Nestled in a charming 18th-century stone mansion on the High Street, this upscale hotel boasts spacious rooms, a refined restaurant, and a cozy lounge.
Called later this evening for some food. Didn't book but they managed to accommodate us. The food was excellent. Absolutely beautiful. Good portion size, freshly cooked and nice flavours. Service was very good and staff very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit here.

Had lunch today. Fabulous!!! Service, surrounds and food was absolutely FAB. We will definitely be back. Very varied menu. Choice of full meals or light bites. Great value for money. Staff were lovely. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Well worth a visit.

Very nice interior/atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. Good food. Very relaxing and comfortable. Some suggestions: lighting the log fires would be a nice touch and a more fitting/original range of rustic/traditional puddings eg rhubarb and/or apple crumble, cheesecake rather than pretty standard choices like vanilla ice cream and sticky toffee pudding etc. That said, this place is lovely and an asset to Moffat. Will definitely come back.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch in a great atmosphere. The facilities are well maintained and cosy. Even located in the main street, the restaurant uopens up a view to the fields. The service is fast and very customer-friendly. The food is lovely in sufficient portions. |This place invites to stay the whole day and relax

We had a lovely meal in the Moffat Hotel, the service was excellent as was the food. Value for money as well. It looks a really expensive place when you walk in but prices. were really reasonable. There was no rushing us we had a lovely relaxing evening.

Stunning and impressive architecture, interior decoration and garden view (from the back of the hotel). Stopped off for lunch which was fairly priced. Staff were professional and attentive. Salmon bagel was good, although I’ve had better elsewhere. More than happy to return for dinner sometime soon hopefully.

This is an upscale Hotel/Restaurant/Pub (yes, each are separate) with a very down home feel. The service is stellar, the view from the Tea library is phenomenal. Felt the stress ooze out of my bones. What a beautiful Motif! Someone really spent some time in the design of this incredible place.

Yelp
We stayed here for one night as it was dog friendly. The room was an ok size. It was just a bit run down. Think it needs some TLC. The bathroom was also ok.
The building outside is really impressive but the inside does not match that. This is also a Best Western which is not obvious from the name.
The staff are really friendly. I asked for 2 plates and some cutlery as we had brought back a takeaway. Some place can be weird about this but they were very obliging.
Would recommend for a night or 2.

Yelp
The Moffat House Hotel certainly looks very grand from outside, but on the inside it is pretty dated. Although we stayed pretty cheap (around £50 a night including a dog on a Saturday) I would have paid a little more to have wallpaper that wasn't falling off the roof and being able to hear everything going on in the bathroom next to my bed... (not my bathroom!).
However the staff were really nice and doggy friendly too and it is well located within a 3-4 minute walk of pretty much every pub in Moffat. A lovely town to visit.
