We had a lovely time at Mohan's Binsar Retreat. It is right on the highway, but it is peaceful and calm inside. Built with love, care and high quality materials, it is indeed a luxurious stay for visitors. The place has an old world charm with modern amenities. It also has a huge variety of flora - it is bursting with flowering trees and plants. What is special about it though is the hospitality. The staff make you feel like royalty, asking after you and serving you delightful food with so much gentle insistence as though you are a guest in their own home. The entire team of Ankit, Pooran, Bhuvinder and Rohit made our stay memorable. Definitely the place to stay if you are going to Binsar, or Almora or Jageshwar or Kasar Devi. There are great trails around as well, and the Binsar bird sanctuary is next doors. Plan for 3-4 days to truly relax and enjoy.

The resort is a wonderful property with stunning valley views—perfect for unwinding with a cup of coffee and a good book. The staff is warm and attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay. The food is delightful, offering a mix of local delicacies, North Indian favorites, and Continental dishes. The spacious, independent rooms are thoughtfully spread across different levels, adding to the charm. Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing and memorable stay.

This café was an absolute gem! The interior was nothing short of magical—so beautifully aesthetic and thoughtfully designed. The combination of natural textures, earthy tones, and a generous spread of lush green plants made the space incredibly calming. It felt like a breath of fresh air, not just for the eyes, but for the soul too. We ordered pizza and it was perfect—crispy base, delicious toppings, and just the right amount of cheese. Everything about this place invited you to slow down, savor the moment, and simply enjoy. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful, nature-inspired setting.

In my opinion Mohans retreat experience should be decided in two: The stay (Padam premium) We had requested for the most premium room with most privacy. What we got was their most premium room (not the cheapest) which is also closest to the road. Zero privacy. Sitting on the balcony which has a great view of the Kumaon hills and also the main road. Every car honk every car dipper is a part of your stay experience. Our first night experience was not good. As the rooms are mainly made of wood, we could hear all the movement from the room above. There is the washroom for the cafe right behind our bed and from 5.30am you can hear the sounds of flushes and water running in the pipes. You can also hear the water and other sounds from room above not to mention the light and sound from the road, and oh yes the hammering from the construction right next door. Forget about sleeping well on your holiday. On the first night itself we decided that we will cut short our stay here. After giving this feedback the management did make our second night more tolerable. The cafe: Excellent food, beautiful ambience, wonderful staff who served us food like we were dining at home. 10/10. Buffet layout was great, plenty of choice. Local cuisine combined with Chinese/continental etc. Everything was mouth watering. The service was so warm and caring. They literally fed us saying ‘ek roti aur lelo’ , ‘thori si sabzi aur leke auo’ In my opinion come to Mohans for the cafe and skip the stay. You can surely find a better stay which will also be more affordable.

Our stay at Mohan’s Binsar Retreat was truly memorable. The location is stunning, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. The ambience is warm and welcoming, the rooms are spotlessly clean, and the food was delicious throughout our stay. A special mention to the staff who made our experience even better — Ankit at the reception was extremely helpful and courteous, Rohit ensured prompt and attentive room service, and Bhoopendra in the kitchen served every meal with a smile and personal touch. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-managed getaway in the hills!

Pros:|Its on road|Rooms are neat and clean with all required amenities |Nice cafe and seating|The hospitality at the restaurant is very warm|Cons:|Its not Binsar but on binsar road|The bird sanctuary gate is about 7km from here.|Not suitable for people who have issues with climbing stairs as its on multiple levels|Construction site just adjacent to the property with constant noise of stone cutting and drills( which they stopped immediately on complaining)|Its a decent property if you want to stay outside the sanctuary as there is no electricity in the sanctuary and the property there are remite snd have service issues.
