Nice restaurant. Good service. Food was amazing. I loved it. Drinks were perfect. Seating were a little uncomfortable. People behind be were always hitting my back. Cushions are very low and tables were tiny. I had pineapple, lime tequila drink. It was just very sinuous to margarita, just sold, less lime and no ice. I love no ice drinks. For food we ordered fish ceviche, sweet and sour shrimp, tartar like tuna appetizer and lobster tagliatelle. Please, view pictures bellow)))

Visited Mollusca for brunch and had good overall experience. To start off, we were offered complimentary sparkling wine since they just opened for brunch a few weeks ago. Our waiter is attentive throughout our meal, quickly taking order, ensuring our glass of water is filled, etc. Food also came out quick and our favorite is the Spicy Tuna with Black Caviar and gold leaf. We were slightly disappointed with the Crab Cake as compare to the price and flavor, there is room for improvement. Other then that, a nice spot for brunch in the area with street parking available nearby.

The food was fantastic! Great place to celebrate a birthday! Beautiful decor. There wasn’t one bad plate. Cocktails were great too. Super friendly staff. It did take a bit to get our cocktails so I would suggest having another bartender. Would definitely go back even just by myself for a bite. They nice outdoor dining too. Very sleek and chic restaurant. 10/10!

I should've listened to the reviewers regarding the service... Food: **** Service: * Not too busy on a Sunday night. We ordered the scallop ceviche (*****), double tartare (*****), lobster tagliatelle (**), signature mussels with caviar sauce (***), tiramisu (***). The food is okay - definitely go for the raw seafood over cooked entrees. The lobster tagliatelle is pretty bland and greasy, whereas the mussels are too tiny and of small portion. We did enjoy the ceviche and tartare - fish are marinated with good amount of sauce and very fresh. What ruined everything is the service - it's such a pity how this place is managed. We waited for 40 min after our appetizer just to get the tagliatelle. It turned out that our waitresses and the kitchen messed up our order with the table next to us, who got their food right after they ordered. While we were waiting, we asked our server and other restaurant staff multiple times regarding our entrees and despite that we've been waiting for our food for 40min, they didn't apologize or try to compensate, instead, they were too embrassed to even come to our table and check in on us. Given the terrible dining experience, we wouldn't consider coming back. If this is how this place is being managed, I feel really sorry that it wouldn't survive too long in this neighborhood.

Mollusca was recommended to us as an unusual and absolutely unique experience by our friends. We decided to celebrate my husband birthday here. We enjoyed not only the delicious and unusual food, but also the amazing atmosphere and of course the service. We tried various appetizers that had unique flavor and all kinds of sauces. Tuna tar tar, a giant raviolo, salmon tataki, crab croquettes…By the time we got to the main course, we were already full. But they were also delicious and beautiful in appearance head on Shrimp, lobster tagliatelle, sea bass and branzino ! The restaurant has a huge selection of drinks and wine! We will definitely be back to try more dishes and just to have a good time.

The food was amazing! We celebrated the New Year’s Eve in Mollusca, no words to describe the food we’ve tried there , the Chef is incredible and the beverage Director Kate is awesome! Hope they will put back the green ceviche with white corn on the menu, it’s amazing reminds me my childhood!!!

Lovely and upscale environment and amazing food! The raw uni and scallop melts immediately in my mouth and it’s super smooth. The mussels (we ordered spicy Coca Cola sauce) is a must-have. The lobster pasta is delightful too. The service is five star!

Google
One of my top 3 restaurants in NYC! I would give it 10 stars if possible. The food is exquisite, the ambiance is so nice, such a fancy and beautiful restaurant located in a nice area. If you are looking for upscale seafood in New York City, and you want a great vibe then this is your place! Highly recommended 👌🏼

Yelp
TLDR: really great food and ambiance but just OK service We came to Mollusca for a team celebration and the ambiance of this place is 10/10. The interior is impeccably decorated and so beautiful! The service was decent for the most part, except our server forgot and lost our mains order (which added another 40-50 minutes to our wait time). In terms of food, everything was great. My favorites were the calamari (so crispy and light) and the burrata (can never go wrong - so delish)

Yelp
I hate the decor here. Whoever decided darkness magnified by mirrors was a good idea was clearly as blind as a bat. It feels like you're dining in a '60s pimp's sex dungeon. But that's the only thing about Mollusca I can gripe about. The food here is fantastic--in fact, probably the best meal I've had in recent memory. Pricey? Yes. But in these inflation times, at least you get the most bang for your buck here. - Mussels with Condensed Milk Wasabi: Not my first pick for mussels sauce, but the birthday girl's husband wanted to try it. Points for creativity? - Branzino Crudo: So fresh and tart. I felt like Homer Simpson under the sea. - Ceviche Misto + Hamachi Ceviche: What ceviche should always taste like--and amply portioned too. - Empanadas with Crab, Shrimp, Artisanal Cheese: A fun and deceptively simple way to jazz up empanadas. The crab was fresh too. - Mollusca Tagliatelle: I'm a sucker for seafood pasta period, but this was just heavenly. Perfectly al dente nooz + perfectly cooked lobster tail. - Seafood Paella with Saffron Lobster Sauce: After having some horrible paella recently, this was like a balm on my soul. More please? We got 3 rounds of fries because they were too good to stop noshing. Oh, and for birthdays, they send complimentary profiteroles, which were quite nice (free always tastes great). Want alk? Try the Catch You in the Raspberries for fruity bramble, the Normandie Club Old Fashioned for something classic...or if you're REALLY adventurous and like salt, you can get the Tidal Wave. Teetotalers will love the gorgeous and tasty Atlantic.

Yelp
I don't even know where to start... delicious seafood, the amazing waiter, or the live jazz music?!? I have had my eye on this place for a while after coming across a video on IG. Being a lover of French styled mussels and frites, also a huge jazz fan... I found my way to Mollusca after securing a reservation. The waiter, who goes by L.V... his actual initials, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and pairings. We ordered the ceviche, coconut curry mussels, and the branzino. 10s across the board!!!! The band had just set up and began its set when we received our first glass of wine and was in a full swing of scatting and improvising by the time our mussels touched the table. If you like great ambiance, music, and delicious seafood... don't walk...run!

Yelp
02/02/23: What a gem in the meatpacking district. Stumbled upon this find in my seated reservation app. Wow..from the pics I saw on line I wasn't ready. The decor very chic, classy and upscale. I felt I needed a cocktail dress and heels.. lol. Greeted warmly upon entering and seated immediately. Hosted asked the time upon hearing he stated ok good you all have time to partake in the happy hour menu. #winning. Also I love a spot where you don't need to be seated at the bar to partake in happy hour. HH Monday-Friday 3 - 6 pm Selections; 2 east Coast Oysters.. yum. You can taste the freshness Duck Bacon Wrapped Dates: not a fan of dates but bacon makes everything better. They were very tasty i actually enjoyed Salted Caramel and Popcorn Mussels: yes popcorn was included. Although tasty it wasn't my favorite. White Wine and Garlic Mussels: now these were yummy. Folks it was a lot of mussels in each pot. I love the presentation even the unexpected bib placed over our necks. Now for the mains.. I'm sure our server were probably like damn they are greedy..lol. Side note: rather a lengthy delay between our appetizers and meals. We finally learned they had a surprise visit from the health department. Was a little annoyed as if we didn't ask the delay we wouldn't have been told. Anyhoo..we received complimentary round of drinks. My friend opted for restaurant week menu.. I selected a la cart. Restaurant week $60 Popcorn Shrimp. Not the regular you're accustomed to.. I think the Bonito Flakes threw it off (bonito flakes shaving from a tuna like fish which is fried fermented and smoked) Salmon Mustard Purée Potato Parsley fondue, vegetable tartare with carrots and cucumbers. Salmon skin was so crispy and well seasoned. Wish some of that seasoning made it to the actual salmon. It was still ok just needed a bit more ooph. However as simple as those potatoes and carrot and cucumber they were delicious. Portion size was on the smaller scale. Dessert: profiteroles with chocolate cream condense mike and vanilla ice cream. Definitely + for those with sweet tooth. I sampled a tad because all that dairy would not be safe trip for me on the L train. My Main Branzino in Acqua Pazza Sauce, Oliva Taggiasca, Pine Nuts, charred cherry tomatoes. (No accompaniment) People this is where I failed myself and didn't ask questions. I did say no pine nuts. However it came with red sauce not a fan of red sauce, also had an olive undertone.. I don't like olives. Sooooo folks RIF.. Reading Is Fundamental. But I will say if you like those items you will love this dish. The branzino was seasoned and tasty..but the olive taste... Gem salad: ordered As my poor branzino was a loner. Avocado Edamame Tomatoe Cucumber (love the shaped) with citrus dressing. What was not listed was the sesame seeds I guess they have for garnish. Not a fan had I know would have told to omit. But minus the seeds salad was yummy. I looove avocado so if involved it will be delicious. Note; there is a live DJ at starting at 8pm. As our meal was delayed we made the DJ cut. Not sure of the style but it was basically old school pop and RB mixed to club beats. She was pretty good. All in all upscale trendy seafood venue. Great vibes, chic decor, good food and amazing customer service. Oh yeah: bathrooms very clean as soon as you vacate attendant goes in and spruce it up. Bathrooms are for all no segregation. No paper towels. Wash cloths are lined by the sink and with a opening to dispose after usage. Lastly it's a seated dine so I earned $$ from the bill. Download app use code michelle1454.

Yelp
I love mussels so when I heard of a place that had over 30 flavors/sauces, I made a reservation right away. Mollusca has normal flavors like garlic and oil but also crazy kinds like condensed milk Wasabi and salted caramel & popcorn. I got the white wine & garlic and Miso lobster bisque. i will definitely be back to try the creamy truffle and caviar sauce. The ceviche misto with shrimp, scallop, octopus, hamachi, salmon, branzino, and sweet potatoes in a leche de tigre marinade was wonderful. So many flavors that were delicious and balanced. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We were at first seated at the smallest 2 person table but switches us when they realized how tight and uncomfortable it would be with all the food ordered. Throughout the night all staff checked in on us and cleared any mess to make sure our space was clean. This is a great spot and I can't wait to go back and try the other foods and mussel flavors.

Yelp
TLDR: Okay choice if you're in the mood for seafood and in this area. I'd say the apps were definitely the strongest dishes we had. We tried Mollusca for a weekend dinner. They definitely put effort into the interior. It may actually be a bit over the top, there's a lot going on. All of the appetizers we had were solid. The Double Tartare consisted of both salmon and tuna with caviar and rice crackers to spread them on. Luscious, delicious minced fish and a generous portion considering the type of dish it was. Seafood empanadas were not something you usually come across but they were flaky, crispy and had a decent amount of seafood. Unfortunately, here's where the happy memories stopped. We tried their spaghetti carbonara which was a standard carbonara with the addition of diced tuna and bonito flakes. The carbonara was a bit bland for me. Not quite as rich as I'd expect, there were no punchy flavors that are consistent with a good carbonara. Rich egg yolk, crispy guanciale, fragrant black pepper and plenty of pecorino. This tasted very watered down and the tuna didn't quite come together for me. The mussel pot was the worst for me. For a place called Mollusca, the mussel pots I'd have expected to be much more. We tried the miso lobster bisque. I would not know if there was any miso in it, it was a very watery bisque. There was zero lobster in this miso lobster bisque. The pot was barely full. Very lackluster. For mussels, Flex is a far better choice. The fries were okay but again, very bland and no lobster. That was the biggest disappointment. Would I come back again? Maybe, if I was in the area and was craving one of the specific apps. For how much this meal is though, your money can go longer in so many other places.

Yelp
This is a nice and very elegant looking restaurant that screams high class NYC but the prices themselves are pretty reasonable considering that it is a seafood restaurant. The interior was dark and elegant and the house music blaring through the sound system made you think that every night was a Friday or Saturday night out and the floor would be turning into a dance floor later that night. The decor was modern and lots of marble was used. The food was delicious and definitely looks very high class but still within reason in terms of price. The risotto dishes were hearty and had a strong seafood taste but was welcome as the main focus of the food was on the seafood itself. The service was also pretty decent as well...the servers were helpful in terms of making sure we had what we needed. All in all, I liked this place for its food and ambiance and for how it shifts my mindset into feeling more rich and high class without leaving me with a huge huge bill.

Yelp
Mollusca is a new upscale restaurant in town offering a ravishing interior with global influences through flavor and experience. This new addition to Chelsea offers vegan, vegetarian, and seafood delicacies, with absolutely delicious cocktails- a new NYC favorite has arrived! As a vegetarian, the owner was able to graciously accommodate my dietary restrictions, while offering many different entree options and small alterations to existing dishes. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely unique! The ambience is nothing short of beautiful, modern, and tasteful, offering the most delightful dining experience all around. The waiters were patient and attentive as well! As someone who has been involved in the food community for years, I would give Mollusca a 10/10 for everything the Mollusca team has to offer! You won't regret visiting this new gem in town

Yelp
Walked in to this truly upscale restaurant. We already had brunch, but we couldn't resist this beautiful place. We're currently enjoying drinks and Hopefully we'll return later this week before our trip back to the mountains. They have an extensive wine and drink selections and specialize in seafood. This place is worth a visit to view the bar and interior.

Yelp
Overall - food DELICIOUS, service -- very underwhelming. We made reservations ahead of time and had them for 7pm. It took a really long time for drinks to be ordered upon being sat. But the kicker was at 730 we were told the kitchen was closing in 20 minutes. Which seemed odd as they had tables still being sat around us and reservations were available until 830 when we first made them. We were ready to order, however, once we ordered the mussels took an extraordinary length of time to get to our table. (Almost an hour). It was an odd dining experience to say the least but the restaurant is beautiful and the food was amazing. Excellent location and has a heck of a cocktail and wine selection. Would highly recommend the kimchi mussels for anyone who makes a reservation during the week when they apparently don't close early because "it's Sunday".

Yelp
As I was walking by the flower festival, I bumped into Mollusca. I dined in once before and met the incredible chef Alex and a incredibly friendly waitress named, Marie. So when I happened to come upon Mollusca again and glanced at the table of two fashionable men eating a beautiful small dish - I knew I had to try it. The shrimp popcorn with cream spicy sauce did not disappoint. It actually was better than I expected. But if you've ever had any of Chef Alex's dishes, you would already know it would be heaven on your taste buds and say hello to Marie while your there. On a side note, the hostess, Dasha was also very pleasant and the maitre D', Milan was excellent. I will definitely be back.

Thomas D.

Yelp
Something went seriously sideways with reservations and took forever to get a table even though we had a reservation. Big problems with the food - they are doing unique and different things which is great. But these were probably the sandiest mussels I've ever had - downright gritty. The raw fish plates were interesting but just didnt work - there's a reason spicy tuna is hidden inside of a roll and not piped on top of a rice cracker.

Janice H.

Yelp
If you come here, 100% check out the bathroom. If you never had a taste of what it's like to have a butler, it's quite the interesting experience LOL Got the creamy white wine mussels and the mussels were tasty enough but standard. I really liked how they prepared the garlic bread (well oiled + crunchy everywhere) and the little bucket of shoestring fries (also very crunchy). The quality of seafood you get for the price is satisfactory, but there are places in the city where you can get better for the same price. So overall good experience, a little pricey for what you get food-wise (though probably to pay for the upkeep of the really fancy interior) and nothing too memorable other than the bathroom part. If you care a lot about aesthetics, this is the place for you.

Desirae F.

Yelp
Craving an assortment of seafood? mollusca has you covered. We knew that coming to this restaurant we had to go all out, not only did we but the restaurant did too. The second you walk in the music is bumpin and the atmosphere gives you club/outgoing energy. It's fits perfectly in the meatpacking district. This spot goes above & beyond with taste and their presentations from apps to dessert. The seafood tasted extremely fresh. Make sure you order the mussels!! If you have adventurous tastebuds you can choose from 30+ signature sauces ranging from your traditional wine wine garlic to peanut butter popcorn. Sweet or savory you can't go wrong. The Waiter was super helpful when helping us decide which sauce to choose. The oysters also slid off the shell and were absolutely delicious!! I could've ordered a dozen to have myself. The icing on the cake was the Tiramisu "caviar". The presentation was out of this world and the edible gold was a nice touch. It's a great place for a date night or to go to before a night out. .

Yelp
Absolutely loved my experience at Mollusca! The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and the drinks were fantastic. The ambiance was charming and the staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend! Also, I recommend the Double Tartare! Super good!

Sydney C.

Yelp
Let's start with the good, because the list is short; the ambiance is excellent, the drinks are fairly well constructed and priced, and the DJ that night was spot on. The service and food on the other hand was majorly lacking. Service was incredibly slow for the size of the restaurant. Our drink order was taken after about 15-20m after we sat down- not terrible... but the bottle of wine we ordered did not come till well after our meal was served. Wine refills were often delayed. It was also quite a challenge to flag down our server. Food came out without any regard to any kind of system. Our main courses came out before any appetizers. We expected our mussels for the table to share to come out first, seemed like a reasonable expectation since it was the first item on the menu, before the appetizer listing; but it ended up coming out last. The bread that was suppose to accompany it came out 20min later. The food was not spectacular. The toro roll was pretty terrible. The nori was actually really crisp and fresh, but the rice was terribly prepared. I could not even tell if the fish was good or not due to the terrible sushi rice. We got the popcorn shrimp - the batter was not great, the sauce coating it was pretty good; but overall poorly executed dish. The lobster tagliatelle with truffles was very bland. The pasta was cooked well but had no flavor. The sauce and the lobster were pretty bland as well. The mussels were actually really good - thank god given the name of the restaurant. When the bread finally came out, it was freshly baked and also delicious. The best dish of the night was the Wagyu tataki. The Wagyu was well executed. The uni was okay. The truffles were a great addition. This small plate will run you $70 though. This place is great if you want some drinks, some great ambiance, and maybe some muscles. But for a full dinner, this is a big pass. Dinner for 5 ran us over $800 - Not terrible for the location and especially considering we were pretty stuffed and the drinks we ordered were great.

Malia H.

Yelp
It was pretty, but not yummy. The vibe is great. Go for drinks and live music, but not the food.

Lee L.

Yelp
Amazing food but service can make it or break it. And therefore 2 stars only. We made a reservation for 5 o'clock 3 people (females) and were asked to leave after two hours. The host approached us with these exact words "ladies we have a reservation right after you and it's a 2 hour max". Mind you we were still waiting for our deserts. After I pointed it out to him he felt uncomfortable and disappeared. The waiter handed us our bill. Still no dessert and no coffee. How low! After such an amazing ambiance and food presentation... Reservation was done via OpenTable and nowhere was it mentioned about the 2 hour max. All good. Just wanted to share this with everyone if you are planning to have a girls night out go some place else. This place is by the minute. Sad.

Sophia S.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner back in april and i have to say this place felt so luxurious! Our waitress was super friendly and very patient with us even when one of our party came really late on a friday night but she still let us wait until our party came. The food was little pricey for the portion but very tasty! We ordered the double tartare for appetizer, lobster pasta, salmon, and scallop squid ink risotto. As the night goes, the dj plays music in the back so the music can get really loud but it would be a great place to go if you're looking for chill, fun, dinner before going out.

Michelle T.

Yelp
A week late with this review but I had THE most amazing dinner experience here last Saturday! My friend and I had an early dinner reservation at 4:30pm and didn't leave here until after 10pm because the experience just kept going! We can't wait to go back! Service: was top notch; 5-stars start to finish ! We were seated immediately after we arrived and was given an option of seating, we opted for the booth/couch seating. The bonus to the area we chose was our server Soleil, she was amazing! She gave us some great and honest suggestions and feedback on menu items and we loved all of her recommendations (except the spicy Coca Cola sauce for the mussels). She was very attentive and checked on us often without being too overwhelming. We also met the manager Milan, he is just a ball of positive energy! He chatted with us for a bit then invited us to the lounge area at the end our dining and offered us a complimentary drink. Because of Soleil and Milan, my friend is now planning her birthday dinner here in June! The aesthetics and ambience is absolutely beautiful! It appears to be dark in there but they have individual lighting that hangs directly above the tables. Even the bathroom is beautiful and smelled amazing! I also loved that they provided washcloths for your hands instead of paper towel. The only issue we had was that the chairs were too low to the tables, so you almost had to stretch up to reach the pots/plates on the table. They have a happy hour M-F 3-6pm. From the HH menu, we had the little neck clams in garlic butter sauce (served with toasted baguettes) and oysters ($2 each). The sauce on the clams were to DIE for! Omg I'm drooling writing this! The oysters were really fresh and the mignonette and cocktail sauces complimented them very well. For drinks I had the tropical rain $15 (it was refreshing but didn't really give cocktail) and my friend had the Rickshaw Sauvignon blanc $10. Drinks: the coral reef was our absolute fave cocktail! The tequila pineapple was okay. I had a really good Hennessy sidecar (not on the menu). Food: besides the oysters and clams, we also had the seafood empanadas and the octopus ceviche for appetizers. Both were easily 5 stars. The seafood in all the dishes were soo fresh! And the sauces and pairings complimented the dishes really well. There are SOO many sauce options for the mussels we didn't know what to do! Soleil recommended the Cacio e Pepe and the spicy Coca Cola sauces. The Cacio e Pepe was amazing! (I know I've used that word so many times already but it's true!). The creaminess, the flavor; just pure perfection! The spicy Coca Cola just did not do it for us, the flavor was very underwhelming but they were quick to replace it. The mussels come with frites(fries) and baguettes. For entrees I had the seafood paella with saffron lobster sauce and my friend had the lobster tagliatelle, both were very flavorful and yummy! We finished the crème brûlée which was also delicious!

Nan W.

Yelp
Words cannot begin to describe how great this place was!! The atmosphere, the service, the food, the menu selection, and the drinks were all fabulous!! Pricey? Yes, if you like to drink and plan to eat 3 courses then plan to spend $150-$250. It's not cheap! But the food was so flavorful, the fish was fresh, and the service was fantastic! I would recommend the gyozo app, the tagliatelle lobster pasta, their signature cocktail, and the hamachi! The cream puff dessert was a no for me, as was the raviolo. Didn't deliver. The only thing they could work on is their desert curation. For how creative and exotic all of their dishes are I would expect more of their deserts. But I would highly recommend! This delivers on all the marks!

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Absolutely love this spot in Chelsea for a late night drink and quick bite. The ambiance is dark and romantic, servers are quick and attentive, and the mussels + fries with a wide variety of sauces to choose from are a must-get.

Robyn T.

Yelp
@mollusca_nyc is a seafood haven nestled in the of the meat packing district with dishes that are sure to impress. Their seafood dishes are exquisite and unparalleled when it comes to freshness and flair WHAT WE DRANK: - Espresso Martini - Catch you in the raspberries WHAT WE ATE : - Gyoza - fried calamari - Tagliatelle - lobster roll The ambiance is impeccable with their live music to set the mood. Dress your best and head on down for a meal of a lifetime. Our waitress was super sweet.

Diondra B.

Yelp
Beautiful elegant place in the city. Every detail accounted for. Drinks were great. They havevthese Beautiful gold oysters. We also tried the Seabass

Angel H.

Yelp
Parking is absolutely terrible but food is worth it! The raw oysters are absolutely phenomenal, so fresh and sweet with the perfect amount of brine. The mussels are a must get. There's like a million sauces you can choose from. We also got the truffle pasta which was amazing. Every bite was super rich and creamy. Will definitely come back again.

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner with a group of 11. We had the pre-fix menu... I had the ceviche - delish, octopus -was okay, mussels - I did not like the mussels at all, and the lobster roll was A JOKE ...literally the tiniest lobster pieces on hotdog bread. My favorite part was honestly the drinks. I wasn't a fan of their drink menu so I ordered a spicy margarita- Amazing! The espresso martini was also delicious! The place itself is very pretty. I went to the bathroom on my way up the stairs the entire handrail came off!!! I was literally standing there holding the huge handrail in my hand. An employee came and asked if I was okay. I was surprised that management never came to check up on me after I almost ripped my nail off. Can't forget to mention it was HOT! Everyone was fanning themselves ... couldn't believe how the air conditioning was not on when it's a hot august day! Overall, This place was cute but it was more like one and done especially with how expensive they are!

Jackie H.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance of this place. We enjoyed the mussels with white wine and garlic sauce, oysters, ceviche, and pan seared octopus, shrimp, potato, and poached egg. Everything was tasty and service was nice. Would recommend for a date night or girls catch up brunch!

Fiona R.

Yelp
I had the opportunity to check out Mollusca while in town. The decor was classy and beautiful. The presentation was bang on. The food was OUT OF THE WORLD. One thing you HAVE to get are their Mussels (they have 50 different unique sauces! It was so hard to choose one). They also have a full bar that makes hand crafted drinks. What we ordered: ... Mussels in Creamy White Wine Sauce - Comes w/ 2pc of baguette and frites//$28 ... Double Tartare Tuna + Salmon - W/ Siberian Select Black Caviar, Nori Rice Chips//$33 ... Mollusca Signature Open Roll - Scallop, Pear Parmesan Cream, Fresh Truffle//$28 for 2pc ... Pan Seared Shrimp Risotto - Spinach Cream, Parmesan Fondue, Black Sesame Seed//$31 ... Mollusca Martini//$28 ... Espresso Martini//$19 If you are ever in New York, do yourself a favour and drop by!

Ashley C.

Yelp
Mussels were a 10/10! The limoncello spritz was bitter so was kind of disappointed in our cocktail. Service was good. One star off also because it was a hot day and the AC was not working. They did their best by accommodating us in a better table near a window but I was surprised since it's a new restaurant and it's the summer! I hope they get it fixed soon because I definitely want to come back!

Frank A.

Yelp
Mollusca is the first New York (and US) outpost of the upscale mini-chain that focuses on mussels and other seafood. With 30 plus preparations of mussels, this is not your typical mussels and frites spot. Beyond the food, the cocktails, service and ambiance are over the top. Great addition to the NY scene.

Maria D.

Yelp
This was an incredible lunch! This place is absolutely gorgeous! The interior is trendy and plush! The food is unique and fantastic! Since it's a seafood restaurant I have to also add that everything was incredibly fresh! Their Double Tartar was out of this world delicious, decorated with mini flowers and sturgeon caviar! Another amazing dish was their presentation of Toro (O M G!!!) And of course if mussels are your thing -- they have their signature way of serving them that beats everything we have ever had. They offer a huge list of light, creamy and unique sauces, like parsley, truffle, bbq, and so on! We picked the caviar sauce and couldn't stop dipping our warm and toasty sourdough bread in it! Our waiter Israel made this experience even better he was so knowledgeable and caring! This kind of service is so rare these days we were smitten with him! He was incredible with his suggestions, very knowledgeable with wine, quick and friendly! This place has a great wine list. Their Greek Orange Wine was fantastic!

Yelp
Excellent. All was delish! Muscles and sushi. Wonderful service. Did not taste blueberry goat cheese in sushi roll, even though mentioned. Still very good.

Yelp
Came here very recently for dinner with a friend. The inside vibe is dark and sexy with velvet chairs and nice looking bar with mirrors to make the space look larger. I was excited to try this place based on some of the dishes I saw on tik tok, but upon viewing the menu that wasn't happening. The menu had 4 appetizers, 3 entrees, a few drinks, one dessert (a tiramisu for 4 ppl) and no sides. Yes you read that right. I asked the waitress is this all and I wanted to try this specific pasta dish I saw for example, she confirmed it was a new menu with limited options. It also lacked variety for example two mussel options, oysters and shrimp for appetizers. Eek. We settled on two appetizers, mussels in wine sauce and spicy shrimp. And we both ordered the Branzino. Again, no sides with our dinner because none were available to order. We ordered two drinks. My friend had a glass of wine which she enjoyed and I ordered the drink with the smoke and flowers which I did not enjoy. It's a beautiful presentation! The drink itself though was not good. I think it has potential to be great if they play with the ingredients more and remove the medicine-like taste. While we waited for our food we couldn't help but feel the cold draft everytime the door opened. We were not seated right by the door, we were seated further in by the stairs and DJ but the draft traveled. When the mussels came out, they came with fries which was a pleasant surprise since we came hungry. The mussels were just OK. The fries were amazing. The shrimp was OK. Both dishes were pretty to look at but were both pretty average in taste- except the fries they were really good. The branzino came out, by itself in a tomato like sauce. It tasted good and light. We ate the fish but the lack of sides with our entree was extremely annoying for me. The fries that came with the mussels were not on the menu, but they do have them in the back so specifically ask if you want them. The off the menu fries were the best dish we ate there. Service matched the food. More to be desired. By now I was ok with finishing my lonely branzino, paying and leaving. Price approximately $250 +tip. I don't mind paying $$$$ for a fab dining experience but this one was quite underwhelming.

Yelp
I came here to enjoy some fresh seafood around lunch time, but they told me their main raw bar chef wasn't coming in so it wouldn't be available?! In the end they told me they could make the tartare I wanted, but I was a fool. It was the worst and expensive tartare of my life. It was just plain mush and the fish didn't taste fresh. The highlight of my short meal was my non alcoholic drink Atlantica. At $14 it was really such a delightful and perfect drink. I definitely want to come back here and give it another shot. The aesthetic is worth it for a perfect date! Feels straight out of Tulum.

Yelp
When we came in there we were pretty surprised since it was pretty empty, however in 30 minutes everything changed - it was fully booked. Food quality was great and the prices was not high. Mussels quality was surprising, they were supper clean without any sand. I tried mussels in many restaurants around the globe, but none of them had such quality. The only downside that waiters are not familiar with the menu yet, I am pretty sure it will change soon.

Yelp
Ruined my birthday dinner. I've been here before and absolutely loved it, but I also came when it wasn't prime time dinner time. We waited 90 mins for the first item to come out. By then I was practically begging the waitress to give me some sort of sustenance besides alcohol. Luckily the food gods showed some mercy and provided us the double Tatare. We were waited another 20 mins before the rest of our food came out. Again missing things we ordered or additions we requested. It's ok though, thankfully my company made up for the lackluster service. $400 later and they comped us some $10 gyoza we didn't even order. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Yelp
Run. Don't walk. This place is highly underrated and I cannot fathom why. Everything was truly top notch. So many things to try so little time. Will be back 10000% to try the rest of the menu. Honestly I was surprised just how empty the place was. Hopefully it doesn't get too crowded fast.

Yelp
Went here for dinner on a Friday night (definitely need a reservation during busy times) and it was awesome! The tables are really small so keep that in mind before you order too much. We were a party of 2 and ordered 2 drinks (1 raspberry cocktail which tasted like a legit raspberry and was very yummy, plus a pineapple cocktail that I can't remember the name of but was equally tasty). The mussels order was a perfect amount for 2 people to split - we had cacio e pepe sauce although there's like 30+ different flavors of sauces to choose from. We then split the raviolo dish which was a perfect potion - Im glad we didn't each get our own dish because we agreed it would be way too much food (and wouldn't have fit on the table we were at). Raviolo dish was creamy, surprisingly light, flavorful. Mussels were not sandy, only 1 was closed (inedible), and the sauce was super yummy. Our servers were all very nice - although I would have appreciated some direction on portion sizes. All around, a fantastic date spot!! Very vibey with the dark, mysterious lighting and rhythmic music.

Yelp
A friend of mine had to pick up something at a shop nearby but couldn't go until her scheduled time so we decided to grab a drink (more like me drinking and her sitting there). We went here because it was across the street and it was a bit cold out. They were really friendly and let my friend's dog come in. They also brought him a bowl of water, which was super nice. However, the drinks were weak, expensive ($20+), and small. I had to have two, which one I made a double, and drink the remaining half of my friend's. I did not eat here yet, but Instagram keeps telling me it is a moment. Will have to see for myself one day. I am not compelled at the moment to go out of my way to go here, but maybe one day. For now, based on drinks, it is fine. Will add to my list of follow up review places. TBD

Yelp
The food is mouth watering and every bite is extremely flavorful. Started with the dual tartare. I loved it. Salmon & tuna was super fresh and there was a generous portion of caviar. Delicious. It was served with the thinnest crab chips I've ever seen. Then we had the clams appetizer. The sauce was absolutely amazing, we had to ask for another serving of bread to soak up all the butter sauce and we drank it. Flavorful. We opted for the large raw tower. The ceviche was bomb. The stone crab claws were huge but typical. It was fresh but you could tell it was frozen. (It would be the only thing I didn't love) the clams were super fresh and the oysters were too. They were all super cleanly shucked with all the brine juices in tack. Definitely come here for the raw bar. The shrimp was also JUMBO sized. The vinaigrette and cilantro sauces to pair was also so good but you didn't need them because everything was so good and clean naturally. They do it right! We also then ordered the mushroom risotto cause truffle is life. It was the best dish of our 3 entrees. The paella was unique. I've never had it this way. It was tasty for sure and the lobster pasta was really amazing too. I loved the entire meal and left super super stuffed. Our total bill came out to be right under $480 with tip! Can't wait to return. The service: SLOW ASF but they were SO SUPER NICE so I'm torn about how'd I'd rate service but the food is was delicious I guess it makes up for it!

Yelp
I came to this place last night after seeing all the posts on Instagram about the lobster pasta, mussels, raw bar, and fun atmosphere. When I walked in I felt such a good vibe but it took us an hour to be seated at our table which caused us to miss out on the raw bar. We were told they ran out of all the rolls. This was pretty disappointing because my friend only eats sushi rolls, she's not a huge fan of fish & I felt bad because she didn't end up eating anything. The drinks were amazing and our waiter Kenny was awesome and very attentive. He even felt bad that they ran out of food but it wasn't his fault. His service was perfect. The lobster pasta was not as good as it looks. It lacked flavor and I was upset that it didn't live up to what I thought it would be. The lobster part was good though. My mussels were very dry and the white wine sauce wasn't what I expected ,the fries it came with were good. I liked the octopus salad, the popcorn shrimp, and the teriyaki crab appetizer was the best thing we had! Overall I like this place better for Drinks and I loved the bag holders they give you !

Yelp
On the pricier side but food was worth it! The truffld ravioli was to die for and the drinks were solid. Would come back.

Yelp
We were at the Whitney, and looking for somewhere to eat locally, in Chelsea, and out of all the places this is the one that popped up with the most beautiful looking food. We were pleasantly surprised, not only of the ambience, but the professionalism of the staff, their knowledge, and the overall beauty of the space. We were torn between the muscles and the Tartare, and went for the Tartare. It was a perfect share and we'll definitely be back for the muscles soon. Shout out to Evan, the manager, who let us know about the restaurants history, that they have Jazz on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, DJs on weekends, and happy hour weekdays from 4 to 6. I've added a couple, happy hour menus, that I didn't see on yelp, and a few pictures of our tartare one as served and one about halfway through so you can see the depth of how much fish you actually get. it was substantial.

Yelp
Honestly the food was mainly what dictated my score of a 3. I expected a lot more given the price of the dishes! The ambiance and the waitstaff are fantastic I truly had a wonderful experience dining there, but due to the quality of the food I would not go back. I got a few dishes including their Double Tartare, Wagyu Tataki and Lobster Tagliatelle. The tagliatelle had great flavor, but it came out lukewarm. The double tartare was good, but it was so so salty that it made it difficult to finish the dish. The rice paper chips it came with were too thin to support the weight of the tartare- I believe thicker rice chips would've created a better textural experience. The tataki was honestly just not my cup of tea, but my friend really enjoyed it. All in all, 3/5 because of the quality of the food but the waitstaff and ambience were fantastic.

Yelp
This place was great! I love that you just get bread and fries as an appetizer! My friend Lisa got the wagyu beef which was delicious and i forgot the names of what I got! But it was basically a huge ravioli in a truffle sauce. And then I got the double tartar caviar, salmon and tuna. I love the bathrooms here! Great place and would come back here!

Yelp
Me and my friend went to Mollusca on a Friday night, they are very accommodating with and never made us feel rushed we spent about 3 hours there having food and drinks , the service was very good, the drinks are great and the ambience as well great energy , the food was mediocre we got Ceviche , Empanadas of crab & paella the paella was the worst of them all terrible cooked so we had to send back unfortunately and got lobster rolls instead all this foods was shared between me and my friend we would expected it to be served in a way that is shareable but it wasn't which was a bit disappointing. I would come back for drinks and the ambience but not for the food

Yelp
The service here is absolutely ridiculous and in my opinion RASCIST! After viewing multiple open reservations on the OpenTable app we decided to walk in and was told that there would be a wait. I'm not sure who the Russian waitress is but she definitely pissed me off when she wrote my name down on a sticky note instead of putting it in their system. After waiting over a half an hour, getting strange looks from the server and seeing multiple people seated we left. Needless to say I never received a notification to be seated. Don't waste your time or money here these people are not worth it!

Yelp
I came here for brunch on a Sunday with my homegirl. Made reservations for 2:15 PM. The hostess was very welcoming upon entry and we were seated right away. It wasn't crowded which was great for us to talk and hear on another. Our waitress was very attentive to us sharing information about their 2 choices of Bellinis (passion fruit and Asian Pear) the Asian pear was my favorite not too sweet at all, the passion fruit was delicious and not too tart. We ordered the gyoza for appetizers and they were delicious I'd go back and order this for myself each time. They offer a wide range of sauces for your mussels and we were so overwhelmed we stuck to what we were familiar with which was the creamy white wine again the mussels were divine perfect temperature and more than enough for 2 people to share. Lastly we ordered the Pan seared shrimp with mashed potatoes and poached egg, very interesting combo, and filling to say the least. I'd probably added some salt and pepper to the mash potatoes but overall is was good and the shrimp came with the tail off. And I must not forget to add that this restaurant is very aesthetically appealing great for a date or brunch with friends. And staff is kind.
