28, so I expected a quality, premium chicken cutlet. It was relatively good, tender, and crisp, but definitely didn’t live up to its price tag. I think I would have preferred the flavour of Popeyes/Jollibee. Veggies were slightly undercooked and the sauce was quite bland for pairing with a deep-fried dish.
The second entree (tortellini daily special) came out with the noodles essentially raw paired in a bland cream sauce. Not al dente, but actually looking powdery on the inside. Asked the waiter regarding this and they offered a new dish, or a remake of the same dish. Somehow still believing in the restaurant’s quality control and that dish being a fluke, I asked for the same dish, which came out equally undercooked, half an hour later. This time, with the sauce tasting even more bland. At that point I just gave up and asked for a takeout box to re-cook the meal at home.
Perhaps this it was an off day for the restaurant? Perhaps had to do with the lack of staff? Regardless, I rate this place 2/5, with an extra star for the somewhat redeeming duck wings.
