A beautiful and symbolic heart of Casablanca. Mohammed V Square is surrounded by elegant buildings showcasing French colonial and Moorish architecture, giving the area a grand yet calm atmosphere. The white façades, arches, and palm-lined spaces feel especially striking under the Moroccan sun. It’s a great place to pause and observe daily city life—locals walking by, pigeons gathering, and the contrast between historic architecture and modern Casablanca unfolding around you. In the evening, the lights add a softer, more romantic mood, making it ideal for a slow stroll and photos. Not a place to rush through, but perfect for appreciating Casablanca’s history, urban rhythm, and architectural beauty. A quiet classic worth visiting while exploring the city center.

A beautiful and lively landmark in the heart of Casablanca Mohammed V Square is one of the most iconic places in Casablanca. Surrounded by impressive buildings with elegant Moorish and Art Deco architecture, the square reflects the city’s rich history and modern energy at the same time. The open space, fountains, and palm trees create a pleasant atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing walk or taking photos. It’s especially beautiful in the evening when the lights bring the square to life and locals gather to enjoy the surroundings. Located near important institutions and close to the old medina, Mohammed V Square is a must-visit spot to feel the true spirit of Casablanca. A great place to experience daily life, culture, and architecture all in one.

A beautiful square and a beautiful fountain. A nice place to see. Unfortunately, there are a lot of pigeons, which spoil and pollute the place a bit...

In the heart of Casablanca this place feels alive, it feels like this place wants to tell you stories about all what she saw. I live 10 minutes away and every time I pass by I enjoy it like the first time. However people need to be careful about throwing trash everywhere and keep the place clean 🙏

Our next stop was at the French Administrative Quarter where you can find the Palace of Justice, French Consulate and the new location of the fountain because of the need to find space for the opera house across the road (built by Zaha Hadid). This fountain is also what attracts the pigeons over which is why this place is also known locally as the “Pigeon’s Square”...
