On our ring road adventure last week we decided to take a detour to rest at this spot. We were not disappointed. Friendly staff. Perfectly great accommodation. We were self sufficient with power and food so we only used WC (bathroom) and sleeping. However the unique cooking facilities would have been fun in my opinion! The shower spaces and toilets were clean and plentiful. The goats are friendly and surprisingly soft! The reindeer and bunnies are a little more elusive. A camp dog (black lab) greeted us and we were happy to share a moment relaxing with him. Too bad we already had food to use in our camper van because the breakfast buffet smelled amazing ! Nice little community. A fun respite. And pretty good sunset the night we stayed.

I stayed 2 nights at Fjalladyrð - one night in the guesthouse and one night in the camping cabin. Service is great - check in available until midnight in the summer. Location is great for heading into or out of the Highlands. The dogs and reindeer around the property were cute. There were also rabbits under the guesthouse patio! The guesthouse is well appointed. Our room was comfortable and the kitchen was a nice size and very clean. There was a coffee maker to make filter coffee. We had breakfast which was good - English breakfast items along with continental fare - including fresh bread. The camping cabin was a nice set up - not far from the bathrooms. I wish the heater gave off a bit more heat - but it was adequate to keep us from freezing. The only catch - some tent campers set up in the parking area for the cabins. 😅 I booked directly with their website and all went smooth. I hope to visit again.

We spend a night here in this campaign here with our vehicle and had a great experience overall. The location is stunning — truly one of the most remote and beautiful spots in Iceland. We were able to park our vehicle onsite and paid for access to electricity, which was reliable and fairly priced. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Perfect spot for anyone traveling or working on the road. Highly recommend stopping here whether you're exploring

This was my favorite place we stayed in Iceland, which is saying a lot considering the other wonderful properties we visited. This is like a tiny village set far back in the country. As we drove in, a herd of long horned goats were trotting down the road, and Tova the Fjalladyrd reindeer came to greet us when we pulled in. The lovely sod buildings and church added to the charm. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. They offer several traditional Icelandic recipes on the menu, such as Moss Soup, farm raised lamb, reindeer, and cod. I don't know that I would want to eat Moss Soup everyday, but it was a great experience to try it. Breakfast was very good the next morning. Our family group of five stayed in the large cabin. We were very comfortable. The only thing that would have made our stay even better is if there was a bathroom on the 2nd floor where most of the bedrooms were located. But we so enjoyed our stay that we considered that a mild inconvenience to walk downstairs for the restroom. Absolutely lovely setting, friendly service, lovely historic buildings all made this a wonderful, memorable stay!

Iceland’s highest inhabited farm 🩷 — truly a unique place to visit! The staff are very friendly and helpful. We met Tobi the reindeer, saw the fluffy rabbits, and even spotted a beautiful arctic fox. Such a memorable and charming stop!

Do not miss this gem! It’s only about 4 miles off of the main road and well worth the extra drive. Everyone is so nice and the farm is charming. There is a family of arctic foxes that live on the farm, as well as a hilarious reindeer. The setting for camping is beautiful. The kitchen, and such are “ok” but we didn’t need them. Would much rather stay here than a big campground with more robust facilities. Also make sure to purchase one of their “homemade donuts”. Incredible!

It's an active farm with accomodation in different buildings, a hotel, a hostel, huts and a camping ground. It also has a cozy restaurant and bar. The place is not far off the ring road and definitely worth a visit. You can also reach it via road 901, a gavel piste suitable for cars, which will take you through spectacular desertic landscapes.

Really nice place where you can have a coffee and a pastry. The calmness is incredible and if you’re lucky, you can even see an arctic fox here!! We just made a pit-stop, but I would love to stay here for a night or two
