Looks like they have deleted all their previous negative reviews. We had a rental with them in 2020, which we were unable to use due to COVID travel restrictions and a nationwide lockdown. James Murphy refused to refund $6000 for a house rental we could not use. If during a pandemic, there was no hope, then I say renter beware. Quote from Jim: "You ask, “why it is so difficult to issue a refund?” I am a successful businessman who is in business to make money. I am not ashamed to say that."

We had a wonderful experience at the Alan Ladd home over Christmas… while there were one or two things that needed to be addressed they were addressed quickly and efficiently. We found the rental company to be very cooperative and the house was really wonderful for all 10 of us.

MY CAR WAS STOLEN OUT OF THE GARAGE IN THE GATED COMMUNITY OF 7 LAKES where I was renting from Jim Murphy for almost 2 years. I had to remain there until I got my car repaired. I asked Laurie Scully (who is so lovely and i guess has to take orders for Jim Murphy) at Mod Mansions if I needed to give a 30 day notice and she said that under the circumstances that I did not need to give a 30 day notice because they knew I was waiting for my car to be fully repaired. During my time there I was constantly insulted by the owner calling me names, always a condescending jerk. From the first night that I spent there I had problems that started with no hot water. They finally had to replace the water heater after 4 days without hot water about a month later. Water from the AC flooded the foyer. Water came from the drains and flooded the primary bathroom and bedroom. Flys made nests in the rotted skylights. Even a few days before I left the apartment immaculate I was told that I would be charged daily DEDUCTED FROM THE DEPOSIT THAT WOULD BE RETURNED TO ME if I stayed even a day longer. So I was sure to be out by the last day of the month. It would be the first of December after many emails and phone calls that I received and email that "if he had rented it" that he was going to give me my deposit back, or part of it. The owner is supper nice at the beginning, after the check out he refuses to return your security deposit and he makes up some lies and excuses. I burned my hand because the temperature of the shower was boiling hot , the owner did not care. He also discriminate against your race , religion and color. The pool was nasty, my husband got sick. Stay away from this place.

Fantastic!! I could not more heartily recommend renting a house from ModMansions. The property was beautiful, modern, comfortable, clean and David the property manager was beyond responsive. We did have text him on a few occasions for very minor items and he always answered within 15 minutes. He met us at the beginning of our stay to walk us through the property and answer any questions. He went over the noise ordinance (this is a City of PS ordinance- not specific to ModMansions) and left all of us his phone number in the event that we needed anything. he could not have possibly been more pleasant. I get everyone's griping about the noise restriction but honestly, the home we stayed in was a quiet neighborhood and it's just courtesy to be respectful of the neighbors. If you want a big loud party house, do not rent in Palm Springs proper. Go out to Rancho Mirage or Indio. My group of girlfriends and I rent a home in Palm Springs every year and this was by far the best rental and the best rental agency we have ever used. 10 out of 10 in our book! Thanks to David and Lorie for everything.

ModMansions turns Palm Springs into Calm Springs. Every element of comfort is stocked here for your easy vacation: beach towels, fluffy robes, burr coffee grinder, blender, and acrylic glasses for poolside drinking. I've vacationed here 8 times and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The owners are meticulous about keeping it clean and modern. When we were there, they were even swapping out the beds for new ones! This is our family reunion place because it works; enough space for privacy, but plenty of gathering places for dinner and poker games too. And, if you ever have a problem, a quick text to your concierge solves the problem - he responds within minutes. I've never been disappointed staying at any of these mansions and you won't either.

Let me start by saying that this is a beautiful property. It is fully furnished, linens and towels are provided, the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans and dishes, the pool area is gorgeous, the spa and pool are heated at no extra charge, everything works and the manager is awesome and informative. Why the two stars? We had done a lot of shopping before settling on this place. Not until final contracts were drawn up and we were no longer able to find similar lodging for a group our size, we were told about the incredibly strict noise control ordinances with the city. We were told anything louder than a conversation in the oasis backyard would result in a certain $700 first offense penalty. Any subsequent complaints would be subject to expulsion from the property. Yes, I know, this has nothing to do with the owner of this property and they are only victims to neighborhood complaints and strict ordinances. That is not my problem. As a customer, I have a choice and my choice is never to rent this property, or any property in Palm Springs, again. If given a choice, go to a different neighborhood or city. If you plan on renting the 7 bedroom Cuckoo's next place with the oasis backyard, plan on not enjoying it the way normal groups would. Sit in the air conditioned gorgeous inside and, for goodness sake, no music.

While I have not stayed in one of their properties as of yet, I wanted to commend the ModMansions team on their superb customer service. We had a Covid related issue surface which affected our reservation and Laurie could not have been more accommodating. Look forward to staying at one of their beautiful properties soon!

I Would not recommend using mod mansions for your get away.. when I booked the place they didn't / don't tell u that you can be loud outside in the day time, all I was told when I checked in was that outside was for us to take a dip , tan , and read a book .. and that we can be loud inside with the doors closed. We are loud people..not saying parting loud just our voices .. plus you are on vacation.. the Jacuzzi was not heated.. what is a jacuzzi for , to be cold? The office staff don't care and are not helpful. I can go on and on .. They kept my deposit stating that the casita smelled like smoke put we don't have no one that smokes.

Beware. Seven months after booking, I received an email from ModMansions stating that our booking was unavailable for the week of our stay (Christmas) due to an error in their reservation system. This was less than 60 days before our trip, after ModMansions had held half of the deposit for the entire period, and after several calls from me questioning when the remainder of the reservation would be charged. It took several more calls from us to have our initial deposit refunded. David promised to make it right; I guess this meant finding us an AirBnB in Cathedral City (hence the one-star rating), but this was not what we had planned for. We would not book with them again because we feel this was an avoidable problem and we question the competency of the office staff.

We stayed at the Cuckoo's Nest Estate and couldn't be happier with the place and the amazing hospitality David showed us. There were a few families that stayed at the estate. The layout of the house is perfect for a large group - there is plenty of space and it never felt crowded. The kids loved the pool and all of the floaties provided. The house was well stocked and very clean. The outdoor patio area is perfect for dining outside and feels like a resort. Also, the location is walking distance to downtown, which is another big perk. We loved the house and would definitely stay again.

Our group of 13 had an amazing time at the cuckoo's nest house! From the start Jim and Kenny at ModMansions were the nicest, most accommodating property managers we have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. We rent in Palm Springs about once a year but are usually a smaller group, we searched high and low before finding this property and Jim worked with us to get it booked. When we arrived Kenny met us and gave us a tour. The pictures of this house do not do it justice the house is beautiful, tastefully decorated and comes with all sorts of extras to make your stay extra special including plenty of fridge space a ping pong table and a great kitchen. There was plenty of space for our group of 13 to feel comfortable and to be together and enjoy each other's company but not feel cramped or crowded. The backyard is amazing and we had a great time hanging out in the pool and on the large covered patio space. We had a slight issue on Saturday and Kenny handled it impeccably and professionally! We received our damage deposit back within a couple weeks of returning and over all had an amazing stay. From now on ModMansions will be the only rental company we use in Palm Springs.

Our group of 14 stayed at the Songwriter's Sanctuary home in Palm Springs this past weekend for Coachella. Laurie was amazing. She handled all of the payments, paperwork, and communicated very well with everything. David contacted me about a week before our stay and provided an amazing list of things to do, places to check out, where to buy groceries, and a list of all the rules for the house. When we arrived this past Friday, David was there waiting for us to give us a tour of the house and go over a couple of things and he was on his way. He provided great detail about the house and important things to know. The house itself was amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. It was much bigger than the pictures showed. It fit our group perfectly. We were all comfortable, everyone had their own bathroom to use, and it was a beautiful home. Please note, Palm Spring's has a very uptight noise ordinance law. So don't expect to be throwing parties or playing music outside. But that wasn't too much of an issue for us. Just something to note. I would definitely recommend and look forward to using ModMansions again. Laurie and David are incredible and so easy to communicate and talk with. They really look out for their guests. Thanks for everything guys!

Our group stayed at the 245 Celebrity Hideaway property this past Coachella weekend, and the home exceeded all of our expectations. The property was much larger than the photos, and nicely appointed. The management team was also highly communicative and did a great job of setting expectations. While other people are not giving 5 stars because the noise ordinances of Palm Springs, this is outside the control of the management group, so I'll leave it at this... Although the home was amazing, the new noise laws prevented us from enjoying any music outdoors by the pool - even during the day. We were not a group trying to party at the house, but we operated in a constant state of fear the neighbors might complain over any sound above a conversation level (as this could either forfeit our security deposit or even get us removed from the home). If you are looking for a relaxing weekend in PS and don't care about having lively music by the pool - I highly recommend ModMansions. But if you are a group looking to party and enjoy yourselves, I'd avoid Palm Springs altogether.

Our annual gathering this year went from fantastic to annoying, before deteriorating into upsetting. We rented a 6 bedroom home for the weekend (pre-Coachella) for a friends and family getaway. From 4pm on a Saturday on, we received noise complaints and the property manager came by to let us know we were violating their noise ordinance. Mind you at the time, he found less than 10 people scattered between inside and the pool area AND was greeted at the door by a mother with a sleeping baby in her arms. We were not a loud group.. nor were we obnoxious, loud or yelling.. it was a very mellow weekend ! The rest of the trip was awkward and we ended up going out during the day and eating out instead of spending time at the house for fear of losing our $2k deposit and getting kicked out. The house was great and perfectly suited for entertaining large groups. Which made it even more ironic! Will never rent through Mod Mansions again.

I spent a long weekend at Mod Mansions' Cuckoo's Nest House with a group of 9. We had a wonderful experience working with Mod Mansions from start to finish. The reservation process was simple and Laurie was easy to communicate with and wonderfully helpful answering all of my questions. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly by David who showed us the home. The home was clean, very well stocked with everything we needed, and was beautifully decorated. The layout is very spacious with plenty of room for everyone. There was a great pride of ownership that was evident throughout the house. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back in the future! Thank you to the whole Mod Mansions team for making it a great experience!

I stayed at this home during check in David was direct in a rude way during the process a very matter of fact person. From the time we arrived till we left it was painful!! If you stay here plan on staying inside the home and not the less than 100 degrees hot tub that will cost you an additional 300 to pre heat and 100/day, Be sure not to laugh or make any noise or you will live with the fear of getting evicted. We were told at the onset that the db level was 50 when in Palm Springs the db level is 60.. if you want a hot shower with good water pressure forget about it not here!!!!!The kitchen sink mixing valve is a disaster and getting hot water out of it requires a MBA in plumbing. If you enjoy the smell of sewage stay in the outdoor access bedroom. The venting of the waste lines must have a issue as the smell never left the room even after flushing the main lines with gallons of water. The towels are old and tired as is the vacuum cleaner that has seen better days. in addition for 1000/night for ten days plan on bringing your own toilet paper, and trash bags etc. Be sure not to overload the 1 trash can and the 1 recycle can during your stay in a house that sleeps 12 as you may pay a fee, so plan on packing your own trash out or bring a box cutter to cram it into the trash can. I can find a extra roll of toilet paper and trash bags in any Motel 6 but not here at this MOD Mansions. Ultimately we left two days early forgoing the 2 k of the additional nights. We left the home better than we found it. So if your dreaming of a winter get away to Palm Springs and enjoy some pool side drinks don't stay here. I have stayed in nearby homes in the neighborhood and found them to be a great experience.

Our 4th visit to the "Betty Grable" house was as outstanding as the first 3. Jim, David and the rest of the MM team have continued to exceed expectations with each and every guest. They consistently listen to guests feedback and provide updates, upgrades and amenities to make living in their mansions the most luxurious stay imaginable (sans the butler and chauffeur :) ) So whether it be the latest technology for access to social media and entertainment, a burr grinder for that special coffee, or the softest and fluffiest (is that even a word?) towels, there are no better accommodations in Palm Springs than Mod Mansions, PERIOD.

Extremely poor customer service. We stayed at the 1414 Sagebrush property. First off I would like to say that this property is dirty. The pool was filthy and after the owner was contacted he did nothing about it. The water quality and pressure in all bathrooms were poor. It was either too hot or too cold and it actually led to some skin irritation on one of our friends. If you are looking to have a normal conversation in the background, this property is not for you as the owners themselves will call the Compliance code people so they can withdraw your security deposit on you. STAY AWAY.

This review is for the people who gave a poor review to this management company and dont know better. Get a life and try owning / running a business that is at the mercy of tenants and renters that have a Yelp! point of view. Yelpers are thin skinned basement dwellers that couldnt mange a rental if there life depended on it:

It's true that Palm Springs is pretty strict on their noise ordinance, I guess this is due to a lot of people parting loudly at all hours of night and day, but can't blame them as most people are there to party, vacation and have fun. Having said this, I've been vacationing in Palm Springs since I was a freshman in high school, I've stayed and partied in different places from motels to their higher end hotels, from small one bedroom houses to big mansion style houses, and very rarely have the police been called for noise complaints and I've never been ticked, just warned to keep it down, if not mistaken that's actually standard practice, to warn first and cite if called again in the same day. I very strongly believe that this, so called, company/business (ModMansions) calls the police on their own customers to keep their deposit. That's why they're so adamant about the noise ordinance and have laminated typed papers, they call sighs, posted at every turn in their "mansions" and in their contracts, so the customer has no way of receiving their deposit back, as it's all in the contract they have to sign to stay at one of their properties. I, of course, have no way of proofing this, but it's not too hard to see that they have the upper hand as soon as their customer signs that contract, and of course, the likelihood that the customers are, at some point of their stay, going to be a bit loud. After all, they're there on vacation and to have fun. ModMansion customers, some how, almost always seem to get fined or cops called for noise complaints when at any other rental property in Palm Springs that rarely happens or the vacationers are being extremely loud, and most of the time, for an extended period of time. What is a vacation for if not to cut loose a bit. In other words, avoid their properties like the plague if you want to have any sort of fun on your vacation. I've never seen a vacation property with so many rules posted on every wall you look at. I guess the pictures they have posted here on Yelp of those young people having fun are a different vacation rental company. You definitely can't do what they're doing in those pictures at Mod Mansion properties without getting fined and having your deposit kept. ModMansions is a good place if you and ten of your friends want a quiet place to play Magian, LOL. ModMansions wants to be "your home away from home," if you happen to live in a library, that is.

We had a fantastic stay at this gorgeous and modern home, Las Palmas Vista. Everything from the wonderful host to the architecture truly made it a perfect trip. David greeted us our first day and answered all our questions. The house was very clean and had an open floor plan which made interaction between everyone easy. The modern kitchen was fully stocked and the outdoor pool area was a fantastic way to relax. It was truly a home away from home with everything provided such as towels,laundry room, and BBQ. The location was close within driving distance to everything we needed but faraway enough to feel the tranquility that you expect in Palm Springs. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would recommend ModMasions to anyone and we will definitely be booking another great stay with them again and again!

We were there for the weekend and had a blast! The whole place was beautiful and spacious and we LOVED the pool and hot tub. Everything was decorated nicely and the rooms felt cute. Overall a very fun experience, I'd highly recommend!

This home was amazing! We are a large group with a lot of little ones under the age of 5. This home was extremely clean and the size of the house was huge! It was enough to spread out and not be disturbed by our little monsters. The best part of the stay had to be the manages David and Laurie. They met us at the home and gave a very thorough walk through which I felt was important. They were also extremely responsive to any calls or texts we sent during our trip. The house was perfect! the style of the home really made you feel comfortable. It wasn't super fancy , but had a great home feel to it. We plan to book again for our annual trip next year.

I'm in the camp of Sanam C's review....do not judge a book by its cover. David Monaghan one of the owners was very nice and the house looked great. The the following happened: 1. pool heater not working (3 visits from Dave and couldn't get it working. Ruined my families time as we wanted a house with a heated pool which was promised.) They did refund the heating deposit of $400 but it took several phone calls and emails to Laurie Scully to get it done after she promised to get back to me and didn't. 2. kitchen window handles broken so all three kitchen windows couldn't be opened 3. clogged drain in master bath 4.kithen cabinet doors not hanging properly or closing properly 5. dish washer had issues turning on 6. very low water pressure 7. poor water heater I asked for additional inconvenience refund but was refused. The other owner, Jim Murphy was copied on all correspondence but never responded....not what you hoped for over $800 a night. I am now adding this update.....although there's a noise ordinance in Palm Springs its OK for construction to start at 7am. On the third day of our visit my entire family was awakened by sawing wood at 7am....so check if there's construction going on near you. AND NOW I ADD YET ANOTHER ISSUE....After 72-hours of asking for a final statement Laurie Scully, Jim Murphy and Dave Monaghan have all gone dark on me....

This was truly a delightful and amazing experience and everyone at Mod Mansions was absolutely WONDERFUL! We were a large family group (12 of us stayed at Las Palmas Vistas), all from Canada, who had come to celebrate Dad's 90th birthday. Once David knew what we were planning, not only did he find a more suitable house for us (at the same price) than the one we had booked, but he provided recommendations for caterers, baby equipment rentals, etc. My parents were able to look at both properties before we all arrived, and they agreed that the new house would suit us better. Both houses are beautiful, but for what we wanted, Las Palmas Vistas was the perfect spot for our large and varied group. Thank you David for being so intuitive and accommodating! Whenever we had a question or concern, someone was there in just a few minutes to look after us. When we went through the house the first time, David counted the wine and champagne glasses, noticed we would be short a few, and they were there for when we arrived. We didn't need to ask. It really felt that every possible detail was looked after. My husband and I travel a lot with larger groups (though few of this size!), and we have never had quite this level of service. Rented "the White House" for a weekend in Palm Springs, the house was great! Has a nice pool/hot tub to use and a neat bar area. Functional kitchen and 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, worked great for our group of 9! Next time we come to town we will work with David and Jim for sure!

My family and friends and I stayed at the Cuckoo's Nest for my low key birthday celebration. The house has a great layout, and all the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is very well appointed and a natural gathering spot in the home. Best of all are the grounds which are simply spectacular! Overall this was a fabulous home!

We stayed in an amazing house for a week. Every inch of the house was beautiful, and the pool was warm as could be. Pretty much everything we needed was there, and the whole process was really easy

Our family of 13 (aged 6-79 yrs) spent a wonderful Christmas week in Palm Springs, at Songwriter's Sanctuary rented through Mod Mansions. We have rented this house before and really like it. Apart from wonderful weather, what really made this such a good holiday is the hands on approach of Mod Mansions, especially their rep, David Monaghan with his delightful Galway accent! We were missing a few kitchen items and within a few hours he had bought everything we needed and brought it all to the house. The house itself is so comfortable, fireplace was used every evening, great kitchen (we like to cook!), the morning view from the pool area of the beautiful mountains is superb - we hiked, biked, walked, took a biplane ride, had wonderful meals together and swanned around the heated hot tub and pool - so happy to be away from our frigid Canadian winter.

We loved our rental house from ModMansions in Palm Springs. We celebrated my husbands birthday with 4 couples and a baby. It was perfect. The casitas was great for our son and Daughter in law and baby, where they could have quiet time for him. The place was so well stocked with essentials- amazing. It was clean and wonderfully furnished with a large dining table for 10, TVs in every room, plenty of patio furniture around the pool. The color scheme was bright and cheerful. The location was close to everything. The beds were very comfortable, every room had its own bathroom. We could of not have asked for more and will definitely rent from ModMansions again. David, who met us at the property and Laurie, who answered some questions were great!

14 of us stayed recently at the Cuckoo's nest house. We had a great experience with everyone at ModMansions before, during and after our stay. They were extremely nice and accommodating. We got a tour when we arrived and everything was explained to us. The place was fantastic with tons of room for all of us to hang out comfortably and not feel crowded at all and several great areas inside and out where people can hang out. Hide and seek was a fun game to play because the place is so big. The kitchen and bar was very well equipped with anything you needed. The place is just as nice if not nicer than the photos. We loved the pool and the waterfall was a great sound maker that made us feel comfortable hanging out outside in and out of the pool without worrying about disturbing the neighbors. We had a few small issues during our stay and Mod Mansions were always just a phone call away and were there within minutes to address the issues and resolve them. They were fantastic in that respect. We received our damage deposit back within a couple weeks of returning. I can't say enough good things about the place and about ModMansions.

We spend 4days in palm spring in one of their vacation rental house.first of all I have to let you know that the owner Jim and his manger Kenny are very classy, nice and professional gentlemen, the house was nice ,clean,decorated to perfection.the nightly rate was very fair and their respond time to my request was very fast and very professional.I am keeping their information for my future trips and I will recommend them to all my friend and family.members

Just spent a week with our extended family at the Vereda Norte house, and it was amazing! Great location, HUGE house with room for everyone, fully loaded house! David the "Property Ambassador" was great! He was always available as needed and attentive to all our needs. Bedrooms were very big as were the bathrooms. All in all a great experience!

My family stayed at 1414 The White House and it was the perfect vacation rental. The house is immaculate, the pool was big and heated. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any and all meals. The house is close to a park and supermarket but on a quiet street an easy drive to shops. We were met by the property manager, who is friendly and detail oriented:) He told us everything we needed to know. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at Las Palmas Vistas with a group of friends in October. Everything was perfect from the initial rental process with Laurie to meeting David upon arrival. The house is beautiful, as is the neighborhood. David was extremely responsive to any questions needs we had. The only bummer is the city of Palm Springs noise ordinance. The pool area is beautiful but would have been nice to be able to have some music playing. This is a citywide ordinance and is in no way a reflection of the quality of service and real estate services provided by modmansions!

I cant recommend ModMansions enough if you and your group are looking for a luxury stay in Palm Springs. The staff is accommodating, the place we stayed in in Las Palmas Vistas (2 years in a row) was amazingly updated and serene. James and his staff really know how to treat their guests! Communications before, during and after were timely and responsive! Can't thank them enough for giving our large group a wonderful place to stay in PS. Will be booking again for our trip next year and beyond!

I rented this house to share with my family for my 70th birthday. We were all VERY happy with the rental. There were 11 of us - 4 couples, two teen-agers and me. The layout gave us all room to ourselves and great space to share. The kitchen was well equipped and worked well as each of the couples planned and cooked one meal. The pool was beautiful and terrific for hanging out around. The house was beautifully furnished, well equipped, well maintained and clean. David, the manager, was there in a minute if we asked him about anything, and he was very fun to work with, very willing to help in any way he could. The only difficulty with the property is the linear driveway so that if we wanted to move one car, all had to move. But it was terrific to be within easy walking distance of downtown Palm Spring so we didn't have to drive that much! Before we arrived, David provided us with an excellent list of recommended restaurants and activities. It was a totally excellent rental. I would recommend it 100%.

Our large group of six families rented the Cuckoo's Nest property over MLK weekend. The house is lovely; cozy and comfortable while still being spacious and well appointed. It's a nice mix of warm and stylish but not intimidatingly glossy, which would have made us nervous with lots of toddlers running around! It is in a great area walkable to interesting shops and restaurants and galleries, and also has lots of gated parking. It's also walkable to the park, which is awesome for families. We had a couple of glitches (fridge and pool heat issues) and David was super responsive during our stay, and we were really, really pleased with the great client service we received from Jim to follow up. Laurie was also really responsive and helpful with booking. The whole experience was super professional and positive. We plan to visit Palm Springs again just to stay at one of the ModMansions homes and highly recommend!
