Google
This is a fantastic museum with lots to see. My ticket gave me access to the exhibits and permanent collections. It was beautifully curated with detailed - but not overwhelming - descriptions of each section. I went to several museums in Nice and I would highly recommend this one. Plus, the views of the city (from windows inside the building and also the circular roof terrace) are magnificent.

Google
Nice museum, a lot of space to walk around. Unfortunately there could be a bit more art especially more modern art. Yves Klein is nice to look at. For a few euros more you can buy a museum pass to see all the other in Nice as well. That’s good.

Google
The staff is nice, but the museum is dirty and dusty, and it seems grungy. The coolest part is the roof or you can walk up and down these bridges to go all around the building and give you fantastic views. The place has great potential but it’s very tired, dirty and dusty. The Gardens looks like they might be under construction and there might be a plan to fix them up. I hope that’s true because it’s a space with incredible potential but right now it’s just ratty.

Google
Weird and wonderful art here. Interesting enough to spend 1-2 hours. Modern and creative ways of portraying political messages. Well worth coming if you like art, otherwise perhaps not worth 10€ per adult. Several floors here, so you can always skip the less exciting ones. A great view of Nice from the top platform.

Google
Great place to see modern art from not only France but all around the globe from different historical periods and movements and by different artists. Wonderfully structured and organized exhibitions on 4 floors. You can easily spend at least 2 hours contemplating all the art there.

Google
An excellent museum displaying predominantly French modern art. At the time of my visit, there was an Italian art exhibit as well. Most art pieces are accompanied by descriptions that are in both French and English, as well as in Italian. The museum is thus very tourist friendly. Finally, for €10, the rate of admission is very reasonable and accessible. I highly recommend checking this museum out.

Google
This museum is excellent, offering a plethora of things to see. I was utterly stunned by the Niki de Saint Phalle collection. Additionally, there is a terrace with a wonderful view of Nice, making it a great place to spend time after the exhibition. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind

Google
I highly recommend this contemporary art museum. It has a wide variety of exhibits, and the quality is quite good. It features renowned contemporary artists as well. I also strongly recommend visiting their rooftop, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Nice.

Yelp
This museum taught me that perhaps modern art isn't exactly my muse. It's a good museum, but I've been to better. I can't say I was particularly inspired by a lot of the art. Best room is with the artist who's fascinated with the vibrant blue and women using their bodies to paint on canvases. Everything is translated into multiple languages. Overall it deals with modern Italian art from the 1960-70s. Lots of films in Italian.

Yelp
Maybe I don't appreciate modern art or I'm not cultured enough, but this was one of my least favorite museums I've been to. I've been to the Tate Modern, San Francisco MoMa, and Bilbao Guggenheim, and I found the art in this place just too bizarre for my taste. There were 3 floors of exhibits and it was enough for me - the first floor was a temporary exhibit and was so strange. There was a giant " 1-bedroom " apartment exhibit that looked like someone was moving in or out of their apartment and didn't unpack with water bottles and other trash on top of water bottles. There were blankets in dry cleaning bags, and other ordinary pieces you'd find just hung or laying on the floor. The other exhibits were slightly less weird, but there were just a lot of canvases or fabrics painted or dyed in all one color. The Yves Klein stuff all in blue was interesting and very colorful. But other things like a rope died different colors, a pile of rocks, and other things that I could have made myself was not impressive. Maybe if there was an audio guide that explained things better, it would be have been more interesting but I spent an hour in there and had enough. I've never heard more snickering in a museum in my life. The entrance fee is 10€ but free for students, but I would have just preferred to get a coffee something instead. No offense to those who like really modern art, but this was just not for me. Plan to spend 1-1.5 hours here, it's not super big. It was raining and cold in Nice when we went, so we didn't feel like we wasted a good day outside, but this would not be my first choice of things to do in Nice.

Yelp
For a reasonable price you get a/c and 4 flights of very bizarre art. However even if you hate all the art in the place you can head up to the top floor for a 360 view of the city that alone is worth the price of admission.

Yelp
Definitely worth your time if you're a contemporary art fan. The collection is superbly curated, and the building is spectacular. Artists are featured that I have not seen in the States. But I guess it's hard to ship a blown up car to America for display. Make sure you claim all the way up to the roof deck.

Yelp
In some ways the building is more impressive than the contents. I went using my 10 Euro ticket which allowed me to visit most of Nice's museums over a three day period). It was a Sunday when I visited and access to the terraces (on about the fifth floor) weren't open. I'm not sure if it was closed because it was the weekend, but it could well have been.

Yelp
One of my favorite museums in the world. Small, but extremely well curated. Fantastic collection of Yves Klein, and (surprisingly) Robert Indiana. You can see the museum in one visit, but (if you're like me), you'll want to go a second (or third) time.

Yelp
First of all the yelp location is incorrect. It is not anywhere near the airport (or 4 miles away from town center). The name of the museum is something like Museum of Contemporary Art and it is located closer to Old Town. Admission is free. A nice place to visit to kill some time. This is a decent museum of modern art. A little worn around the edges. The collections are nice but not spectacular.

Yelp
For free admission, this facility is quite impressive. It is the haven for modern and contemporary art in Nice, with a very impressive Yves Klein collection! Give yourself a few hours here and truly take in the various artists and exhibitions. Like most museums, it's closed on Mondays.

Yelp
Wow! I had a great experience here on my last day in Nice. It was incredibly hot outside, and somehow I was in the throes of a bad cold (on a summer trip to the Mediterranean?! Now that's bad luck.). I was looking to kill a few hours before my plane took off, so I decided to check out the MAMAC. As a silly American tourist, I was worried it would be expensive. Ha! I mentioned at the front desk that I was a student, and asked if there was a reduced fee. The woman at the front desk said that all of Nice's museums were 100% free for students, and gave me a printout with tickets to all of them! If only I had had more time! Anyway, MAMAC was great. They were doing an interesting exhibition on artists who were influenced by Nice native Henri Matisse. It might sound like a rather contrived idea for an exhibition, but I think they pulled it off. The permanent exhibits were great, too, with significant pieces from abstract expressionist and pop art styles. Next time I'm in Nice (which hopefully will be soon) I'd love to check it out again, as well as the other museums.

Yelp
Four floors of modern art for your visual pleasure (or confusion). Among its collection are sculptures made of consumer refuse, surrealist photography, and walls of industrialist pop art. Admission is free to the public.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my first visit ~4 years ago (would have given it 5 stars). This time, not much has changed. I'd say less than 20% is new. The lower rating is just because of that. The rooftop terrace is great, and you have nice views of Nice.

Yelp
The Museum of Modern Art in Nice is a very interesting staple sight for tourist, especially during a hot day when the AC and silence in the museum is very refreshing. The museum is located easily between the new and old Nice, and it's a walking distance from most of the main attractions of the town. The museum is divided in four floors, which of one or two is used for alternating exhibitions, while the rest is for permanent display of the museums collection. However, the museum is not too grand, so it doesn't take hours to go through it. When I visited in the summer of 2009, there was fabulous exhibition by American artist Robert Longo, and the permanent show, which includes the likes of Warhol, Yves Klein, Saint Phalle, Beuys etc. Even if you've been there before, it's woth the visit to see the alternating exhibition albeit you wouldn't check the permanent collection again. When I visited, the entrance was free, but I don't know if that applies only during the summer season. The museum has a shop that sells books, postcards, jewelry and small furnishings.
