Mojave Cantina - South Lyon

Wow!! How have we missed this place? The food was incredible, the margaritas were delicious (the La Diabla Margarita was especially great), and the service was fantastic. If Iajia waits on you, you’re in great hands, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. There are easily 20 items on the menu I want to go back and try. The space was super clean, and overall they nailed the experience. My only suggestion would be to dim the bright white lights at the bar a bit to soften the vibe. It’s rare for me to give 5 stars on a first visit, but they absolutely earned

Mojave Cantina can’t miss! The food is always a 10/10! Every time we come to Mojave we’re met with excellent service, Catie P is attentive, helpful and so kind! Drinks were a good bang for your buck. Spacious, and good looking on the inside. Thank you Mojave Staff! Great addition to the area.

I had the most pleasurable first time experience here today! I ordered about 30$ of food that wasn't exactly to my liking, a risk you take trying something new. The staff took a notice and the manager came directly over. I could tell she was genuinely interested in any sort of feedback. She listened to what I had to say and suggested something she thought I would like and asked if she could bring it out for me to try. She brought two whole meals out at no extra charge, and simply went above and beyond to make the customer happy. That seems to be so lost in most places now a days and it was like a breath of fresh air. Her dedication to running a great place of work really shined through! Not to mention I absolutely loved the second dish [Birria tacos] it was so amazing!!!! I will definitely be ordering it again! I would recommend this place 100x the staff, food and atmosphere were superb! 👏🏻

Chloe was fantastic. Quick, knowledgeable, friendly. The food was great. Very large portions Reasonably priced. First time here and will return.

This review is sadly being posted while I sit on my couch at home over an hour from this establishment eating our reheated dinner. My fiancé and I were visiting family while in town and they RAVED about how awesome this place is- so of course we had to try it ourselves. The restaurant is a quaint establishment with a bar catering to dine in and carry out it appeared. We were greeted by the host and told to choose our seat. Service continued to go well, chips and salsa as well as the atmosphere were enjoyable. That was until a few moments after our food was delivered we realized our waitress, Kristen, (whom used to date my fiancé over ten years ago) was taking photos of him/us at our table. This is where the line was drawn. We were able to over look the chatter and stares of staff with being able to over hear her say, “that’s him there”- but the photos took it to far. No scene was made in the moment. We discussed our feelings and decided we would simply ask her to remove the photos from her phone the next time she visited our table to offer help. When confronted, she loudly exclaimed “do I even know you” as she walked away, promptly then sending the manager to our table. The manager on duty listened to the situation apologized and offered to go boxes for us to enjoy our meal at home. Never had I felt so violated while simply trying to enjoy a meal at an establishment that had been suggested by many. Food and atmosphere are wonderful AGAIN, I can’t stress this enough. The fact that staff are unable to act professional in their place of employment and can violate the privacy of the customers of said business is very disheartening and will be the cause of us not returning or suggesting the establishment any further.

I visited this place after seeing great reviews. It had a cozy vibe and the staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the expectations. I ordered the fish tacos, and they were disappointing—too sweet and barely any onion or cilantros on as you can see in the pictures. The fajitas were okay, but overall the food was bland and not very exciting. The outdoor seating was nice, and the service was good, but the food just didn’t impress me.

Recently went back to Mojave Cantina for another try as the first visit when they opened wasn’t that great. This time the food was much better and the drinks were excellent. Our server was attentive and made great recommendations regarding our preferences. She did a great job and the patio was clean and made for a nice time in the sunshine. Glad I gave them a second try and will be back again in the future because they are now dialed in 100%.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I over eat every time because I can’t put the food down. The drinks are phenomenal and the food will leave you in awe. I can’t put it into words to be honest so just come see for yourself, the waitress Catie will take GREAT care of you.
