In-Depth Review of The Bungalows by Homestead Modern in Joshua Tree, CA - AFAR
"Conservation land adjacent to the retreat that provides contiguous Joshua tree–dotted scenery and natural walking areas, effectively extending the on-site landscape into protected desert habitat." - Mae Hamilton
Don't let the uneducated people at the front window steer you away from this place. They have a lot going on that worth checking out!

The demonstration garden was helpful to highlight local & native plants for my Yucca Valley garden...among other important work they do. Happy Earth Day and many more to MDLT!! 🌎

We were at a well-attended star party the MDLT organized at Amboy Crater, a place free from light pollution. It was very well-organized and very informative. The dark night sky is one of the vanishing desert treasures to be explored and understood. Public outreach and educations like this should be supported and rewarded. We bought a tee-shirt and pressed desert flower to show support for these timely & enthusiastic environmentalists and left a cash donation as well. We'll be back for another event!

Went to a good friends memorial service here. Beautiful structure, warm accepting atmosphere, a little cold at night during the winter obviously so wear layers if planning a visit after sunset. As for three character of the employees/volunteers at MDLT; you'll find yourself in the company of "Good Human Beings" -D.W. (R.I.P. 2019)

Great organization doing some much needed conservation work for the desert. I support them with a membership as well as taking advantage of the great plant sale they offer.

Went to their annual desert plant sale with the hope of finding some inexpensive Palo Verde trees, or Desert Willow and I wasn't disappointed. I bought eight Palo Verde trees about eight inches tall for one dollar apiece. Most did not have leaves, but all had a very strong looking trunks so I feel they will all be plantable next year when I will begin landscaping my front yard.

I went to their plant sale for the specific purpose of finding inexpensive Palo Verde trees. Their published price list posted on their website had a couple of special priced trees and bushes at six dollars in one gallon pots. All of the rest of the one gallon pots were twelve dollars and above. I got there at the door opening. I found eight Palo Verde trees that had their leaves stripped off but very hard looking trunks in one gallon pots for one dollar each. Get there early next time, and ask the help about inexpensive/underpriced plants.

I came by the main building at 2pm and nothing was open, the outside garden is nice, but I was hoping to get information about land in the area and more about what the land trust does. Lots of cars, all doors locked.

Yelp
This group is amazing. The work that they have done protecting our open space deserts in such a short time is exciting.
The Director and the staff shine and love what they do.
I went to a fundraiser for them at a Modern high desert home and the food was spectacular by Chef Ryan Langsdorf.
Lots of good around this org!
