I recently visited Mohana Bistro and had a mixed experience. We tried the vegetarian meal, and the veg chicken was absolutely superb – definitely a 5/5 for that dish. I also ordered the cheese naan, but the cheese was barely there, making it hard to distinguish from plain naan – I’d rate it 2/5. The paneer butter masala was a bit on the sweeter side, so I’ll give it a 3/5.
The snacks, karipap and kara bondah, were quite enjoyable, especially with the sambar and chutney. A big shoutout to the staff (an anna, not sure of his name) who went out of his way to bring us the sambar and chutney at our table at the back. His effort truly stood out, and I’d give him a well-deserved 5/5.
The bru coffee was nice as well, but I’d recommend asking for less sugar if you’re not into sweet drinks – I’d rate it 4/5. However, the pricing was a letdown, especially for the paneer butter masala, which felt overpriced for the portion size. I’d give the pricing 2/5.
The atmosphere was another downside – it was very crowded, cramped, and hard to get a table since I went on a Sunday evening. We also had to wait quite a while for the waiter to take our order.
Overall, the food and service had their highlights, but the pricing and atmosphere pulled the experience down. I’d give it a 3/5 overall.
