Mole Motel

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Motel. Great position on a ridge above a watering hole where you can see animals come to drink and bathe. There is a viewing area featuring trees with colonies of monkeys and a pool terrace with occasional raiding parties of baboons so watch out for your stuff. The visitor centre, where you can book safaris, is a 2 minute walk away. Food at the restaurant was good chop bar standard with some western and Asian options. The staff at the motel were helpful and welcoming, nice people. We had a room with a/c, which was spartan but very roomy and airy, the mattress were comfortable. The WiFi was solid, only one brief outage when we were there, and fast enough to stream media. The pool was very welcome, especially after a walking safari, but it is badly in need of maintenance and swimmers should be asked to shower before using the pool. We’ve given 4 stars but it would be nudging 5 if the pool was in better condition. We would definitely stay here again.

Staying at Mole Motel was a fantastic experience and a great base for exploring Mole National Park. I stayed in one of the chalets overlooking the watering hole, which made it easy to enjoy views of wildlife throughout the day.||The room was comfortable and clean for a more remote location, with working AC and mostly reliable Wi‑Fi (occasionally I stepped outside the room for a stronger connection). It was a very relaxing and quiet place to spend a few days.||It was easy to join daily walking or driving safaris without much prebooking, and the staff were super friendly, attentive, and helpful with arrangements. I also found it fairly easy to reach by public bus from Tamale to Damongo, then a tuk tuk to the park (can also get to Larabanga on the way and see the mosque). If you’re comfortable with local transport and a more adventurous traveller, it’s a straightforward option (tip: if you have a bigger bag, buy an extra seat for it).||The restaurant/bar was also good, but suggest ordering meals ahead of time. I really enjoyed the spicy kelewele, tried pizza for a bit of comfort food, and the recommended groundnut soup was delicious and very filling.||Overall, this is a great spot if you want simple, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful location with convenient access to safaris and plenty of chances to see animals each day.

We stayed here for one night and genuinely really enjoyed our stay. You definitely get what you pay for, so don’t expect anything luxurious — it’s basic, clean, and does the job well. The main reception staff were amazing and truly went above and beyond to help us; however, unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for the restaurant staff. We may have ordered at the wrong time, but we had fowl with rice and were quite disappointed — it was surprising how something so simple could go wrong. The room itself was clean and well looked after, although the bathroom water pressure was a little low. That said, the absolute highlight of our stay — and the main reason for the 4-star rating — was stepping outside and literally seeing a wild elephant right outside our room door. Absolutely phenomenal!

The room was good, well furnished and spacious. The bathroom not terrible nor wonderful. The swimming pool is well kept. The restaurant is poor: items are very expensive, it has little to offer, the closing time is very early (considering that there are a lot of foreigner tourists, and that many go for night safari and come back late), and they take too long to serve the dish. Breakfast is minimal. The bar is very poor. At the same time, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the park.

The hotel itself is quite basic but has everything you could need. The room was fairly clean and the staff were helpful. What really stood out about staying here was the view down to one of the waterholes in the national park and all of the nature that you could see actually at the hotel. It felt very peaceful there. For visiting the national park it is a good option for the price it costs.

Loved their food. It's a cozy place and the tourist attraction is the highlight. Bit warm but that's just Northern temperature

We had a wonderful family stay here. While the room was simple it was comfortable and a wonderful value. Knowing we had to order meals other than breakfast in advance was helpful. While they were out of some items everything they had was very good and generally large portions. We would definitely choose this lodging option for a future visit to Mole.

This might be the more affordable option at Mole National Park, but it is still 5stars from me. The service is absolutely top notch, way above the typical Ghana experience. The food is absolutely delicious, just preorder to avoid long wait times. And the rooms are basic but comfortable with a fridge that helps keep your water nice and cold.
