Pop up bar for game of thrones was awesome! Waited in line but that was expected. Drinks were great and the prices were reasonable. The staff was fun and inviting. Must do before the end of the show this season.

Months ago two friends took my wife and I to this unique bar. We only ordered apps and drinks, but the apps were great (wow, the olives were EXCELLENT!). I'm not convinced I am a fan of sherry, but the drinks I had were good. I give this place four stars for bringing the unique to DC and for opening right next to a Metro in an up and coming DC neighborhood. For sure go once for a unique experience.

I was skeptical at the idea of a Sherry Bar at first, but was quickly dissuaded of this notion upon actually visiting this cozy bar (and coffee house!). Not only did I learn that Sherry refers to a region (just like Port), but that all Sherry isn't the sickeningly sweet stuff of popular imagination. That said, I sampled a range of Sherry in various flights and am not certain that it is 'my drink' but this has nothing to do with Mockingbird Hill, which itself is excellent and worth the experience. If you are curious as to the wider world of Sherry, or already a fan, this is the place to go!

Did someone say Sherry? Not the cream stuff! Yea, they have tons and by far the largest in section in the DC and probably on the east coast. They have a nice selection of cheese and cured meats to go with it. I highly recommend they're Sherry flight because they're a great deal. They also have a nice assortment cocktails inspired by Sherry...of course it's Derek Brown.

You want ham? Actually this is not a question it's a statement... You want ham. Mockingbird Hill serves some amazing prosciutto blends. If you are a n00b to salted meats, go for the sampler... Long story short... I love pig Mockingbird Hill also has a strange affection for sherry which admittedly I am a n00b when it comes to them. They are more than willing to share their knowledge an guide you on a tour through the sherry Valley. Which should start with the sherry garlic back. Seriously it's fantastic.

This is a review for Mockingbird Hill's Christmas pop-up, Miracle on 7th Street. For the month of December, this sherry and ham bar was transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Decked to the nines with ornate white and gold tissue paper pom poms, gold tinsel, twinkly lights, and gold stars, this pop-up featured Christmas-themed drinks. Drinks are served in mugs, glasses, and shot glasses adorned with Santa's face. Miracle on 7th Street also promotes daily holiday festivities like DIY Christmas crafts, holiday movie night, or even the traditional ugly sweater night. I came on a Friday night, which was free cookie night! The pop-up had ten cocktails and one egg not shot ($4). Cocktails are $12 except the Mele Kalikimaka (tiki bowl for 2 people) for $27. I had the You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!, which consists of blended scotch, pisco, drambuie, lemon curd, pistachio "orgeat", and gingerbread cream. It's a frothy drink, and you need to make sure to mix the gingerbread cream in with the liquid so that the taste is more balanced. My boyfriend got the Gretchen, Stop Trying to Make Fetch Happen (moscatel sherry, dry curaçao, spiced cranberry syrup, and sparkling wine). It was too sweet for his taste but otherwise pretty good. Is it worth the (at least) one hour wait? Eh, I've definitely had better cocktails for less wait time. It's honestly the holiday ambiance. I haven't encountered a more kitschy Christmas bar anywhere else yet. Luckily, this 70 degree weather made waiting outside ten times more bearable than it otherwise might have been. If you don't mind the wait and want the festivities, step in line. Recommend getting to Mockingbird Hill before 5 when they open.

Had a great time here on a Saturday night. Not overly crowded, excellent selection of Sherries (surprise, surprise), knowledgable and attentive staff, and a good vibe. The only reason I'm giving 4 rather than 5 stars is the rather paltry serving of Lamb Prosciutto I received for $10. I'm not rushing back, but I'll definitely return!

A requirement for this place is that you should like Sherry or willing to give it a sporting try. They have all kinds and if you do not know, ask the bartender cause they are very knowledgeable. You should also get a few of their small plates, they pair with the sherry very well.
