"I get up early and meet up with a girlfriend whose family has owned a home on the island forever. We usually get coffee at Mocha Mott’s. It’s no-frills. I get an iced latte, but they have a lot of great pastries."

Great breakfast had of mocha latte and veggie cream cheese (added fresh cucumber slices) on (toasted) asiago cheese bagel. 😋 All staff were very friendly and happy themselves … good vibes! Yeah, it’s raining men!

Google
I love mocha motts- Martha (possible owner of the island) makes the best surprise coffees. I’ve gone every day and will be back. Go there and ask for Martha

Love coming here every year for my morning coffee! This year I bought the clear tumbler and you get a free drink in it!! Food and coffee is amazing, and the store is super cute located underground. You should stop by if your in the area.

Good small cafe! Lots of options and the mocha was great. Several self serve area for utensils, lids, napkins and more. Good place to grab a quick beverage or snack.

Google
Great Coffee.. tiny place, but not that busy when we were there. They would always make drink orders custom and they were super fast in getting it out to you. Loved hitting this first thing in the morning!

Google
Wow, I can see why so many people love this place! The staff is beyond friendly and friendly works extremely hard to get everyone’s drinks and food out in a short amount of time. The bagel and coffee I had were delicious. This has to be the first stop for everyone coming into Martha’s Vineyard. Hope this helps!

Google
Was very busy and lively. We got our order pretty fast. The coffee was good and a pretty fair price for Martha’s Vineyard.

Google
Good Coffee and other specialty drinks! There can be quite a long line during peak times!

Yelp
Great coffee and bagels! People working here are fun and nice! Banana nut bread was moist and not too sweet.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious bagels! The garlic herb cream cheese was good, but the scallion bacon had almost no scallion or bacon. The mochas were not great unfortunately.

Yelp
Mocha Mott's is a cute local MV coffee shop. It's not trying to be fancy or trendy, just a solid cup of coffee and yummy pastries. I appreciated the variety of bagels, muffins, breads, and scones they had. I typically enjoy my morning coffee with something sweet so it was nice to have a large variety of options. The drink menu is also very extensive and has all you could want. Employees are really friendly. I came here early on a Monday morning and it wasn't too crowded at all but not sure what it's like at other times. There's some indoor seating but I would recommend taking your coffee to go and walking over to inkwell beach just a couple minutes down the road to enjoy it by the water. Reasonably priced for MV.

Yelp
The food! The drinks! The service! The ambiance! The PRIDE support! The inside seating! All make up this amazing gem of a coffee/tea shop. We were so surprised to find a coffee shop that catered to everyone in our group's tastebuds. We ordered a lavender lemonade, an iced peach mint tea (heavenly), several sea salt blondes and a raspberry bar. They have sandwiches, bagels, and so much more. Mocha Mott's is a MUST visit establishment when on Martha's Vineyard! It's down a few stairs, but look for the signage. #HappyEating&Drinking

Yelp
Cute little cafe hidden under a shop in Oak Bluffs. Stopped by and tried a variety of their drinks, including an iced mocha, house coffee, hot chocolate, and coffee cake, onion bagel w/ scallion & bacon cream cheese, chocolate croissant. All drinks were great! Iced mocha was sweet with a nice coffee kick. Hot chocolate was smooth but a little too milky for my liking. Coffee was good and smooth - no sourness. Onion "bagel" was good but not very bagel-like - more similar to a bread. Very tasty but not like a classic NY bagel. For some reason they couldn't toast our chocolate pastry (not sure why since there's a toaster for the bagel???) but still tasty. Overall pretty good experience - wish they could toast pastries.

Yelp
Personable staff, coffee beverage was unremarkable. I would possibly visit again, should the opportunity occur.

Yelp
We were a little intimidated by the line outside, but it actually moved fairly quickly. When we were inside, we were greeted by the friendliest staff who prepared the perfect bagels and coffee. It was crazy crowded so we got everything to go as most people did, but it was so refreshing to have such friendly service with such a quality product as well, thank you for starting our morning off great!

Yelp
Great service. Fantastic variety of coffees hot and iced. Delish CC bagels. Some seating and nearby the Oak Bluffs public restroom out the back alley. Hyper local and great vibe! All are welcome!

Yelp
Our coffee shop of choice while in Oak Bluffs. Such a great space right in the heart of the town. You do have to walk down stairs to get there, but the space is nicely done, and you immediately walk in and view the pastries and baked goods. Wow...each day I had to try something different. I have to say that the sesame bagel, was my favorite. I did like the lemon poppyseed cake, but to get you through the rest of the morning...that bagel did it. They have a nice selection of hot and cold beverages and will make to your personal preference. The staff is so friendly and they just made our mornings. We tried another place one day but went back to Mocha Motts the follow days. When you find a good thing...you stick with it. Nice morning coffee followed by a beautiful walk through the residential areas. Not a bad way to start the day. They do have a punch card so, if you plan to stay for an extended period, you can earn a free one. Thanks

Yelp
A black coffee with an Asiago bagel with scallion and bacon cream cheese will hit every time. Solid, quick and delicious coffee and breakfast. Good spot for an on the go type of day. Also the scallion and bacon cream cheese is worth coming back for alone. Service is great always friendly people and Mocha Mott's.

Yelp
Great coffee shop and bakery in downtown Oak Bluffs. Usually there's a line since the place is small and intimate. We got some pastries and they were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well made. The staff is friendly and very efficient as they serve the customers, who mostly get take out because of the pandemic. Their menu is very large and varied and you can get a quick breakfast or lunch bite in minutes. Nice place.

Yelp
Stopped in again today, we come everytime we come to the island. Great breakfast sandwiches, scones, and coffee! We got lox bagels this time around! Will be back again, would reccomend to a friend.

Yelp
The scones and breakfast bars are excellent, the lattes terrific, and the service friendly and helpful. Would recommend highly.

Yelp
Great coffee, Deans Beans are a must.... Service is top, food is great.., atmosphere a staple to the relaxing MV summer...

Yelp
Cute little spot in Oak Bluffs. Came here when I needed a caffeine fix and ordered an iced mocha (it was really good). Though I was on vacation, I will say if I'm ever in Martha's Vineyard again I'll definitely try this place again (apparently they're a local chain).
google avatar

Jess R.

Yelp
Came here in the am for coffee and a latte! Added vanilla which was good and we also ordered the Gluten Free Salted Caramel Blondie which was delicious and a Ham and Cheese Croissant! We didn't order the bagels but they did look comparable to NY ones which is hard to find!
google avatar

Marie L.

Yelp
Simply fantastic coffee, pastries, and service at Mocha Motts! I stopped here to fuel up for a day touring around Martha's Vineyard. The dirty chai latte was the perfect balance of sweet, and the banana bread was delish. I tried the iced mocha which comes out looking like a work of art! You definitely have to stop by this gem while you are in Oak Bluffs.

Yelp
Cute place with great cakes, bars, coffee and bagels. Few seats inside but we ordered and sat outside.

Yelp
Great bagel and good coffee. Make sure you go down the stairs when you're looking for it. Was a little tricky to find at first.
google avatar

Yelp
Here are my recommendations that I have tried: Dirty Chai Latte and Salmon Poppy Bagel Cream Cheese with Capers are so good! These are the solid go to choices here.

Yelp
Best way to start my morning. Incredible staff, bagels & coffee. They are CONSISTENT. I can always trust that I will be happy walking out of there.
google avatar

Yelp
Coffee ain't worth having here. Americano is made with one shot standard so tastes bland. They ask if you want two shots but then it begs the question is it 4 shots or is 1 single shot standard. The answer is 1 shot is half a shot by todays standards. So two shots is actually 1 shot. Confused? So was I. Stick to the standard americano which is two shots of espresso over a 8oz of hot water. Beans are average too. As far as bites go. It's bagels, muffins, or croissants.
google avatar

Tia R.

Yelp
Best espresso and pretty good bagels. We even took home their espresso beans so we can enjoy it after vacation. The espresso is very velvety. They were out of my favorite bagel, Asiago cheese a few times during the week. The line goes out the door but don't be deterred. It goes quickly. There's limited seating and no restrooms inside, so be prepared. Service was always friendly. This was our go-to place for breakfast for the entire week were in MV.

Yelp
So... I grew up on Martha's Vineyard and Mocha Motts in Oak Bluffs was already busy with patrons before I discovered it, myself! First: the staff - all unique people, from different parts of their lives all working together with smiles, laughter and probably the best coffee on the island, they no longer do bfast sandwiches (which were awesome - lost their chef for that service) great bakery items, if you don't want a Cape Cod Bagel. Second: decor - funky, quaint and each location is different from the other... however... its the same year round crew - so, if you don't see them in VH... you'll see then in OB! Third: the owner works there as well, so sometimes you even get to see the owner smiling and taking orders- this truly makes it feel as if everyone who works there is supporting the "family" business! Go MOCHA MOTTS!!

Yelp
For starters, the ambiance or lack there of was utterly pathetic . We got berated by the staff for opening the door because "THE AC IS ON, we'll see you soon." so we waited outside patiently waiting for our breakfast , still in good spirits. the good spirits lasted til we stepped foot into the AC as the lady behind the counter began telling us what they don't have & when we asked what flavor bagels we were abruptly told to look in the display case without the flash of a smile . as we're trying to look at the menu that has been scribbled in 12 point font in cryptic demeanor in chalk, my friend got curious about cream cheese flavors and politely asked for scallion cream cheese , without missing a beat several workers were eager to shout to us that it's actually SCALLION BACON cream cheese. I decided to try a place down the street for a coffee after this encounter, with that being said the bagel was pretty good, but due to the interaction with the staff i will never be coming back which is unfortunate as a frequent summer visitor to the island who used to really enjoy this place and showing it to friends and family.

Yelp
Good place that has a couple of locations on Martha's Vineyard. Good coffee and cheerful staff. Recommend.
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
Delicious iced mocha! This place was voted best coffee on Martha's Vineyard from 2015 to present and you can see why: absolutely delightful flavor.
google avatar

Cristina R.

Yelp
Mocha Motts is making the best coffee in Oak Bluffs! My friend's family has a tradition of coming here after running the Turkey Trot 5K each Thanksgiving. There's no greater motivation when you've woken up early on a holiday to run in the cold than a warm cup of Mocha Motts after it's all over. I've had the chai latte and the mocha, and they are both warm and comforting. They also boast some delish-looking baked goods in the case and can whip up some toasted bagels and breakfast sandwiches. The place is cash only, so bring your dolla dolla bills, y'all. If you are handicapped (or just don't feel like going down the stairs), they've installed a call button on street level where you can call down your order. Equal opportunities for everyone to get caffeinated.. what's not to love?

Yelp
I have been enjoying the summers on MVY for the past 5 years. I have been enjoying a morning latte and bagel from MM for just as long..... but, I must say this summer has been exceptionally disappointing. I understand the issues facing restaurants during these unprecedented times. This does not fall on me as I am a 25 yr veteran in the food service industry. However, after multiple days of bad experiences and multiple Mornings of speaking to managers at the store level - I feel it is now time to address the wider audience. Issues have been everything from From pulling shots for lattes that are exceptionally weak in flavor to no mocha in my mocha latte today I ordered a bagel.... and paid extra ($2.00) for slices of tomatoes.... keep in mind in years past my slices of tomatoes would NEVER be (2.00) each. Today I paid $2.00 for 1 very very thin slice of tomato. I find this repulsive. I could go to the grocery store on circut avenue and pay 1.45 for an entire tomato! Do better MM! Do better! No one wants to spend for Mediocre service or product and the lack of detail WILL catch up to you!
google avatar

Yelp
Mocha Motts is a staple on my visits to Oak Bluffs. Sort of a definitive point of the summer. It's small, it's Cash Only, and it's loud. However, all of that is excusable for the quality of their coffee. Every brew is smooth and full of flavor. They are a slew of syrup-based and brewed flavors that are regularly brewed, and only quick to run out due to its popularity. A staple for us? The Iced Banana Mocha, which tastes just like a chocolate-dipped banana. The prices are on par with the Vineyard. It is Martha's Vineyard, after all. A good sized Iced Coffee will run you around $5, depending on your flavor. It's small, as I said, but easily accessible, with two stairwells down to the cafe for exit and entrance.

Yelp
Excellent coffee. We stopped here multiple times on our weekend stay on Martha's Vineyard. Every visit yielded perfect coffee for everyone. Iced coffee or hot coffee, every cup was perfect.
google avatar

Donald A.

Yelp
I've been in the Boston, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard area for almost a week now and this is the best coffee thus far. I had a hazelnut latte and a raspberry bar. Both were very good. The service was friendly and quick.
google avatar

Mikey S.

Yelp
their iced mocha is 10/10 delish. don't let a long line deter you because service is very quick. this is one of the cheaper spots in oak bluffs. the vibe in there is very nice and the baristas are nice.
google avatar

Aya T.

Yelp
I came here early morning to get my drink. It's a tiny coffee shop but people kept coming to grab their drinks! Must be a good coffee shop. I ordered an iced Chai Latte which was not too sweet to my like. It was refreshing on a muggy morning! The staff was very efficient and got my drink and got out quickly.

Kathryn S.

Yelp
Mocha Motts is like the Starbucks of MV, just way way better in every way possible. Great coffee, and an awesome staff.
google avatar

Jaimee A.

Yelp
We have gotten coffee here several times and it is pretty good. The lines are usually long but move fairly quick. They also have pastries and other treats but we have never tried them. The space is very tight and you are tripping over your fellow patrons while waiting for your coffee or when getting cream and sugar.
google avatar

W C.

Yelp
We went to Mocha Motts this morning since it's right around the corner from our hotel. It's a simple and unassuming place, and pretty much all the locals there knew each other, which was nice to see. We got an iced coffee and a cafe au lait--both were delicious, especially the former. We shared a warm chocolate chip cookie with our daughter; it had just come out of the oven and was still melty. Nothing mind-blowing, but well-done. We also got this sunbar thing which was like a magic bar, but healthyish. Pretty good. All in all, a cute spot to grab your morning joe with no bells or whistles. No complaints.
google avatar

Patti T.

Yelp
Wanted to like this place, but unfortunately could not. Average beverages and tasteless food. Ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. No flavor at all. Needed to add additional salt to get through half of it. Lower, downstairs location dank and HOT. AC on wall but not on. Staff friendly. So many other locations that are much better.
google avatar

Vivien T.

Yelp
after a disappointing brunch.. we went across the street bc we kept seeing a line forming as we were waiting for our breakfast to come.. so we decided to investigate.. and it did not disappoint.. my goodness, it's apparently the best coffee in martha's vineyard.. the cold brew instantly woke me up.. the coffee itself tasted great.. and i'm kind of a coffee snob.. if you're ever in town.. i definitely recommend.. especially after eating such a lackluster breakfast..
google avatar

Mich R.

Yelp
Always a great place on the vineyard to grab a coffee. It's a little shop downstairs on the main strip on Circuit Street in Oak Bluffs. They have hot and cold coffee drinks, but no frozen coffees. They are cash only, so you're cards won't fair here. They have nice little treats and snacks as well, all homemade, and super tasty. They have pumpkin seed granola bars, cookies, muffins, and dessert bars. The iced mocha is bomb. The line can get pretty crazy in the am, so try to time it right. Great pit stop for a nice pick me up!
google avatar

K M.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee & espresso. Rockstar staff working here. Tried the other location in Vineyard Haven and didn't get the same friendly vibe. The one in Oak Bluffs is the perfect small town coffee shop with everything you need to start your day - smiles, a little friendly banter, caffeine and something to eat at a good price!
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
The workers were not very friendly and my coffee didn't taste great. I think I probably ordered wrong getting sugar free vanilla in my cold brew, but was pretty undrinkable. Will have to try something else next time.
google avatar

Kira Y.

Yelp
Such a cute place! Service was amazing - the staff was very nice. Drinks were pretty good. A nice place to stop for some quick caffeine.
google avatar

Lori W.

Yelp
I do not drink coffee nor do I like coffee. My amazing fiancé drinks one coffee daily. Based on the reviews, we chose this place. My fiancé loved his coffee. Me: hot chocolate and REAL whipped cream. Low-fat milk. It is all a balance... Can certainly imagine the long lines that snake outside and up the stairs. Thank goodness we are here during the off season so we cruised right inside. Polite staff. Easy to see why they win the "Best Coffee" awards every year.
google avatar

Joshua H.

Yelp
This place is less than desirable compared to other coffee places on the island. The lines were extremely long which led me to believe that the coffee would be equally as satisfying. The coffee was standard at best and the weight for two lattes was probably 15 minutes. The worker behind the counter was not communicating well and was leaving drinks sit on the counter without identifying whose order it was. This led to us accidentally grabbing somebody else's drink. Since all of the drinks were labeled with the same lettering, we assumed that it was ours. Upon finding out that it was not, the worker clearly pointed us out to the woman who's drinking really was and try to shame us for grabbing the wrong drink. After trying other coffee spots on the island I would certainly say that I will not return to this location.
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee spot on MV- not that I've been to many others - because mostly come here The coffee is very good, the baked goods (I think they get from off island) and sandwiches are nice too. There is always a line in early morning- which speaks for itself. The space is small by has a great vibe if you want to sit. Lastly - the staff is friendly, especially Scotty who has been there forever

Alexis N.

Yelp
Ladies behind counter had a rude attitude and didn't seem like they wanted to assist us. She yelled at me when I asked for a baked good because she didn't understand why I couldn't grab it off the display myself. (Weird right?) Coffee had wayy too much milk to coffee ratio, should've ordered a splash. If I were to visit again I'd need to have thoroughly read through the coffee selection and ordered something with a stronger coffee flavor.

Nancy A.

Yelp
Awesome iced cappuccino and the rest of the menu looked interesting. Nice, accommodating staff- cool spot, would recommend

Yelp
Basically the Starbucks of Martha's Vineyard but 100 times better. They are in every little town and insanely popular. Their prices are competitive and the food served is better.
