I don’t think it’s essential - You dont really miss out on a lot if you give this a miss but it’s a clean, large space with significance (minus the pigeons). It’s the centre of everything important from banks to courts and adds in a good filler to your city sightseeing adventures

Nice square in the middle of the city next to the Ministry of Justice building. Frequented by locals and tourists alike. Lots of pigeons here. It is close to other places of interest.

Such a nice square in the middle of the city of Casablanca. Few minutes walk from the hotel. Had a short visit. Nice fountain in the middle. Many officials buildings around like Morocco Post, The Court and others. Enjoy feeding the pigeons or sit and watch people playing with their kids. Don’t forget to take a picture with I Love Casablanca.

Such an experience if you don't mind a whole load of pigeons. You can even feed them for 1MAD per bag of grains and have pictures taken that cost 20MAD per picture. No ticket needed, free to enter.
