really cute cafe ! from the outside it looks small but inside it’s two stories. you get a number and go to your seat while you order either via qr code or go up to the counter. food was very tasty. highly recommend it especially getting a brownie to go!!

PROs: Friendly service. Indoor (down & upstairs) and outdoor seatings. Food was fine. Coffee was great. Regulars were greeted by their names. Many dietary options to choose from. Baked goods for sale on tables. CONs: Off street parking only. Kitchen ambience rather than a cafe feel. French toast breakfast should come with at least one side. We ordered a Traditional breakfast with vegan sausage & Stuffed french toast (tasty) along with latte and decaf breve. Pay in cash to avoid paying their credit card fee.

My latte was good, no problem there. I've never eaten the food, and I doubt I will again. I had the breakfast burrito, which wasn't a burrito at all,but a raw tortilla folded very lazily over the rest of the ingredients. Hard to eat, bland, really, really not worth over ten bucks. The potatoes were also incredibly bland and tasted very bitter. Perhaps I got unlucky, but whoever made this burrito has never seen a burrito before.

Went here for the first time to meet a friend. There's a beautiful second floor with ample seating. I met the owners, who were incredibly sweet and friendly. I love the vibe of this place, and the strawberry lemonade is amazing!

Google
Love it! Food, coffee and even the people are great. Staff is usually welcoming. The French dip sandwich is my go-to. Just discovered they have brunch on weekend. Great price for what you get! Very inclusive menu and buffet options. The tip jar choice thing always gets a chuckle out of me. One of those free things that goes a long way and gives the place a more personable and like able feel. Great place to study too. Patio and people watching are great on a summer day. but the smoking can really add up if you’re not a smoker. It gives me a headache so I can’t stay outside too long some days but there’s more seating inside. Of course the location great and the park is a lovely backdrop.

This is one of the coffee shops that's close to Tower Grove Park. I've only been here once, and I ordered a delicious coffee. Their gooey butter cake was divine! The vibe is chill, and it's like a community staple around the area. I highly recommend this coffee shop! Worth your visit :)

I was in the neighborhood today and decided to stop in for lunch for the first time in years. The Blue Mac is still one of the best veggie burgers in the city, and my Mini Mo iced latte was perfect. I hope to be back soon for brunch.

Google
Best coffee I had while visiting STL. They were able to make the Mini Mo vegan for me, and it was delicious. The seating outside was beautiful, right across the park.

Yelp
great breakfast burritos and great lattes! It is a casual environment in a perfect location close to the park. Service was a little slow, but they were quite busy so im sure it was an anomaly. Everyone was very friendly when i went. Great place to discover and looking forward to going back!

Yelp
TLDR: table limit of 45 minutes that you are not informed of until after ordering My coffee was good and the vegan breakfast burrito was fairly flavorful. This being said, my 3 star rating is because of their Sunday policy. I used to go to mokabe's in college regularly for working on projects and studying. I went there today to get breakfast and work on a project. Upon my coffee being brought to me, I was told there was a 45 minute limit on tables today since it is Sunday. I understand needing tables to be turned over, but I did not hear anyone else get this warning. There also were several people who were there before me that were there when I left, but staff told me that if they got too busy I would be asked to leave. The staff said it as kindly as possible, but I would have not ordered in the first place had this policy been published or posted by the register. I just did not have the most welcoming experience today.

Yelp
Lovely service and good drip coffee. My main issue is the smell of sewage and how icy cold it was inside. I always want to support local businesses, especially queer-friendly spaces, but this should be addressed.

Yelp
Stopped in at MokaBe's this morning to grab a coffee since it's been on my coffee list! Conveniently located off S Grand, easy to pop in & out & the parking was free today! Can't beat that. There's plenty of parking on both sides which was nice. Walking in is a clean atmosphere. There's seating inside & outside. I noticed they have dog bowls inside for your furry friends who want to join also treats inside for them too! How sweet. Stop of at the front to order! I got an iced latte this morning & it came out super fast. The only thing I have was my coffee did taste a little burnt. Which happens! I'd come back to try their food!

Yelp
First time trying this place out. Was finding a different coffee spot for a friend from stl and I to try. She suggested MoKaBe's. This place didn't disappoint. It's got a historic feel to it. The menu is accessible via a QR code. They can bring you water or they have a self serve station upon entrance. The pricing is reasonable and the food was good. They do have vegan options. I had their breakfast sandwich in wheat toast, hard egg with sausage. A side of potatoes. Perfect paring, with their Kelly's kicker asser latte. She had a vegan sandwich with a latte which both of our drinks were under their specialties. There is no private parking. Only street. Even on a Sunday it's busy parking. I had to park across the way near Qdoba. Service wasn't too bad, they bring water if accessible and are just attentive enough to bring out food and check in on you as necessary. I liked the overall experience and I'd come back again. Sundays they are only open till 3 so keep that in mind. We enjoyed our meals and lattes. Thanks MoKaBe's.

Yelp
Came for food this time and my burger was tasty. Still an overly grungy place. Not my cup of tea.

Yelp
What drew me to this coffee house was the wide variety of morning drinks it had to offer. From Americanos to lattes, they had traditional and new flavors to try. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable and offered seating inside and outdoors. It's located off a busy intersection but nonetheless a great location to catch up with a friend or get some work done. I enjoyed the drinks the most and MO's Monkey was delicious. I couldn't leave without taking one to go!

Yelp
Met with a group of friends to discuss a book we just read. This is my first time at this establishment. Ordered the Portobello Sandwich which comes with chips and made it vegan. It didn't occur to me that meant no substitution for cheese (they just left it off). The sandwich was tasty and the bun was excellent. But, the chips were just cheap wavy potato chips out of a bag. I saw on the menu I could have ordered "oven fries" for an up charge. The seating area is roomy with a loft area. It just seemed unkept. Kitchen freezer in the dining area that kitchen help kept going to. This place is okay. I just feel there are many vegan options on South Grand and they could up their game to stay in competition and get my business.

Yelp
Strong coffee alert sooooo good, fresh & strong! Guys... this is exciting. The biscuits & gravy are vegetarian yaaassssss! We never get biscuits & gravy! #stlouispescatarianapproved @stlouispescatarians on instagram The menu is a huge and awesome for vegans and vegetarians! Yelp
Great food, prompt service. You order on your phone and food/drinks are delivered. We were seated right away on a Sunday morning. Parking is on the street only and it is a little busy near Tower Grove park! There appears to be a large upstairs seating area. A lot of tables set up for larger groups. Old school diner vibe.

Yelp
I recently visited MoKaBe's for Sunday breakfast with some friends. We were lucky enough to get outdoor seating on the cozy patio. I ordered their scrumptious biscuits and gravy - the vegetarian version! I loved that they had meat substitute options. The biscuits were warm and flaky while the gravy was flavorful. I got a half-order and it was very filling. The ordering and payment was all done via QR code which I really like because it's so much less pressure and rush to order. Once the order is done, food is brought out to your table. Service was friendly and inviting which added to the overall atmosphere. I definitely recommend the outdoor seating as the inside is a bit plain and awkwardly laid out. At first, we were sat at a table under the stairwell right next to the restroom which seemed like odd placement for a table in the first place but luckily one outside opened up and they were happy to move us. I also ordered a chai tea. It tasted exactly like Oregon Chai, so I'm assuming that's what it was. I was a little disappointed that they didn't offer house-made chai because they would probably make a great one if they did.

Yelp
I used to love coming to MoKabe's all the time to hang out and study and get work done. This was years ago, as far back as over a decade ago. Since then, I've moved to several cities. But when I came back to visit St. Louis this week, I knew I had to come check this place out again! A lot of my favorite places in other areas closed down after the pandemic, so I was so happy to see MoKabe's is still here and doing great! I always enjoyed the cozy, welcoming vibe of this place, especially the upstairs area! Some things have changed since a few years ago, like the hours are more brunch-oriented (they close at 3pm now instead of staying open late), there is now a 45-minute dine-in time limit, and they have a really super convenient order-at-your-table with a QR code option. I tried the QR code option out with my toddler and it made ordering soooo much easier since I didn't have to wait in line with my little guy who would've wanted to roam everywhere lol! Some things are the same, such as the low-key, welcoming vibe and the unique feel of the upstairs area. I love how the upstairs portion of the coffeehouse is homey and dark (in a comforting way) with patches of natural light coming from the small windows facing Tower Grove Park. Everyone who worked there that we were in contact with was seriously so kind and accommodating and went above and beyond to make our time there awesome. My toddler and I had a great time! I'm so happy I got to share one of my old time favorites with my little one! As far as the food we ordered, we got the biscuits and gravy with eggs and cheese and potatoes. The biscuits and gravy was amazing, with fluffy light buttery biscuits that melt in your mouth along with the full-flavored and creamy sausage gravy. Omg so good, lol! The eggs and cheese were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were mostly good, although some pieces were less cooked than others. I also got a hot chai latte with oat milk which was super good. It's on the spicy and sweet side, so keep that in mind if you're considering purchasing it! It was fun to see how an old favorite of mine has evolved over time but still holds onto the essence that makes it unique and that people have always appreciated about it!

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoy visiting this place for its excellent sandwiches and salads. Everything is crafted with care, and if you opt for a salad, the dressing seems like it could be homemade (though I'm not entirely certain). Whenever I'm in the area during lunchtime, Mokabes is my go-to spot. The atmosphere is consistently delightful, and the diverse signs and interesting messages people leave there align with my taste. A visit to Mokabes offers more than just a meal; it's an experience. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Yelp
Loved trying this coffee shop the other day! They were so kind and gave my dog a nice treat. We tried the iced coffee here which was very good and I liked the unique flavors. Will definitely have to go back and try more.

Yelp
Love this place. Good hot and cold brews, awesome sandwiches, perfect place to hang out and write your thesis or just enjoy the ambiance. Mo is also a saint, she is a staple in the LGBTQ community and MoKaBe's frequently is a spot people frequent after pride fest. Also they have a GREAT brunch on Sundays! Cheers!

Yelp
This is my favorite Coffeehouse in Saint Louis! The coffee is amazing and the food, full of vegan, vegetarian, and meaty dishes is always delicious, especially the sandwiches and the breakfast options. On the weekends they have brunch and make some of the best vanilla pancakes with maple syrup that I've ever tasted! They are family owned, and staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The patio is dog friendly and covered, and faces Tower Grove Park and Grand Avenue, literally the cornerstone of the neighborhood with a really great history!

Yelp
A few of us had a random thought to get coffee in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. We chose Mokabe's because some of us had never been there and those of us who had strongly encouraged the decision. Family is everything, and Mokabe's staff is not only family within itself but they also treat customers with the same kindness. We were so thankful for the gorgeous day on the patio while sipping our cold brews, iced mochas and lattes. Since some of us were returning customers, I will say that none of us have ever eaten anything from Mokabe's that we did not like. Everything is served deliciously fresh!!! THANK YOU MOKABE'S!!!! Yelp
This was a great little place for o our morning caffeine fix. The servers behind the counter did not laugh at me when I ordered a "Becky's Bitchin' Brew" as a shake. They instead nodded knowingly. A welcoming place that gets my vote for coffee!

Yelp
I love coming here to study, and it seems like they have ironed out some of the kinks that made dining difficult during the pandemic! There are no longer any signs that say customers can only stay at a table for 30 minutes. Indoor seating is also open now, though they do require that you wear a mask. They also request that only vaccinated patrons come in, though they say this is on the "honor system" and won't ask for proof of vaccination. In terms of ordering, it can be a little tricky if you come with friends and want to split the bill. The menu is accessible through gq code and you order online. Only one person per table can order, but it looks like there is a function to split the bill. I have not tried it, so can't confirm that it works. It's a pain to enter your full credit card info and I imagine it would be annoying to have multiple people have to enter their info as well. In terms of food, my favorites are the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and fries. The breakfast burritos and french toast that are available for Sunday brunch are also great and pretty inexpensive. Looking forward to coming back a lot as the weather warms up!

Yelp
I rarely ever review places, but this place convinced me to redownload Yelp and write a review. I've been stopping by MoKaBe's a few times in the last few weeks, and every time I'm met with awesome people with kick-ass Americanos and a warm setting that just draws you into Saint Louis culture. It's the best place to go for coffee, espresso, or food, because never have I ever had an experience where both coffee and food complimented each other in a way that was impressionable.

Marie J.

Yelp
Such a cute little place. Coffee was super good with a bunch of unique options and the breakfast sandwiches were enjoyable. We were in a rush to grab a bite before headed off to an event but all the staff were super nice and accommodating! Will definitely have to come back!

Yelp
Not just a coffee shop, a family ran center of ideals for humanity. Yes, they have their own way of doing things. No, they aren't built to serve 1000 customers a day. Yes, Mo will ask you to give up your table after 45 mins to an hour on the weekend if you are just buying a coffee (so more people can actually sit and enjoy a meal with their friends or family). The food is at a very high standard, everything must be fresh. The kitchen is extremely, extremely clean. The health inspector prefers to eat here - that says a lot. The prices are reasonable, they try their best to be affordable so the everyman (and woman) can enjoy the Chauvin espresso lattes and fresh fruit and veggies. May not seem so be yesterday's standards, but today to keep a business open prices did have to be raised. And I haven't even touched on the fridge behind the bar. It was front and center with Mo, the owner, when the Riverfront Times did a story on the coffeeshop a month ago. For 30 years it has been a center of activism, a place where all walks of life are welcome (except bigots). Lobbyists meet here to discuss disability advocacy, sober people practice the 12 steps together, hungover patrons score their coffee fix, and every misfit in the world is welcome. You'll see Dungeons n Dragons cosplay, homeless advocacy groups, cyclists and skateboarders and chess matches and all the people in high school who weren't with the "cool kids". Although they are welcome too of course. I could go on, you'll see people practicing for the BAR exam, people in wheelchairs easily accommodated, pride fest organizers, a few smokers on the patio sometimes even I'm the winter. Everyone is welcome, the food is fresh, it's affordable for the quality, and they do their very best to minimize their impact on the environment I'm sure I left out 1000 more awesome things, and this reads more like a rambling rant, but it wasn't teargassed by the police for sitting by and doing nothing while the world demands equality and change. So much more than a coffeeshop, the entire family that works here is changing the world. Hell, they even gave paternity leave to one of their family members, unheard of in a small restaurant. Your cashier might also be a lawyer, your barista might be a crime fighting bad ass, your cook might be qualified for retirement but still hitting the gym harder than the young guns doing it for "likes". It's a place many have spent decades growing themselves and society the best they can. The family works damn hard, is the nicest ever, and the food and drinks are amazing. It's quite a lot more than a coffeeshop. Stick around and you'll never know who you will meet. Pro tip : the veggie burgers are homemade and better than most actual burgers, especially like the black bean burgers for their huge flavor and meatiness. Haven't ate a moo burger since. Upgrade to baked fries or fresh fruit or a salad, they are all a step above other places sides. Definitely worth the 2.50

Meg S.

Yelp
This cafe is queer-owned and my partner and I felt very safe and welcomed in this space. Our server, Winnie was very helpful when I asked about other queer spaces to explore in St. Louis. We met the Mo in MoKaBe's and had a lovely conversation. The food was wonderful as well and I'd highly recommend one of their latte shakes.

Yelp
Best for breakfast options, which are very good. Coffee drinks are tasty. Lunch menu is more basic and mid. Nice space outside for better weather. Service is usually very good, but sketch once in a while. Atmosphere is welcoming and supporting.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick breakfast before hitting tower grove farmer's market and it was a great experience! The ordering system is unique but works well for the set up of the restaurant! The biscuits and gravy were some of the best I've had in a restaurant in a long time! I also really enjoyed the RiRi latte with oat milk. Overall, I highly recommend!

Yelp
I remember visiting St. Louis back in the day during college and Mokabe's is where we'd go to grab coffee while browsing in Tower Park. I recently moved to the St. Louis area and this summer I've been in a couple times a month to meet a friend for BLTs on the patio (the bacon here is BOMB and you need to get a BLT on that toasted Italian bread with extra bacon!). I realized that I have never actually sat inside so I stopped in on a recent Saturday morning before 9am. I had some work to do so I chose a small booth upstairs. I love the upstairs, so cozy and dark with twinkle lights the way I like things at home too. So I can't recall if Mokabe's had this before the pandemic, but you can skip the counter, go to your table and order from your table by scanning a QR code at your table. I love this because it's quick and easy, you can tip and from an F&B management POV it saves time on labor and makes orders come quicker for a really efficient process. I literally heard my order printing out a moment after I pressed the PAY button. It was very comfortable working there and I ordered my usual Crystal Lite iced latte (sugar free: white chocolate, caramel, skim milk). I appreciate that they have some variety when it comes to sugar free flavors. It was breakfast time so I ordered the baked diced potatoes and a side of sausage gravy. I wanted something homey and hearty for the first cool Saturday morning in October. Actually, I ordered the baked french fries by mistake and a server came up to me to clarify whether I wanted the baked fries or the baked potatoes which I appreciated, although thinking of poutine, it probably would have been good! So this combo of potatoes and hearty sausage gravy was freaking awesome. Let's face it, most sausage gravy comes from a can. I'm not sure if this is but it sure doesn't taste like it. It was so hot, thick and hearty with a lot of sausage bits. It was amazing on the baked diced potatoes, which are obviously diced in house. This combo was hearty, warm and peppery and hit the spot. So the tables inside have a 45 minute limit, indicated by the little signs. I was on a roll typing a process manual for work but kept watch on how busy it got and if the tables were filled (it was a Saturday) and I checked in with the staff periodically who were super nice and said they'd have no problem kicking me out if they see the need :) I also ordered another drink (amazing Moroccan mint iced tea) and convinced a friend to meet me there after a couple of hours who ordered lunch. I was there for over five hours in total. I work from home when I'm not traveling and I prefer to support a local spot rather than chains so I loved being able to work from here. I have to say all the great reviews are accurate and this is really a great friendly neighborhood diner. I'm going to dine in more often. I heard them saying that staffing is hard so they are keeping their hours from 8am-3pm for now, but I do remember back in the day they were open at night. The only thing I would say that could make the dine-in experience more elevated is if they used reusable cups and mugs vs the disposable cups, but they do recycle the cups so that is good.
google avatar

Zach D.

Yelp
I guess in general I was disappointed. I went on a Sunday around 11am. They were consistently busy. But the atmosphere was anything but relaxing. Outdoor dining only. Interestingly they had plexiglass between outdoor tables. You had to order from your phone on a website that was not intuitive.there was also a 30min time limit per table. I ended up just feeling rushed. All the attendents were masked (yay) but they stood at least 12 feet away from you and you could hear what they were saying unless they shouted, which was still muffled at best. When I sat down I was asked 3 times if I had ordered. No i haven't... I'm still trying to figure out your darn digital menu! If you can walk up to me asking me if I've ordered, why can't you take my order personally! After I was brought my food, I was never asked if everything was okay, at that point I was abandoned, which I guess I didn't mind as I was tired of feeling like I was being yelled at. I ordered a black coffee, bacon and vegan biscuits and gravy...I know I'm crazy, but I love bacon The biscuits and gravy were meh... a little bland. But still edible. The biscuits tasted like they came out of a can, the gravy was too thick like they added too much flour. I'm not hat mad at them. Overall: when I come here again? Yes. Would it be my first choice? No. Would be my second choice? Probably not. I

Yelp
We really enjoy coming to this restaurant. Our family has a young child and many restaurants don't open until later. MoKaBe's opens at 8am which we love and the tables aren't spaced too closely together, which gives my wiggly child room to be comfortable. They are very family friendly and the food is delicious! I always order an iced mocha (with whipped cream of course) which is always on point. It's like a grown up chocolate milk, not that I need an excuse for chocolate. I also enjoy the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Some key points: -Food = good. They also have vegan options! -Price is reasonable -Staff are wonderful! They have remembered our family and even keep up with where we like to sit. It's a family run business and you can tell! In my 2 year old's words "these people are so kind!" We have been coming here for years and will continue to.

Yelp
This place is like neighborhood coffee shop. This has a cool and comfortable atmosphere with very good coffee mocha. It has beautiful patio and indoors is also good. They have free WiFi for people who like to work from there.

Branna H.

Yelp
Amazing customer service. Cool and laidback vibe. Food was AMAZING - there is an extensive breakfast and lunch menu with so many vegetarian options! Specialty coffees are some of the best around.
google avatar

Krista C.

Yelp
Absolutely love this coffee shop. I will always go to this one whenever I have a chance. The food was delicious! Can never go wrong with the coffee or espresso's either. I would suggest getting the mad Hatter but that's just my personal preference. Everybody who is there is really nice and knowledgeable and always willing to help. I love the ease of being able to order online as well so I can just pick it up on my way going to work or the grocery store.
google avatar

Bree C.

Yelp
I came here for breakfast/lunch...it was only minutes away from my flat and I'm glad I did. The burger was delicious and so the were the fries (deliciously crisp and not over cooked) the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. It was cold outside and with Covid they aren't doing dine in, but they do allow you to sit on the patio and y'all...someone brought me a blanket! I wish I lived in STL for real because I would be a regular just off this one visit alone.
google avatar

Erin R.

Yelp
Ah, such a staple for the STL coffee scene. They have the most unique sweet flavors to upgrade your coffee. The staff is friendly and respectful.

Yelp
Hidden gem. I love this place and can't wait to come back more often! Brunch is fantastic, drinks are great and their brownies are to die for.
google avatar

Viv B.

Yelp
Thoroughly underwhelming. The service was bad. It's overpriced. It felt dirty. There was a time limit on how long we could be there? I would never go back and heavily discourage anyone from going, you will be disappointed.

Yelp
Mokabees is not just a coffee house but a south Grand institution. The interior is eclectic as the staff, and the vibe is overall welcoming. They have an extensive menu of food and drinks that range from patty melts to vegetarian fare. The coffee selection is significant as well and always makes decisions difficult. The interior is one that focuses on the inclusion of people and the betterment of society as a whole that has no tolerance for narrow mindedness. Because of this, you will see all walks of society inside taking advantage of the two-level of seating. Their open door policy means that you may end up having a great conversation with someone less fortunate than yourself or play chess against one of the regular patrons who are always open to a game. And on Sunday's they have a very popular brunch that can satisfy both carnivores and vegans alike. Of note, they do not allow homework to be done during this time as the tables are reserved only for brunch people. But any other time there is a plethora of seating available, but that does not mean that you will always have a seat. The downstairs, upstairs and patio are continually full of students, readers, and characters. This is one of st. Louis's hidden gems that continue to please.
google avatar

Erin R.

Yelp
Great local coffee shop. Love the patio and that it's next door to Tower Grove Park. I enjoyed grabbing a coffee to go and walking the park.

Yelp
What a cute eclectic coffee shop! This was my first time visiting St. Louis and I wanted some good coffee that wasn't the overrated Starbucks. Welp thanks to the Yelp community, I was driven to check out this place and I am so glad that I did. The decor is very welcoming.....I'd say its hippieish yet modern and edgy. This place is definitely not for the easily offended. The music was jumping, a bit loud but not so overbearing that you wouldn't be able to tune it out if you need to....oh and there's definitely cursing. You know how most places that accept local advertising either have a community board or some sort of display in the front of the establishment? Well, I found the community board in that bathroom! Call me weird, but I called "that" weird and loved it. Stay weird MoKaBe! Fun fact: The coffee house name is a combination of the three owners. Ok enough about the ambiance......the quality of the coffee was great. I got two latte's and I was tickled by some of the creative names they've come up with....such as "Big Al's Buttery Nipple." There is a bar area that isn't found in a lot of coffee shops and you can even open a tab! There is upstairs and downstairs seating as well as some tables outside. The guy behind the bar was super nice, cool and down to earth. I also loved that there were food options. If ever in St. Louis, I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Just your progressive local activist hub with awesome employees and one of the best patios a coffee shop in Saint Louis can offer. Complete with good ole' stickers that remind you that "Darwin loves you" and grungy (in a good way) college students firing off that paper that's due at 8 am tomorrow. In all sincerity, Mokabe's is clutch. I used to come here all the time when I first started dating my wife, because her and her buddies...this was their spot and it quickly became mine. This place is open to all and extremely inclusive. When I was in school, I liked to go upstairs for it's seclusion and vibes. You can absolutely read and get a lot done in that area. Downstairs is more for connecting and socializing. When you need a nostalgic cup of Highland Grogg instead of the latest and greatest V60 pour over, "Moke's" (as my buds call it) has your back. I also dabble with some of their peach black tea if I've met my coffee quota for the day. They have tons of delicious food options, especially if you're vegetarian or vegan. I freaking am obsessed with their buffalo chicken sandwich, which is not vegan, nor vegetarian. It has the perfect amount of kick and is hella filling. If all of this won't get you there, then their amazing Sunday Brunch Buffet probably won't either, but you'd be wrong for not giving it a try, especially on a beautiful fall morning. You should check it out because Darwin loves you.

Yelp
I started going to MoKaBe's while in grad school & have been returning ever since. It's the perfect place to study alone or with a group, do some work, or catch up with a friend. It has a downstairs that is pretty open as well as an upstairs with small tables and booths with soft lighting. Great for a late night cramming session. There is also a sizable patio in the front that overlooks Tower Grove Park with excellent people watching. I loved if I needed a break from school work, the park is literally across the street. Taking a walk in one of the prettiest parks in STL is a great way to break up tedious work. Their lattes and americanos are so very good. They offer a variety of food options as well. Overall great place for good coffee and to hang out.

Yelp
This coffee shop has a lot of personality and charm! Good selection of food items for both carnivores and vegans. My go-to coffee beverage is highlander grog. I have not had a chance to try other options yet. My big challenge is the limited parking available if it's busy. This is a challenge common to South Grand businesses; it is what it is. Food prices are a bit above some other breakfast options in the area, but not ridiculous. Overall, I like it.

Yelp
This place gets a five because, well if you go there, you'll understand. The food is amazing, their coffee/tea is stupendous, and their service is always fast and friendly. The Noms: They've got vegan options available here. Personally, I'm not even vegetarian, but I order them simply because they're delicious. On Sunday's they have buffet-style brunch with tons of food and tons of delicious and creative options. They don't go basic just because it's all you can eat. And they're drinks are not only pretty, they taste so delicious. The Staff: Their always kind and quick and we have never had to wait for long for our food and especially our drinks! The Vibes: There's tons of space, whether it's outside on the large patio, inside in the main area, the add-on, or upstairs, there's not a bad seat in the house. And it's got a great location. Right by TGP, right off of Grand, and still on the quiet street of Arsenal. I have and will go here again. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I'm new(er) to STL and I'm grateful and happy that I found MoKaBe's right away!!! Even tho I've never even been inside (due to covid) this is one of my favorite places. I'm in LOVE with their vegan breakfast burrito!! Every person I interact with there has been amazing. When I pull up for curbside pickup, they are out the door within moments, often already holding my order. Today I asked about the chocolate having dairy for a hot chocolate. John told me it did have dairy but then kindly offered to create a vegan hot cocoa for me using different ingredients. To me, this is a sign of great customer service!! Thank you MoKaBe's staff/family for taking such good care of your customers during this crazy time!!

Yelp
Came here to meet up with a local group to play some board games- there are games available to borrow on a shelf in the main dining area. Our group took over a section on the second floor. There is so much room here! We ordered some food, too. You order at the bar, get a vase with a colored flower, and seat yourself. Your food is brought out to you when ready. When we were here, there was only one person taking orders and making the drinks, so the line did get backed up for a bit. I'm sure there is normally a barista helping the cashier, but not at this time. Black bean veggie burger was great- firm and not mushy. The bun was even better than the burger! I had the "pick a pair" (choose soup/salad/sandwich) featuring the ham/cheddar sandwich and the tomato bisque soup served with French bread. Sandwich was just the right amount of gooey with the right amount of buttery-ness of the grilled bread. Soup was thinner than I was expecting, but it went wonderfully with the sandwich dipped in it and with the French bread to soak up every last drop. There is also a patio in front- can't wait to come back with my dog when the weather is nice!

Yelp
This local coffee shop is my favorite in all of St. Louis! My favorite order is a Mad Maddy's latte and their hummus and pita plate. I cozy up with a book upstairs usually, but when the weather is nice the patio is a delight!

Yelp
We went to Cuba on April and had the best cappuccino of our lives. We have been chasing that flavor since. I found Mokabee's on here and after reading a few reviews and finding a review from a person I know has discriminating tastes I decided to try it. I will say that we will go back. My husband got the cappuccino and I got a cafe au lait. Both were very good. Not Cuba but better than we have been able to find. We didn't try any of the food but I hear brunch is delicious. Go check them out.

Yelp
No dining in right now, but we ate outdoors. Orders are by phone, partitions are up between tables. They dropped off food at a nearby table so we were always 6ft apart from others. Staff was wearing masks covering nose and mouth and were vigilant about wiping down tables between customers and food drop-offs. The food and drinks were delicious! Lots of vegetarian options. It was nice to go out without worrying about putting myself at risk of COVID.
