Google
Post hike brunch after doing an extended hike past the pillboxes🤙Decided to finally check this spot out in Kailua since heard the lilikoi pancakes were good👍 Wasnt too busy on a Saturday mid morning, found paid street parking nearby (glad I had some quarters). Friendly service, was seated right away. Decided on the 2 piece Lilikoi pancakes, and ordered the Moke Nui omelette and the Homemade Corned Beef Hash. Lilikoi pancakes are worth the hype👍 and overall we were satisfied with what we ordered. Prices were on the high side but thats the price of paradise🤙 Food was more than enough to share for 2 people, we ended up bringing a decent amount left home too. 5 stars.

Google
It was great!! Early bird gets the worm though, parking is tough. The food was bomb. Shout out to Jeff for recommending the passion fruit icing that took the pancakes to the next level. Highly recommend - it's fast, it's local, and it's good.

Google
Found this place via Google Maps. Lilikoi pancakes and poppyseed muffins were great. I had the #2 breakfast and the biscuit, eggs and bacon were just right. Covered seating outdoors by the sidewalk was pleasant, although view of street and parked vehicles nothing to shout about. Metered parking on the street. (And someone was patrolling the street checking meters and writing tickets while we were at the restaurant. ) Note, nothing available for strictly vegan diets. No substitutions/ customizations on the omelets. Service was very nice and helpful, prompt.

Google
Wonderful experience here! The wait was a bit long but WORTH IT! We met the owner and he suggested we order the Lilikoi pancakes w/ the mango sauce on the side! What a great choice! We were able to try both delicious sauces with the mango being the winner and our favorite! Fluffy pancakes and one of the best meals we ate on the island! The owner was so sweet and came over to check on us which made our experience! Service was friendly too! We will be coming back soon!

Google
Come check this place out...small quaint cool place to eat breakfast. Loco mocos and hash browns and French toast to choose from. Come support local. Ordered the French toast. Omelettes looked good too.

Google
We had to come here after my 10k run and boy was I hungry for some great breakfast. We had to wait 45mins + to be sitted as we came at probably the busiest time (Also it was 4th of July). But it was worth it. I got the Lilikoi pancake which was amazing and my husband got the main breakfast plate. It was worth the wait and price. PS- Do not park at the shopping center in front of it, there's a guy who sits there to watch people who dont go to the stores and tow.

Google
Got lucky finding this place as a place to have breakfast on the way to Lanikai beach. The Liliko’i pancakes are amazing. They also had a special of Mango Liliko’i for the summer and they were great too. Loko moko was really good too. We ended up going back again at the end of our trip because we loved it so much. Parking is not ideal and you have to pay at the meter otherwise the other businesses will tow you if you park in their lot.

Very nice restaurant that had awesome food! Small, yet a busy, food was very delicious and would eat there again!

Yelp
Got lucky this morning, almost no line! The staff is super friendly and efficient. Crystal was dressed festively for the holidays and it added another level of enjoyment. Definitely made it a lovely breakfast experience, relaxing and delicious. The menu is simple, but hearty. We got the moke nui omelet and the moke nui stuffed hashbrown (the omelet ingredients inside a hashbrown instead of eggs, great idea!). It was filling and delicious. This is definitely a regular neighborhood joint to return to and try all the different choices.

Yelp
parking... like many ppl I initially parked across the street in a lil mall parking cuz was empty. got in line and read a sign that says don't park across cuz they tow. so DONT PARK ACROSS THE STREET. I moved and drove around til I found street metered parking by walgreens. got my exercise with the short few minutes walk. greeted by sweet local lady that told us wait is 5 minutes or so. we got seated promptly after. place is homey and clean. local style decoration. water was good... no junk taste. got cups of coffee- theirs is nice and strong like a medium dark roast. ono. got the cream too. their flagship is da lilikoi pancake so had to try... buggah is winnahs. fluffy pancakes and kinda like a heavy whipping cream lilikoi mixture on top. it's very light and not overly sweet... just right. presented with a spot of whipped creak and orange rind. I always gotta try corned beef hash cuz az my faves. this is a 1 patty with finely processed fresh corned beef and potato, lightly fried. served with couple eggs and choice of rice. couple taste the fresh corned beef brine in the soft patty. better den canned kine. was good. da patna had da veg fritatta and hash brown. I had a taste and thought was okay if u like dat kine. my bite had an undercooked piece of bell pepper but minah. thick hash brown with crispy outside.. soft inside. was also good.

Yelp
This is a cute local place to grab breakfast. We tried: Loco moke Loco moco Mokapu Home style breakfast- fried rice with Portuguese sausage and scrambled eggs Everything was delicious and the portion is sizable. The staff was very nice as well which is always appreciated. Mahalo! You can parking right in front or street parking.

Yelp
I love the Lilikoi cream sauce on the pancakes. Have visited twice so far and you cannot go wrong by having brunch with friends and family.

Yelp
We usually go to the kaimuki location since it's closer. We happen to be on this side of the island and craving breakfast so we stopped here. Same great food and friendly service, but I liked the island feel of the seating.

Yelp
I saw this place on social media and decided to go for breakfast before going to Lanikai beach. There was no line when I arrived around 10 or so but there was quickly a line after I was seated. They have both indoor and outdoor dining, with only a few (2?) tables outside and the majority inside. I ordered the lilikoi pancakes for breakfast and the loco moco to go for lunch. The food took a little while to come out (I had only put 45 minutes on my meter). The portion size of the pancakes was huge! I was very full after finishing it. They tasted great and would definitely recommend trying (maybe sharing a plate as well). I ate the loco moco a few hours later but it still tasted pretty good after sitting out for a while. Street parking only. It's on a pretty small street so can be hard to find but there's a few metered spots on the street itself.

Yelp
Great place for brunch Worth the wait Food -nice menu We love the lilikoi pancakes and the eggs benedict made with Kailua pork instead of Canadian bacon Coffee is very good Service -Excellent -friendly, efficient Facility -tables inside and outside Ask for the key for restrooms Location -great location In central Kailua

Once again a great breakfast place with great service and food! Moke's in Kailua is awesome- staff is helpful and friendly! Food is always fantastic - street parking only! Bring coins

Yelp
Great food and service wraps up this review. The breakfast items are freshly made to order and with care. The pancakes are light fluffy and airy, and they come with a terrific citrus'ee mascarpone whipped cream. The service was great, very friendly and super nice. Their corn beef hash w/fried rice is bomb, pancakes delicious, and their omelets were very tasty, too. Mahalo, Moke's! For the delicious meals.

Yelp
Moke's is solid but did not "wow" our tastebuds or tummy enough to want to come back. Service was really friendly. Wait was 30 minutes for 12PM on Friday. Although place was not full by the time we sat, our food did take awhile to come out. Expected a little more food for the price points. Now onto the food - Avocado Salad - 3.5/5 - Big portion. They put salad dressing on for you. Nice touch adding brussels sprouts which added a fresh taste and texture. Avocado was plentiful. Blueberry Muffin - 3.5/5 - Fresh muffin that tasted above average and was standard size. Waitress recommended to get it grilled, which we did. It gave it a crispy edge which went well with melted butter. Lilikoi Pancakes - 3/5 - Great presentation. Taste was there but felt like it lacked overall flavor. It may be because they serve 2 thick pancakes with just lilikoi cream on the top first one. It would be great if they offered more sauce on the side or just doused the whole plate with it. Loko Moco - 3/5 - Classic loco moco ingredients that wanted to be fancy. Served on a plate with the egg, patty, and rice all the same circumference - covered by the gravy. Very fresh, with the standout flavor being the grilled patty. Taste of the gravy was lacking, but served well as it fused the egg, meat, and rice altogether. For the price point, I think more rice and 2 patties would've made us happier. A local loco moco mix plate lunch would have been more filling elsewhere.

Yelp
The ribeye steak was really thin for $28! flavor was okay though. Fried rice sucked no meat just onions and carrot pieces in it no flavor and up charge for fried rice. Servers were good.
google avatar

Yelp
You know a place is solid when there are people waiting outside in line for food although seating seemed more limited indoors. Thankfully the wait time was shorter than expected and we were seated outside on a nice day. We got a side of the Portuguese Sausage, Loco Moke, and Ribeye Plate. The meat was pretty tender although depending on your taste, their gravy was a little on the saltier side... still tasted good when mixed in your rice the best part was ending our meal with the lilikoi pancakes. It's a must have!!!!!!

Elijah A.

Yelp
Nothing like an OG loco moco , the gravy was lighter than some of the others I've had throughout Hawaii it was really nice Also got the prime rib "loco moke" The banana pancakes were delicious

Yelp
This casual ambiance breakfast-lunch spot has to be on my top 5 best joints to grab a bite! Service is always friendly and quick. Be sure to get there early or wait a little because it can get busy (but it's so worth). There's not a dish here that misses! Highly recommend any of loco moco's, pancakes, or my husband's favorite: the mouth watering benedict's (crab is my fav).

Yelp
This place is very popular, we waited about 30 minutes and we were seated inside. We ordered the breakfast platters, loco moco, omelette, fried rice, and side papaya. The meals felt homemade and were pretty big portion sizes. The prices are also very reasonable. The loco moco really stood out to me -- the gravy has such a flavorful taste & compliments the rest of the ingredients. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The inside of the place gave a very "home" type of vibe. We felt very comfortable and did not feel claustrophobic even though there were lots of people. Overall, I recommend this place and I would call in to ask the wait time before going!

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of Kailua, Moke's Bread and Breakfast is an absolute gem that we were lucky enough to visit today. Despite the expected 40-minute wait, we were fortunate as we got seated earlier due to a no-show. Seated outside, we really enjoyed by the gentle breeze. The ambiance was perfect, blending the laid-back island vibe with a welcoming and friendly vibes from the staff. Our meal began with the Loco Moke, featuring over easy eggs and a medium-rare ribeye. Each bite was a delightful dance of flavors, with the eggs cooked to perfection and the ribeye tender and juicy. The highlight for our sweet tooth was undoubtedly the lilikoi pancake. It was incredibly fluffy, and the sweetness was perfectly balanced. Our son was equally delighted with his Mickey Mouse pancake, which not only looked adorable but tasted fantastic as well. Staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. We felt so welcomed at Moke's.

Yelp
Awesome local Bread & Breakfast place. The make their own bread, muffins & pancakes in house! Nice variety of breakfast & lunch items. New server "Joey" from Seattle was OUTSTANDING in his knowledge of menu and spot on customer service! Worth the 25-35 minute wait. You must check in at the front entrance and they have seating outside while you wait for a table. "The Jeff" named after the crusty but friendly Super Server is my all time favorite. Prices have gone up but it's still a breakfast favorite of mine to dine in.

Yelp
Absolutely a must try! We got the sunrise breakfast with lilikoi pancakes and it was absolutely delicious. Not overly sweet and had a nice zing to it. My fiance got the loco moco and loved it. Very savory and filling. The hot coffee was also surprisingly great. The service was fantastic and our server made sure to give us great suggestions.
google avatar

Yelp
A good breakfast. In addition to pancakes and more pancakes, there are egg/omelet dishes and salads, too - I ordered the smoked ahi salad and it was generous and served cold, very tasty. A side order of bacon is 4 crispy slices. Super friendly service.

Yelp
Overall: The best breakfast we had in hawaii! I highly recommend the lilikoi pancakes and the Portuguese sausage! Food: the Lilikoi Pancakes were delicious! The sauce was very creamy and coated the pancakes very well. It was slightly sweet with a nice tang to it without being very overpowering. The Portuguese sausage was slightly spicy and not super salty like more sausages. The hash brown was slightly on the weaker end, it wasn't as crunch as I would have liked it to be but overall the meal was delicious and more than enough for 1 person to eat! I got the POG to drink and wouldn't recommend. It was very sweet. Service: the service was fairly good. They were pretty busy in the morning and we had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated. Our server was slightly difficult to flag down. He came to check in on us if we wanted anything every now and then. Food comes out fairly quick so the lines move fast here! Ambiance: the ambiance of the location overall was good. Parking is slightly difficult so highly recommend you come earlier to snag parking. Don't park at the plaza the street we've seen people get towed. Overall: 9.5/10 Food: 9.5/10

Yelp
We thought it would be fun to try this place since it had so many great reviews. We were so glad we did! My veggie omelet was delicious! I loved the grilled onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and greens. It had really great flavor to it even though I didn't have cheese added to it. My husband loved his Portuguese sausage omelet (mokapu) and my daughter loved her #1 breakfast special as well. We aren't really pancake people but decided to order a Lilikoi pancake and split it since that's what they are known for. Oh my goodness, it was SO delicious!!!! I'm going to be dreaming of those for a while thanks to the delicious, creamy Lilikoi sauce. I would come back here again just for the pancakes. Our server, Sheila, is the manager and was super great and keeps the restaurant hopping. Great food and great service so we will be coming back!

Yelp
Great service and food. The only item I felt could be better is the restroom. It's pretty dirty looking and outdated.
google avatar

Yelp
We waited for 30 minutes for our foods. Customers who came after us got their meals... our server forgot to place our order to kitchen. This is NOT acceptable. "Oh, sorry" won't do anything.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food you can't go wrong with whatever they suggest! Service is excellent 10/10

Jayne Glezelle D.

Yelp
This place can get busy real quick, requiring a wait line... The service is really welcoming and can find yourself having fun with some side humors the servers give. Very local, small town vibe inside making you feel at home! The food is simple yet tasty! A good breakfast spot in Kailua...

Yelp
Our favorite brunch place from our trip to Oahu, and we went to A LOT of brunch places. Super friendly service and delicious food. Very kind to our one year old. We hope to go back someday.

Yelp
My girlfriend had a massage appointment in Kailua this past Sunday, and we usually try to find a place for brunch/lunch. I told her we will try this place IF we could find parking, which we were lucky to find (street parking only). We checked in and the wait staff said it would be about a 20min wait, which we were okay with because we had to kill some time. Since it was a little cold and rainy, I'm assuming the wait would've been longer. Once we were seated, we were asked if we were brought water and also asked for anything else to drink. We didn't try the lilikoi pancakes (which they are known for). We did try their Moke Nui omelette, which came with mushrooms, spinach, bacon, and ham (my girlfriend ordered without tomato and onions). I tried their Rueben sandwich (because they make the bread in house). The omelette was good, and cooked perfect with the fresh veggies. Their Reuben I would recommend!!! The bread was light, and the corn beef was tasty. The cheese was perfectly melted. We would like to try their lilikoi pancakes on our next visit. The only thing that we wish was better would be the parking... (nothing negative toward the establishment.) Their service and food were really good.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere is cozy and nice for breakfast or lunch. Overall food was tasty.

Yelp
THE place to go for a hearty breakfast/brunch! We came on a Sunday around 9:30am and waited for only 10 minutes. Street parking was free because it was a Sunday. Our waitress was really friendly and made great recommendations from the menu. The portions were massive! I could barely finish half of my food, but that meant lots of yummy leftovers for later. I ordered The Jeff special (~$21), which consisted of stuffed hashbrowns topped with two eggs any style and brown gravy (the same one used for loco moco) and a side of fried rice. As someone who loves variety, this plate had so much going on but in the best way. The Lilikoi pancakes (~$13) had a delicious sauce with the perfect amount of tartness that balances out the sweetness; it's a must get. I sampled the Loco Moke (~$22) - what a clever name! The ribeye that substituted the traditional burger patty was tender and cooked well at medium. Overall, Moke's was one of my favorite meals from my trip, and I definitely recommend checking out this gem!
google avatar

Yelp
What a great place! Located off the beaten strip of the newer part of Kailua, Moke's is a fantastic place for your early morning fix. Whatever you do, just get the daily bread and eat it. Non question. The restaurant is reminiscent of your favorite mom and pop restaurant, and it is. Well, it can be. I choose to have this in rotation. If you are visiting and want an local vibe, Moke's is just the place. Just come by. Parking is tricky in any part of Kailua so be prepared to use coins for the meters. Do NOT park in the lot across the street. You will be towed.

Jenny C.

Yelp
Fellow visitors- this may single handedly be the reason to return back to Oahu. It's not easy for someone like myself to enjoy breakfast, and let me tell you- until I return, I will never enjoy breakfast again... BECAUSE IT'S NOT THE CHILI MOCO AND #1 SUNRISE BREAKFAST W/ LILIKOI PANCAKES FROM MOKES. Take it from the anti-breakfast pioneer, you will be left with happiness, a party in your mouth, extreme giggles and a ratatouille moment. The staff being the absolute best and accommodating is a bonus. Thank you Mokes for changing my life. I love you!!!!!

Melanie B.

Yelp
First and foremost the service is EXCELLENT!!! Mahina was so thoughtful and kind. And the other lady, sorry I don't recall her name, was very gracious as well. It was our first time, and they made great suggestions so we could get a taste of all the yummy dishes. The french toast was our fave, the homemade cinnamon bread flavor shines through and is a nice complement to the sweet maple syrup. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Yelp
Me and a girlfriend stumbled across this gem of a breakfast/brunch spot on a trip to Kailua to check out the progress on our new office space. It's a hole in the wall, super home-y vibe. The staff were super friendly, and it seemed like lots of people in there were regular customers. We ordered the veggie omelet & their famous lilikoi pancakes both were amazing. Friendly tip from the waiter : you can order just one pancake if the short stack (2) is a little too much. Will definitely be coming back once our new office is open!

Liz D.

Yelp
Delicious Lilikoi pancakes and great service. The locals know the best places to eat-Moke's!
google avatar

Claire D.

Yelp
What a wonderful little gem of a place! Service was wonderful and the food was fresh and delicious. Pancakes to die for!! Their special blend coffee was amazing. Definitely coming back next visit to the islands. Mahalo!

Yelp
An unexpected find in Kialua with amazing comfort food. It's a small and cozy place with friendly staff who are happy to make recommendations. We ordered loco moke and the home style breakfast but our server said we hade to try the liliko'i pancakes. I'm not a usually a pancake fan but this one was fluffy; the sauce was tart and rich topped off with whip cream. We highly recommend getting one. Both our meals were about $13-$15 dollars each so a good value for amazing comfort food in a relaxed setting.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
We had to return a second time, the food was amazing! The corned beef hash and fried rice were our favorite.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
I brought a friend here for breakfast after we hiked up and down Pillbox. If you decide to give Moke's a try, at the very least, get an order of the lilikoi syrup pancakes for the table to share-- as they are memorable. The wait staff here is always personable and caring, and the place has, in my opinion, earned "iconic status" as a place to grab some "first half of the day" chow in Kailua. It represents a lot of the positive things about life on the windward side of the island.
google avatar

Lulu Z.

Yelp
Cute breakfast spot. Limited street parking. We ordered liliko'i pancakes (2) to go since we couldn't find parking and ate in the car. To-go packaging is just so smart. Like they really put in a lot of consideration. The to-go box can easily split into two and use as plates. No sharp items required. The pancakes itself were fluffy and light. The liliko'i sauce (passion fruit), well balanced sweet and tartness.
google avatar

Deb K.

Yelp
I, personally, would give five stars but hubby said loco moco was "okay" and the guy across said the same. However, the lilikoi pancake and chocolate banana muffin were delicious! Coffee was bitter so pass on that. But do try their muffin of the day and lilikoi pancakes! AND go early. We got there 15 minutes before they opened and the line grew quickly. When we left, the line outside was as many as were seated inside.
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
I love love love coming to Moke's. The lilikoi pancakes are amazing (ask for extra sauce - it costs extra but it's worth it) and the loco moco is perfectly flavorful. I've come back for multiple special occasions (brunch waits require special occasions in my book) like reuniting with friends and when family come to visit. Im always so excited to share the yummy food with them. Street parking in free on Sundays in Kailua!
google avatar

Jasmine N.

Yelp
Great service, patient in explaining and recommending items. We went the lilikoi pancakes (a must) and loco moke for a savory option. The lilikoi sauce has a subtle flavor, sweet but not heavy, has a touch of citrus like orange flavor. The pancakes were not dry either! We recommend coming here to try the pancakes!
google avatar

Tori B.

Yelp
Here's the 2022 update! Still fantastic!! Excellent service and the food is beyond belief. This is out favorite breakfast place in Kailua. I had the combo with lilikoi pancakes ($2 upcharge worth every penny). Hubs had loco moco which he loved (not my jam). They serve GOOD coffee and you'll never see the bottom of your cup! COVID UPDATE: They require proof of vax or current negative test to sit indoors (thank you). Outdoor tables (only 2) were reserved for unvaxed/no test patrons. We would have preferred to sit out there, but we definitely appreciate the extra precaution! TIP: Street parking only. Bring quarters. Highly recommend

Yelp
THE BEST PANCAKES EVER!! We made it just in time before they close at 1pm and was able to get seated right away. They do require guests to show proof of vaccination and IDs before being seated. I knew right away that we had to get their Lilikoi Pancakes as it was their special. So we ordered a stack of 3 Lilikoi Pancakes and the Home-made Corn Beef Hash to share. The food didn't take long to come out and it looked amazing! The Corn Beef Hash was great, but the real star of the show were the pancakes. First of all the pancakes were bigger than I expected and if I wasn't sharing, then a stack of 2 would be plenty for me. They were SO fluffy and still steaming when I cut into them. And then there is the Lilikoi sauce!! Omg I would choose this sauce over maple syrup any day! I keep saying that these are the best pancakes that I have ever had, even days later. You need to come by and have the Lilikoi Pancakes! I can't wait to come back for some more.
google avatar

Ai L.

Yelp
Waited for about 20min on a sunday morning around 1030. Lilikoi pancake was delicious and not too sweet! Omlette with Portuguese sausage was yummy too and a generous portion with hasbrowns. Glad we waited for a table and very attentive staff who keeps our coffee cups full. I would come back any day.

Yelp
IF YOU'RE READING THIS, YOU NEED TO COME HERE!! Amazing brunch in the area! Close to be beach. There is street parking. DO NOT park in the parking lot across from Moke's or else you will get towed! They even posted a sign to warn customers. Staff is extremely friendly and courteous. Food came out really fast! Good selection of dishes to choose from. My friends and I ordered: Stuffed hash browns mokapu style w/ fried rice -- def get the fried rice cause plain white rice is just not the same IMO. The hash browns were definitely crispy and stuffed with meat, cheese, and mushrooms. So unique is delicious! Loco moco w/ rice -- 2 beef patties with over easy fried egg smothered in gravy sauce. This dish was well made. So comforting and filling. Eggs were cooked just right and had the runny yolk when you cut into it. Short stack lilikoi pancakes (2pcs) -- you gotta get this!! I was throughly impressed at how yummy these pancakes were! I normally order savory items but my friend and I decided to share the lilikoi pancakes. It wasn't too sweet and had a good passionfruit flavor. The sauce was addicting because my friend kept coming back for more and wiping the plate clean.. COME HERE. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We showed up at 12pm on a Saturday and we're seated almost immediately. We took a spot outside. It was comfortable in the shade. We got the muffin of the day, bread pudding, French toast with lilikoi sauce and loko moko. The muffin and bread pudding came out right away. They were so good I ate more than I planned and was almost full when the main corse came out. The portions are very generous. We could have easily settled with one thing. We went home with plenty of left overs. Nice place, people, and food.

Yelp
My favorite breakfast spot in Kailua. The coffee is fantastic and the cafe has a good local vibe that serves a nice breakfast in a cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
Breakfast Easter Sunday was really good, and the service was great. Nice little spot to eat.
