Moko Artspace

We stumbled upon this place while we were tootling around the area and what a great find it was. It was the cherry on the top while visiting Hot Water Beach. Run by a super couple who reside there also. The shop is full of interesting bibs and bobs, NZ art, and kiwiana and it is very affordable. Great place to buy a memento, a gift for someone, something to adorn your walls or just to admire their beautiful garden adorned with sculptures that accompany some very beautiful specimen plants. This you walk through to get to the gallery. We had a shop and had a yarn with them and their friends. This is what is so nice about the Coromandel- people are so friendly and laid back with time for you. We will be back.

A great little gem at hot water beach. The architecture of the house got out attention, and then when we walked closer we saw that there is a little art shop at the back, with indoor and garden art... Allot of different art to pick and choose from...

The larger artwork is phenomenal. It’s definitely worth it to view the art. What I found disappointing is the very little knowledge of the artists and where the products they’re selling in the gallery shop are produced/made/sourced. For some of the more affordable items (I.e., under $50), the staff couldn’t tell me the material, where it was made (even in NZ), or who made it.

The owners are so helpful and knowledgeable, I often take my visitors here to buy gorgeous Jewellery, they also have a great range of garden art

Gorgeous hand made art, beautiful pieces and very reasonable prices. The staff were awesome and the shovel rental helps fund the local beach/surf rescue squad!
