Beautiful place with such a wonderful view on Atlantic coast and so special in sunset time. Food is eatable but pretty expensive. Special thanks to kind stuff in the door, service was ok. Best regards ✨️

What a place Moinho Dom Quixote!!!! Tucked away at the corner of the hill, Moinho Dom Quixote is a delightful gem that’s well worth the visit. Finding it feels like stumbling upon a hidden treasure, though parking can be a bit of a challenge—arrive early to snag a spot, as we learned! We waited about 25-30 minutes for a table for two, but the wait was absolutely worth it. We were lucky to score a fantastic table in the sun, which set the tone for a lovely experience. The service was solid—friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The menu isn’t overly pricey, making it a great value for the quality you get. Do note that it can get quite chilly in the evening, so don’t hesitate to ask for one of their cozy blankets to keep warm. The vibe here is fantastic, with a quirky, well-organized setup that’s both charming and inviting. The tables are thoughtfully arranged, and the decor has a whimsical, unique flair that adds to the overall charm. The beautiful garden is a highlight, offering a serene backdrop to your meal. The food? Simply incredible. Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented—check out the photos for a glimpse of what we enjoyed! They also have a disabled parking space, which is a thoughtful touch, and the place is pet-friendly, so you can bring your furry friends along. Overall, Moinho Dom Quixote nails it with its combination of great food, vibrant atmosphere, and quirky charm. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!

This garden restaurant is an authentic place with fantastic ocean view, amazing atmosphere and great cuisine! We ordered leek soup and beef steak - both were awesome 👏 This place is usually very busy - you may have to wait or book in advance. Also local parking is very small, in case it’s full you may explore rad side spots down the road

Incredibly beautiful views and a wonderful atmosphere! Be prepared for a potentially long wait to get in, and parking can be tricky on certain days, especially during peak hours or weekends. However, once you’re seated, it’s absolutely worth it! The food is delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommended – a place where both the setting and the service make it truly memorable!

One of our goals while in Portugal was to watch the sunset every night, and I saw a few reviews for Moinho Dom Quixote raving about the view, and, while you aren't facing the sunset directly, the overall atmosphere and view are top notch. The service is whatever--they are running around trying to deal with a fully booked restaurant, so you need to flag them down if you want another glass of wine (good luck getting spare napkins). The food is acceptable; it's hard to mess up a burger or potatoes. But really, the star of the night, and our trip in Portugal, happened to be the surprise acoustic couple playing songs in both Portuguese and English. They put on an amazing show for many hours on end; if it's like this every Friday night, this is a must visit.

Amazing experience! This was one of the most beautiful gardens I've ever been to, and you could even eat there! The service was friendly and personal. The food was amazing and the prices were good considering the popularity of the restaurant and the locally sourced biological products they use. Tip: bring something warm for when the sun is down and keep some space for a desert. Thanks for an amazing night!

This place is just amazing really one of most beautiful places with amazing home style cooking that’s always fresh and feels like organic. The staff is the best, especially Kevin, who is always happy to go extra mile to get you exactly what you need and double checks on you to make sure the food as you expected and always with a smile on his face. Overall one of the best experiences. Don’t forget the fridge with all the homemade desserts made daily !! Love this place

A hidden gem nestled into the hills, with a commanding view of the sea. Excellent for watching the sunset over the Atlantic ocean. It is a kids friendly restaurant with wonderful service and great food. The cakes are to die for. The kids loved the play area and the dog and cat, who came to say hello. A restaurant not to be missed.

Yelp
This restaurant is a treasure. We caught a Bolt up to Moninho after a long day of exploring palaces in Sinatra and it is exactly the escape that was needed! The terrace offers wonderful ocean views. You visit for the views and great atmosphere but the food was just as good! This place is popular so I highly recommend making a reservation!

Yelp
Randomly ended up here during a drive. The golden latte was fantastic, loved the scones and the pumpkin jam. The vibes immaculate. The waitress was always around. Bonus is there were cats and dogs just roaming around. You need to come here to just admire the view with a coffee

Yelp
Our party of 3 had a lovely afternoon lunch sitting in sunshine at this lovely seaside cafe. There is ample seating on the beautifully manicured patio, and creative tables in elaborately decorated interior patios and rooms. Staff during our visit were well proficient in English and the menu is expansive enough to suite many different tastes. The food, overall, wasn't the best I've had in Portugal, but the burger, and accompanying flight of sauces, was the best I've had in my three visits to the country. My companion said the Cuban sandwich was to die for. Do not skip giving their lemonade or in-house tea a try. Perhaps if you're lucky you'll encounter the charming pets that sunbath on the patio with patrons, give them a pat for me!

Yelp
This experience will likely become my most indelible memory of Portugal. Sitting on the outdoor patio on a cliff overlooking the crashing waves of the Atlantic, you'll be treated to delicious food, especially the tapas. We elected to order five dishes, and while the pulled pork wasn't as dazzling as we'd hoped, the Brazilian cheesy bread, pork croquetes, and codfish fritters spritzed with lemon were everything we wanted them to be! The cat hanging out in the parking lot is literally the most affectionate animal in the world. I love the fact that it actually appears in the photographs of this restaurant! The food is a little above four stars, but the view gets five stars for sure!

Yelp
Great hang out. Come for the breathtaking view over the Atlantic, stay for the food and drinks. The service was a bit slow, and line long to park/get a table - so plan accordingly.

Yelp
The location is excellent and I recommend coming just for the view. Very cute tables outside. Everything we ordered was very good, but could have been less salty. But, the service can be terribly slow.

Yelp
The most romantic place I have ever been! Yes, meal is not bad and coctails are good, but what does really matter is the stunning, breathtaking location and unique atmosphere. Bar Moinho Dom Quixote is situated on the top of mountain looking over the ocean. From every point of it we can see slops covered with tropical greenery going down to the ocean far below. This place is really ideal for romantic events even so it is often a bit crowdy. There are plenty benches to take a sit and enjoy the beauty all around having your Mochito or Caipirinha. Additional sweet detail is the cat sleeping near fireplace.

Yelp
I'll start with the postive: great location and atmosphere. That's it for the plus side. The menu was limited to items available in most casual restaurants anywhere in the US: burgers, salads, sandwiches, nachos, omelets, ice cream, etc., so no points for local cuisine. Very small terrace dining area. One side was full service and on the other side, patrons had to walk to the bar through the service area, order food and take it back to their tables. Both areas had no open tables, so I sat in a small room off the bar. The bar area was larger but very hot and noisy. Finding all this out took some doing as the wait staff was busy and not really interested in helping anyone who was not seated. There was no host or hostess. It did not take too long to get a menu or to place my order. I ordered a chicken and mushroom omelet. It came with a small salad. It took some time for the food to arrive, but since they were busy, that was reasonable. The chicken was over done and the salad was not memorable. When my waitress passed by on a rare occasion, I asked for a dessert menu. She brought it and disappeared.... Twenty minutes later I flagged another waitress down and told her my other one disappeared. She apologized and took my order and brought it to me shortly. Twenty minutes passed again after I ate my dessert. I finally went to the bar and asked for my check. It was 15.75 and they only take cash. I gave her a 20. She had no change and asked me if I had any. I only had .62. She nicely said that was "okay" so the good news is I got out of there and saved .13 and left no tip. The bad news is it wasn't worth 15.62. Too bad this place doesn't have a menu, food preparation or service staff to match its wonderful location or atmosphere. What a waste. I'd hiked 9 km in 97 F weather today and was looking forward to a good meal after I had showered and changed for dinner. This was not it.
